"Funny, sassy, and sexy. Reading Shannon Richard is pure pleasure!" -- Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author

Some things you don't dare let go . . .

Melanie O'Bryan knows life is too short to be afraid of taking chances. And former Air Force sergeant Bennett Hart is certainly worth taking a chance on. He's agreed to help her students with a school project, but

3.5 stars!

I had a hard time rating this one. I loved the writing style and the story overall but it could have been a lot better especially towards the end.

Unstoppable is one of those slow-burning stories set in a small town with great side characters. I usually love these types of stories, and while Unstoppable did have great characters and undeniable chemistry, it was too slow for me. I like knowing about the day-to-day stuff and all that but really, it became tedious after a while.

The second

A fun and easy read using that age old formula.

Stilted dialogue with many pointless scenes. It is the generic brand equivalent to books in the Lucky Harbor Jill Shalvis series.

Sorry if that sounds harsh and this is the most I can muster up to write about it. Talk about a double edged sword, I paid for it but that also means I don't feel obligated to write a good review. Maybe others will like this but to me there are several other, way better, contemporary series out there.

The Country Roads series focuses on a group of friends finding love in small town Mirabelle, FL. In Unstoppable, we follow a young teacher, Mel, and a former soldier, Bennett, as they find their way to each other and learn what it means to love.

I love Shannon Richard's writing. She makes her characters pop and the small town setting is very well done. She has "meet cutes" and sweeping romantic gestures, but also grounds it with

Bennett that boy is just I loved him, "well, I was concerned about your limbs, too," Bennett said with a smile." When Melanie FINALLY decides to grow balls and not put up with his crap I must say I was really pleased with the way Bennett handled it, "I can't leave you alone." He came into the room and shut the door behind him. "And I'm not playing games." He crossed the small space. "Or at least I'm not trying to." He shook his head. "I think about you all the time." Bennett his mind is such a ...more

I enjoyed this novel! I usually don't read a lot of romantic novels because, face it, they all end happily ever after. Although this novel follows the form, I enjoyed that the main character was a teacher. She is a teacher that I can relate to; one who works hard to connect with and "save" the students she can.

I also enjoyed all of the supporting characters. They seemed like "real" people who would say and do things that good friends would do/say

Mirabelle is such an adorable little place. I wish towns and people like that readily existed. I really loved the characters but I felt a little bored at times reading. Looking forward to the next book because there is a love interest outside of the main group of friends. A cute and summery read though :) this is adult contemporary romance, just FYI!

Melanie needs to help of Bennet Hart, a former Air Force sergeant, with her students for a school project. She is hoping he notices her but she feels he is hiding something. Bennet finds himself happy to be back home and meeting Mel, but will his past keep him from moving forward? Will he continue to play it safe?

This started off really cute. I loved how the story was flowing along. The middle of the book was too slow and the same things happened for pages and pages. I felt the end was a bit too

Quick & Dirty: Very steamy romance with lots of drama and heartfelt moments.

Opening Sentence: The pain was incredible.

The Review:

Melanie O’Bryan just recently came to terms with how short life can really be. A few months back she was shot, but luckily there was no permanent damage. Former Air Force sergeant Bennett Hart has really been there for Mel through the whole healing process. They are just friends, but Mel’s feelings have started to go way beyond

Since returning injured from active duty two years ago, Air Force veteran Bennett Hart has slowly readjusted to life in Mirabelle, working construction and renovations. He has even started building some furniture and is scheduled to help out at the local high school with a project, something he is looking forward to. He loves working with his hands and he also enjoys hanging out with Mel, the math teacher who spearheaded this project

Unstoppable is a very pleasant read. I think this is something you can read in one afternoon when you’re finally done with the laundry and other household chores. The story is simple and easy to dive into. The characters are likeable. The secondary characters even steal the limelight from the main couple! They’re wacky and fun, and more than once I wished I had such a supportive and fun group of friends.

The way Unstoppable is written reminds me of Susan Elizabeth Phillips. She is an

Oh, man. I absolutely devour every single Shannon Richard novel and am always left wanting so much more. Unlike the first two novels of the Country Roads series, Unstoppable explores the slow growth and realistic uncertainty of starting a relationship that isn't hot and heavy right off the bat.

After Melanie was shot by the two men who victimized their town, Bennett did not leave her side as she recovered and returned back to teaching. No matter how big of a crush Melanie has developed for

Unstoppable was a cute, light-hearted contemporary romance that is not so emotionally heavy you feel you can't breathe. Instead, it's a breath of fresh air and will leave you smiling at the friendships Richard has created, as well as fanning yourself over the sizzling tension between Mel and Bennett.

Pacing: I really liked Richard's writing style. The story felt natural and relatable, and one that I could easily envision happening in everyday life. Mel and Bennett's relationship

Loving someone is the best thing in life but don’t push it away because you’re scared of losing them because in the end it’s best to love than not love at all.

Wow can I say that this book was an emotional read for me. I can’t wrap my head around these two characters that were meant to be together but because he still had issues he pushed the woman he loved out of his life. That was so not cool. Life is not all roses there are times that someone dear to your heart passes away or they get hurt,

THIS IS WHERE I DECLARED THIS SERIES ONE OF MY FAVORITES EVER EVER EVER. The first time I read the first book, I gobbled it up - I devoured it. And then I devoured the second and third books in the series, Undeniable and Unstoppable. This series has basically all of the things that I love about a fun romance series: the small town, the quirky characters, the friends/siblings/family relationships that are INCREDIBLE,

Unstoppable is the third book in this series by Shannon Richard and I have thoroughly enjoyed them all. Set in the small town of Mirabelle Florida, Unstoppable, which is a companion novel and can be read as a standalone, is Mel and Bennett's story. Melanie O'Bryan is a high-school teacher who has always been the more subdued one in her group of girlfriends when it comes to guys and relationships. She knows how to cut loose and have a good time, but isn't the type of girl to just sleep around. ...more

Mel is a high school math teacher who has taken it upon herself to talk the new superintendent into letting her math classes build bookcases for the school library to show the students how math can show up in every day life. Something I severely wish my high school teachers had bothered to show us. It's no wonder Melanie O'Bryan is one of the students' favorite teachers.

Since the school doesn't teach shop anymore, though, Melanie asks one of her friends, Bennett to help out. He's in

Bennett Hart is now out of the Air Force after an almost fatal accident while deployed. He has spent the last couple of years not necessarily recouping but more like avoiding his issues. Unfortunately for him, those problems are brought front and center when (if you read Undeniable or the prologue in this book) Melanie O’Bryan is shot. While the sweet and sassy math teacher is still recovering from her physical and mental wounds, he’s there like a knight in shining armor trying to help her. The ...more

This was a sweet, fun and light contemporary that was just what I needed. With the utterly adorable small-town, Southern setting and characters you can’t help but to fall for, there’s really not much to complain about.

When Mel (a high school math teacher) finally is able to do a project she’s been wanting to do with her class for a while, she needs some

Unstoppable by Shannon Richard is an extremely enjoyable contemporary romance, number three in the Country Roads series, it can be read as a stand alone but to understand the history of the different characters I do recommend starting at the first book Undone.

Full of romance, steamy love scenes and unforgettable characters these books only get better as the series goes along.

Mel O'Bryan is a maths teacher who has enlisted the help of ex-Air Force sergeant Bennett Hart, who has become well known

Melanie O'Bryan was shot when she walked into a robbery-in-progress and Bennett Hart has been at her side every step of the way. They're friends, but the more time they spend together the more the lines start to blur for Mel. There's no doubt that Mel is attracted to Bennett, but she knows that he doesn't see her that way--until that kiss.

Although Bennett would never deny his attraction to Mel, he doesn't do relationships with women. He doesn't believe he's capable of it. But Mel is smart,

Melanie, Mel to all those who love her, is a high school math teacher with curly hair that loves to frizz in the wonderful southern humidity. Since her accident, she had been shot in book two - Undeniable, she'd been getting a lot of attention from a certain somebody who had caught her eye way before her run in with a bullet. Though a nice friendship wasn't exactly what she had in mind when she thought about him.

Bennett really is Mel’s hero. Mel was shot when she inadvertently walked into a robbery in progress and Bennett was suddenly there to help her. He visited her in the hospital regularly. He helped her recover at home. Then after the recovery, he stuck around to share carry-out and his favorite TV shows on DVD. Needless to say, they became close friends. But Mel wants more. She’s been interested in Bennett long before the shooting. His constant attention and their growing friendship have only ...more

ARC provided for honest review....This was a change of pace for me with this read. Not too dark, not an over abundance of angst, but more of a slow building relationship between two characters that was fairly uneventful even in the moment of the big drama...it was still not too overwhelming.

Basically Melanie has been crushing on local war veteran hottie Bennett forever and a day. They have a friendly somewhat flirtatious relationship that isn't anything exciting. After weeks of hanging out,

So, this is another new to me author and yet again, I will be adding on to my huge TBR pile. This was the third installment of the "Country Roads" series so of course, now I must go forth & purchase the first two books to read and then wait for the fourth one to come out! Argh! I wish I had read the first two in the series before I got my hands on this one but I don't feel like I missed out on anything by reading "Unstoppable" first. Unstoppable is a contemporary romance with just the right amount of sex, intrigue, and humor to keep the reader turning pages.

I loved the way that author develops Melanie into an independent woman who is willing to wait for the man she knows is the one for her however is insightful enough to know that this may be an impossible feat. . Bennett who is suffering from post-traumatic stress needs to face his fears before

I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. It is a page turner with Melanie being shot at the local spa, where her friend Harper works. Mel, Grace and Harper go to the spa after hours for a little treatments only to walk in while the place is being robbed. Unstoppable (Country Roads #3) by Shannon Richard

Unstoppable is book three in the series, but if you haven’t read the rest, it’s perfectly readable nonetheless. The book starts off with a bang, literally. When Melanie O’Bryan stumbles into a breaking-and-entering, former Air Force sergeant, Bennet Heart, jumps to action. We then learn that he spends the next few months helping her recover and work through therapy. This all takes place in the prologue entitled ‘the calm before the storm’. I

Shannon Richard grew up in the Panhandle of Florida as the baby sister of two overly protective but loving brothers.
