I love the cover.

Besides that, I can't really think of anything positive to say about this book.

Sam (Samantha Monroe) is perfectly adequate as the heroine. She is hired by Miguel's father to turn his greatx4 grandmother's journals into a book. (This is the second book IN A ROW in this series where the heroine is a 27-year-old widow. o.O)

The hero is a jerk. Not an "alpha" asshole who is controlling, domineering, and abusive. But just one of those guys. I think Ferrarella is going for "grumpy man'

First, the cover blurb isn't entirely accurate. It wasn't Mike's idea to hire Sam, it was his father's idea. Mike started out against it. He doesn't like having strangers on the ranch and is initially afraid that Sam will be some kind of con artist who will take advantage of his father. Sam is surprised by how warmly she is welcomed by most of the family. It's her reaction to Mike that has her wishing for something she's never had.

I really liked Sam. She had been on her own a lot as a child beca

In A Small Town Thanksgiving by Marie Ferrarella, Miguel Rodriguez Senior has just found a trunk full of old journals written by his great great great grandmother about a time when the natives captured her and what she went through, up in his attic. With the help of the sheriff’s wife Miguel hires a ghostwriter, and hopefully someone that will take care of his eldest ...more

She especially doesn't expect to find love with the rude and emotionally handicapped Mike. Samantha is invited to Mike's father's ranch to turn the memoirs of Mike's great-great-great-great-grandmother into a book. Sam completely immerses herself in the memoirs. Everyone in Mike's family welcomes Samantha and begins to see her as one of their own... except Mike.

"This was such a cute story. I laughed out loud at a lot of parts. I think my favorite character was the father, Miguel Sr. He was such a warm character, which contrasted well with his stubborn son. All in all, I really enjoyed reading it." from a

Samantha Monroe is commissioned to write the memoirs of a Rodriguez family ancestor based on her journals that had just been found in the attic. Eldest son Mike Rodriguez resents the idea of a stranger living in their house for an extended period of time. That is, until he met Sam. Good story.
