Lot of useful information in this book, and I like the techniques to hone thinking and memory, but a lot of the book seems to be padded out with filler and other parts are more of a sale's pitch for other books and apps.

The book I read to research this post was Modern Mind Mapping For Smarter Thinking by Tony Buzan et al which is a very good book which I bought from kindle. A lot of this book is about the various applications for mind maps like planning your day, resolving a problem and even things like doing accounts and planning a project. With the latter 2 if you use the iMindMap software which has been developed by Buzan it lets you export the mind map into Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project & Open Office. There is quite a bit also about the benefits of the software which does have a bit of a learning curve initially but in the long run is easier than doing mind maps by hand. There is also various cloud computing mind map sites which I have touched on before. One is at http://mindbuzancloud.com. It's interesting to note there are literally hundreds of millions of mind maps available on the web. It has revolutionized learning. If you're wondering what a mind map is it is visual because we tend to think visually and is a kind of interconnected map showing how things inter relate with each other. The mind can understand it at a glance and you are encouraged to use lots of bright colors and where applicable use pictures and images rather than words which is where mind map software comes into its own. If you are trying to solve a problem with a mind map try rephrasing the problem using different words at least 5 times. This stimulates the creative process. I did really enjoy although like a lot of Buzan's books it is rather short. It does explain the topic well however.
