'Winter Frost' is book seven in the 'Orgasmic Texas Dawn' series and continues the excitement in the lives of Kieran, Jubilee, Nicholas, and Sean. These four men are US Marshals, work partners, and good friends to boot. This story continued their work exploits and brought some seriousness in as well as Kieran and Jubilee's relationship is struggling a little over their difficulties to adopt Juan.
This story heats up with a Jack the Ripper type murderer who is going after prostitutes in a small Mexican town right across the border. The beginning of this case coincides with Kieran and Jubilee having a gigantic fight after which Kieran comes and stays at Nicholas and Sean's place, temporarily. Kieran tells them it's over and when the case is wrapped up he's going back to Canada. Nicholas and Sean are reeling since these are their closest friends and role models, to a certain degree. However, they all are in shock when it turns out Sean's brother and his wife, Juan's nanny, are suing for custody of Juan. What. The. Hell.

Sean and Nick seemed like a good match for each other. Also, the building of the relationship seemed a little more authentic than that of Jube and Kieran. These stories focused on the relationships more than the job. There were jobs along the way for the Marshals, but the plot focused on the men, themselves, not one overarching mystery. As such, the entire book just felt more focused and easier to follow.

This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Kieran, Jubilee, Sean and Nicholas team up again tackling case with the US Marshals, a serial killer is traveling to Mexico to kill prostitutes but the case is far from simple. Protecting a witness proves harder than it should and transporting a criminal is filled with danger as he becomes a target for murder. On the home front tensions are high when Juan’s adoption comes to a screeching halt and someone sets out to take Juan away from Kieran and Jubilee.
This is a great story as tensions run high and friendships are tested and relationships are strained. Kieran and Jubilee are put through the wringer as their hope of adopting Juan is crushed, they have to deal with the pressure of work and choices have to be made as their relationship is tested by stress. Sean and Nicholas are progressing nicely with their relationship although there are a couple of tense moments, Sean is still dealing with the emotional distress of being kidnapped and poisoned (Autumn Breeze) and Nicholas faces mutilation when he is caught in a trap.
This story has personal conflicts and trust is bruised, there are exciting cases and the revelation of yet another mole in the Marshal Service, these guys just can’t win can they. I really enjoyed this story because it actually caused me to feel conflicted about my favourite US Marshals, on one hand I felt sympathy, but, I also felt that they over-reacted and I felt so sorry for the one who was caught in the middle when he was torn between his family and his friends. Oh, was that vague? *snigger*.
Nicholas and Sean are the main focus again with Kieran and Jubilee more in the background, we have so much scorching sex from Sean and Nicholas that I was beginning to think I was reading porn *wipes brow*. The Marshal Service comes into its own as we spend more time with the guys at the office, but don’t think there is less cases or action because we still get plenty of both with daring escapes and near misses that we have come to know these guys for. There is a quandary coming up though and I am sad to think we might lose some of the hot Marshals, let us hope Texas pulls its head out of its arse and quickly approves gay adoption.
I have to recommend this to those who love great series, hot sexy men, danger, doubts and betrayal, hot sex, deep love and an ending that has you gritting your teeth.

After I have understand that Nicholas and Sean are two different characters from Jubilee and Kieran and that the dinamic of plots are too different from their books of series , here I can enjoy reading. Nicholas and Sean are one fantastic couple, young, nice, strong but sweet, funny always. At more , they are very brave in their work. So if you do like the story of two hot U S Marshal working on dangerous cases ,this is your book and your series.

These guys just never catch a break! It seems in every book someone is working behind their backs. A threat to Jubilee and Keiran’s proposed family set up comes out of left field in this book and breaks up the happy foursome through mistrust. There are the usual barmy criminals that seem intent on killing the Marshals but never quite succeed and then there is young Marco that has just been added to the mix. On to the next one as the series has become quite addictive!

3.5 Stars - Not as OTT as some in this series, it still had its share of crazy bad guys though! I loved how Nicholas and Sean were together, though there were a few scenes that had Kieran acting out of character. I also liked how Sean's fears caused by the previous book were dealt with.
