HTML (the Hypertext Markup Language) is the fundamental building block for intranets and the World Wide Web and the default format for the upcoming Microsoft Office 2000. It's a coding language made up of "tags" that tell Web browsers like Navigator and Internet Explorer how to display text, links, and Web content ranging from graphics and other multimedia to forms, Java, ActiveX, and JavaScript. HTML's importance, already huge, will only increase now that it's incorporated into Windows 98.
