From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sylvia Day comes a story of the ultimate seduction. . . .

Max Westin. Sex incarnate. She could smell it, feel it with his proximity. Everything about him was a little rough, a little gritty. He was a primitive creature. Just like her.

He held her hand a little too long, his gaze, under thick lashes, clearly stating his intention to

Spellbound was my first book by Sylvia Day and I'm hooked! What a fucking fabulous writer she is!!! Can't wait to read more of her books. This is one of the very best paranormal erotic romances I've ever read!! This book was full of passion and some of the very best soak your panties sex scenes with off the charts sensuality and chemistry that knocked my socks off more then once!!! The bsdm was done tastefully and had a very good storyline as well.Max was so friggin sexy and a true ...more

Sylvia Day has created a couple of my favourite Alpha males in contemporary romance. I adore her writing style. And one day I realised that I haven't read anything paranormal by her.
Spellbound was my first attempt to read a paranormal romance by this author and I cannot say that I was impressed. To be honest I almost did not finish the book.
The world of Warlocks, familiars and hunters is interesting, but unfortunately there is not much complexity in the story and the characters lack depth.

When Victoria's Warlock husband died, he left all of his powers to Victoria. The High council of Warlocks were beside themselves. How dare he leave that much power to a familiar. Familiars are meant to be collared and controlled, not vice versa. After many failed attempts to collar Victoria, the council finally sends Max Westin.

Max is the most powerful of the Warlock Hunters. He is also a dirty talking sex demon, that could melt your panties off just by whispering in your

I've loved Sylvia Day's books from the very beginning but this one really let me down. Spellbound doesn't give us memorable characters that I personally didn't enjoyed reading about, the story doesn't have much of a meaning and it feels like it's just standing there all alone. I walked blindly into this because the book doesn't offer much of a summary but I tried and I'm sad that it failed..

Victoria is just dull. I could not understand her or even begin to like her

Insanely intense and sexual.

I never thought the day would would come where I would say that another woman could make me dampen my panties. That day has come. And that day is today. And I just said it! I have been reading so much Sylvia Day lately. I have become addicted and can't seem to put her down, so day after day, Day has continued to get me all hot and bothered with her delectable and erotic words.

Spellbound is an erotic story of love and lust in a world of witches, warlocks and hunters

Read this review on Got Fiction?

First off, that blurb sucks. It tells you jack squat about the story. Second, this is 3 novellas in 1 book, but all 3 novellas feature the same H/h coupling. And last, this is a paranormal story.

Basically the heroine is a cat familiar who should be bound to a warlock, but after her last "master" died, he transferred her his powers. She has had free reign for decades and is now being tracked as a Feral by the Council. She has to be collared or destroyed.

Victoria St John is a Familiar. Her kind are bound to warlocks to enhance their power but for the last several centuries, Victoria has been alone since the death of her warlock and great love Darius. Warlocks and Familiars are matched by The High Council and it is generally a strategic match, designed to enhance power. However Victoria and Darius found a great love as well and Victoria has been grieving ever since he died. A Familiar who is not bound is in danger of going feral and Victoria’s ...more

"To submit is not to be weak. You would not be less of a woman, but so much more of one."

"Only within my bonds will you truly know freedom."

When Max Westin is charged by the Warlock council to bring in Familiar Victoria St John, he finds that he has perhaps bitten off more than he can chew. Extremely sexual, feral, and dangerous, Victoria gives Max a real run for his money as he tries to get her to submit to him. But plans change as they both begin to fall in love with each other.

Ever start reading a book and think, "Wait, I think I've read this before?" When I started reading this, these were my thoughts. Originally published in 2013 my hiney. "Alluring Tales" (published 2007) anyone? This is the second time I've blindly bought a Sylvia Day book only to be shocked that it is not what it was made out to be (the first being a collection if authors of which she simply wrote an introduction to the book but none of the stories inside). Both of these are extremely misleading ...more
When readers hear Sylvia Day, they automatically associate her with the amazing Crossfire Series and the book boyfriend to end all book boyfriends, Gideon Cross. And me being a VERY big fan of the series was excited to read something else from the fabulous Sylvia Day. Spellbound was a good paranormal erotic romance that had great elements and some not so great. With all of the hype and high expectations from this author, I was expecting a little bit more out of Spellbound. Don't get me wrong, I ...more

I honestly had no idea what this story was about or where it was going to go. When I started reading the story, I was not sure of either the hero or heroine’s intentions. Where is this going?? I loved finding out how these two characters were connected and what they wanted from each other.
I love Sylvia Day. I think in the previous books I have read she did an amazing job bringing me into the lives of the characters. I had some problems with connecting in Spellbound. The premise was

Been a fan of Sylvia Day for a while now and now I know I've drank the Sylvia Day juice for sure when I fell for a PNR/fantasy H like Max Westin LOL (especially considering it's not a sub-genre I automatically gravitate towards...)

It appears Max and Victoria's story is from 3 different anthologies. So I'm glad they were all put together here as one story. Yes, you needed to buy into their attraction quite quickly but with Ms. Day's writing, I bought it:p I thought each "short story", or the way

I love Sylvia Day and I would be SUPREMELY pissed off if I'd purchased this book instead of borrowing it from my local library. What happened? I am stunned.

There was really no story. It was sex, magic, more sex, more sex, magic, sex, sex, sex. 179 pages and she couldn't come up with a storyline? 100 pages of sex...79 of "story". She could have pared down the sex and created a really good book.

Ms. Day generally builds worlds like few authors can but she fell, woefully short,

Syliva day you have out done yourself yet again. This book was hot, sexy and just amazing. When the book started I was hooked right away with the story. The idea behind the magic was amazing I loved how hunter were always dominate and how female witches were submissive. I loved the relationship between Max and Victoria they way she submits to him was just sexy as hell.

There wasn't anything bad about this book that I can talk about the idea and concept was just amazing, the characters were

Wait so is this considered beasteality, because that is all I could think of reading his book.

I felt like 90% if this book was repeating the same thing, and backtracking to state what we had already read.

There is a thing as "to much sex and not enough story" and this book fell into this tragic category. This is the first Sylvia Day book that I did not like, and I hope it never happens again.

Also, why did I bit know this was paranormal? Although at one point during a magic fight, I was picturing

It was alright. Lots of sex, naughty talk, Sylvia does know how to write her.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle 13th February 2014:

Ok, I am going to have to think a little differently when writing this review.

Beause I just LOVE Sylvia Day’s books. Crossfire Trilogy alone has garnered more than 422,500 ratings and the stars are around 4.24 on Goodreads, alone.

She has sold over twelve million books in Crossfire alone, around the globe.

The woman can write.

I have met her in person and she hugged every darn person in that line waiting for her signature

3 stars!!

"To submit is not to be weak. You would not be less of a woman, but so much more of one."

This is a strange one to review. I have never read a book before that has been laid out in this way before and for me this is what in some respects let the book down. The book was written from three different points in time, almost like 3 novella’s put together in one book therefore you didn’t get the build up and depth of characters you would normally expect from a Sylvia

1 disappointing star!

To be honest, I'm really disappointed with this book. I've expected a lot more from Sylvia Day!
'Spellbound' is inconsistent, and there is nothing memorable or unique about it! So, thank God it was short! xD
Characters are pale, shallow and unlikeable.
In 1st chapter we meet Victoria who craves revenge and only revenge for the long lost love of her life, and in 2nd chapter she is already in love with another man. Seriously???
Plus, I think Max's Armani suit is mentioned at

Victoria is a familiar whose Master has died. Max is the vampire who has been sent to kill her because she is so powerful that she scares the Council. Once Max sees her he cannot do it. In retaliation for his taking her under his protection, he is sent against the worst of the community. I liked how Victoria and Max support each other. They are strong individually but together they are unstoppable. I enjoyed Victoria fighting Max every step to her surrender. They are one of the sexiest couples I ...more

2 of the most unfortunate stars!

Definitely didn't read as well to me. At ALL!!

It didn't flow well. It was all over the place and I just didn't connect with it.

I'm sure the scenes were hot (though I've really read hotter, and by the same author).

All I could say is the plot had its potential; and that was about it.

This book went down on my DNF list. I tried and tried to push through but by 50% I just couldn't do it. The story seemed thrown together and readers were just supposed to keep up. I found the characters boring and the storyline fell completely flat. Of course the sex scenes were hot, but that is a given with Sylvia Day. I came in with high expectations and felt completely let down.

I was slightly disappointed with this book especially as I like Sylvia Day as an author. It took me a while to get into the "witchcraft" terminology part of the story and it confused me. The dom/sub element was good as always but can't help but feel that a cat/kitten is not a submissive animal. Slightly disappointed

Want to start by saying I have read a few Sylvia day books and loved them so when I got this book yesterday I was excited to read it unfortunately the best word I can come up with is bizarre I'm sorry but it just didn't float my boat it was basically a xxx bdsm Harry potter without the depth of character and humour sorry but just terrible :(
I first read this trio of three stories involving vampire lovers/ witches several months ago. I decided to reread it as now I've seen more paranormal erotic literature.

Sylvia Day is one of my favorite erotic romance writers.

I thought this collection of 3 novellas was okay. The characters seemed a little flat and, while the action was totally hot, it did not seem to advance the story. Other books by this author were better. It was fine if all you're looking for is a little mindless reading.

It was entertaining and erotic but frustrating as the characters are very simple. Not well developed or thought our. But steamy!
