What a brilliant debut novel by Jessica Hawkins - most definitely an author to watch. I was massively impressed with this.

Olivia/Liv Germaine is happily married and devoted to her long term partner and husband, Bill. Bill is safe, solid and worships her. But one night whilst at the theater, her eyes meet with those of the gorgeous David. A stranger with whom she feels an immediate spark and o
Two reasons this book sucked......

1. If the author wanted us to hate the h, she did a really good job. Liv was a bitch with the way she treated her husband. I kept waiting for the moment her and David got caught, but it doesn't happen.

2. For me, when reading a story involving cheating, I'm willing to understand and accept it if there's a good reason for it. Something that makes you say "I don't like what's happening here, but I understand why it's happening". In this situation, Liv simply isn't

I really like this book.It is a little slow to start, but it captivates you until the end that you don't notice it is already the end of the book(Am so glad I already have the next one or I might have thrown my kindle away because it ends in a cliffhanger!).I wasn't really sure that I will like this book about a married woman having an affair but unfortunately this happens in real life. Olivia and David have strong connection from the

I'm usually the horror reading gal, romance and hot stuff isn't my usual fare but once in a while I will fall prey to a good cover and I do enjoy other genres, a lot. Somehow Come Undone looked spicy enough so I took the plunge and requested this off NetGalley and then I attempted to read it. Yes attempted.... I absolutely hated the beginning, from the awkward syntax to the strange dialogue that never told me who was really talking I was cursing the way this was written but to my dislike there w ...more

Unfortunately this book is a bit of a slow starter. Olivia Germaine is a content married women, to Bill Wilson. She has, loyal friends and career, that she has worked hard for. Bill is pushing for a white picket fence life, ready to have children and basically just be happy. Olivia, however is not ready for that. She is content with the current lifestyle that they lead. A brief chance encounter with David Dylan brings a change in Olivia, an a

This is for me the best romance series I've read. It has a great story, that doesn't rely on action to keep our attention. It's all about two normal people who fall in love. And it's well written.

Most series, even the ones that start really strong, lose something mid way through book two for me normally. This keeps your attention the whole way through, right through to the very last chapter. I LOVED it. I won't post any spoilers because you should just read it and you will LOVE it as much as I d

WOW!! Where do I even begin??

I stumbled upon Jessica Hawkins doing a Goodreads search in Listopia for something similar to Emily Giffin's "Something Borrowed" (but maybe a little bit more revealing, if you know what I mean), and the summary intrigued me. I thought it'd be a sexy, fluffy story that would probably hold my interest well enough to leave me satisfied for a while, but never did I expe

This book started slow, very slow. I wasn't even sure I was going to like it or finish due to it being that slow but now.....

I'M SCREAMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You end like that? YOU END LIKE THAT? What a clusterfuck of emotions, sweet mother of Joseph.

First of all, Olivia. Not condoning what she did, it's a story, not real life, whatever. But holy crap does she annoy the ever living shit out of me. Sort ya life out girl. Please? Fo

This series was recommended to me by my friend, Tanya ages ago. I'm sure she might've forgotten about it but I did not. I just added it on my long lists of TBR until now.

After all my current reads that doesn't seem to stir any emotions from me as I felt detached to the story, good to know that this book was an exception.

Reading till the wee hours is a sure sign that I'm invested.

And what else do you expect from reading a book about cheating? Obviously, I'm royally pissed. B

3.5 stars... This book started out really slow for me. I stuck with it and it actually got pretty good. Love triangles are not my favorite type of book but for some reason this one worked for me. Since it ended on a cliffhanger I immediately moved on to book two. I am reading it now. I hear it is better but I am not sure if I agree yet. I do like David more than I like Bill so I am cheering him on all the way. Hopefully this will end with the hea I am hoping for.

The book had a slow start, but at about 60%, I could not stop reading!! I am so glad I did not give up on this one. We had a family christening and then a recital and I was trying to find every excuse to go back to the car and hide so I could read finish this book.

The sexual tension, the steam…it was awesome!! I love stories that leave me wanted the sequel ASAP.

There were SO many hard decisions for Liv. A lot of thoughts came to my head when I read this. Bill was a faithful and loyal

Mind. Overload. (In a good way!!)

Soooo.... There are no spoilers or secrets because the short blurb of the book clearly outlines the story. If you are opposed to cheaters, turn away now. I do not condone cheating but I sure as hell do not mind reading about it! (It makes for good, juicy, steamy drama!)

For anyone who is married or in a very committed relationship, we have either been there before, are there right now or you know someone who is - simply settled. You are with your partn

Oh my word. How to review this book with no spoilers? We all know how I hate spoilers.

There didn’t even have to be a love scene for this book to be hot. Don’t fret. There was some steamy moments. (Not a YA book)

Is it bad I was hoping her husband would do something that would open the way for her to be able to be with David?

There’s this line here that I’m nervous about crossing with my review. It’s that most marriages don’t stay hot like they are in the beginning. They set
Holy wow.

Emotional and angsty with a drop dead gorgeous, swoony male.

And first off, it does involve cheating so if that is a limit for you, back away now.

This was such an unexpected book. I picked it up when I was inbetween books just for something to read but then I could not put it down. And this is totally me just not doing any research, but I thought this was one of those novella length trilogies. So glad it wasn’t! Especially for a debut book from Jessica Hawkins, this one was f

Jessica Hawkins is an amazing author. And I believe that the Cityscape Series was better for me than 50 Shades. In all honesty, the characters felt more real and they dealt with grown up issues, concerns, and feelings.

Since reading the very first page, I have been unable to get Olivia out of my head. I feel like she's a good friend, and I traveled through her ups and downs, happiness and troubles right along with her. Me, Gretchen, Lucy, and Liv are BFFs now, and I am better for it.

I am going to be completely honest here and say I have already finished the third and final book (just this morning actually.) That is not the way I like to do my reviews, I prefer to write them up immediately following each book in a series because I feel that each book should be handled separately. That being said I was SO HOOKED I flew right through this series ….therefore now I find myself back tracking .So be it, here goes nothing. I had my eye on t

In all honesty, I loved the cityscape books more than 50 shades. Say what?!?! Don't get me wrong, I loved Christian. But this story is more relatable, felt more real, and isn't about hardcore sex and a red room. Or a guy that was 50 shades of fucked up. It was emotional, lots of angst, swoon worthy, and a hot read. Each book in the series just kept getting better and better. I read the whole series in just a couple of days, it consumed me. That's when you know you've read a good book. I'm lookin ...more

I think this was a perfect buildup book...

It was so interesting! It had all the right amount of buildup, tension, and angst.

I don't know all that much about the complication of work and marriage and adulthood, but I feel like Olivia helped me understand how difficult it is.

The tension between her and David was amazing, they had such amazing chemistry and it was so difficult because Olivia was married and it's not like Bill was necessarily a bad guy either.

There was no right answer. The way th

It only takes one look. One feeling. One word. One touch. And it only takes one man to wake Olivia up from the daydream of her life and feel passion and purpose.

What do you do when the life you have seems packaged perfectly, but the look from one man sends it spiraling into a new dimension ?

I'm going to preface by saying that I have no problems with cheating in my romances. It happens in real life. Not everyone is happy in their relationship. No excuse to cheat but I'm not going to NOT read a book because the plot involves cheating. With that being said, I did not enjoy this book. Not because the heroine, Olivia, cheats on her husband. I did not enjoy it because I didn't like the characters, the execution and the overall writing. Another story told in 1st person POV where I wanted ...more

Am I team David? or team Bill? lol

It would have been easier if the author made Bill like a douche bag, but nooo. He's nice and sweet. He was almost the perfect husband.. but I guess he's just not the right husband for Olivia...

David on the other hand.. whew! He's hot, smart, all alpha male and just doesn't know how to give up. He was determined to have Olivia. It was hard not to like him and by the end I was rooting for David! He won me over in the last few pages of the book.
