I'm on a "pegan" diet, which is basically Paleo with a twist in an effort to reverse and prevent multiple chronic health conditions. The diet is working, but the learning process and flip-flopping my diet and lifestyle has been a major learning process, time consuming, and expensive! But, it doesn't have to be TOO expensive if you have the right resources and ingredients that can be used in multiple ways.

This book gave me a number of great ideas on how to save money using more common ingredients than a lot of paleo books offer. I've read A LOT of them in recent months. So many paleo books include unusual spices and herbs I might use for one recipe, but that's it. My local store doesn't even carry a lot of them, and it's very expensive to try to get them all! This is a practical book for the more practical (and budget stretched) paleo dieter/cook who wants to use common, every day ingredients and still make incredible healthy meals and snacks! It provides ideas on a more budget friendly paleo diet, and a number of recipes to follow as well.

I don't usually like to rate cookbooks when I haven't tried the recipes in them, but I wouldn't actually try any of the recipes in this book. If you like chili powder and cans of tomatoes (or, tomato paste, or tomato chunks, whatever) in most of your food, though, you'd probably really dig this one.

Can't wait to try some of these recipes. They actually look delicious and use everyday ingredients that you may already have on hand! Her tips are great as well, providing helpful hints and what may or may not work for different individuals.

Random library grab. I'm sorry to say that much of why I didn't like this cookbook was because of the food photography. The recipes just didn't look good to me (sorry). For many of the recipes I think they were recipes or dishes that I could've easily come up with on my own. It just didn't seem as creative as it could've been.
