Lion Breed, Rule Breaker had just a few rules he didn't break. Not for anything. Not for anyone.

#1. Never have sex with a woman outside his own subspecies, especially a human woman.

#2. Never, at any time, accept a mission concerning a female when Jonas Wyatt stinks of a lie.

#3. Run don't walk, skip or stumble. Run, hell for leather away from any female, human or breed, whe

I have read every book in what is one of my favorite series and I look forward to going back to the Breeds World that the author has created.

Rule Breaker is the 29th book in the series….quite an amazing feat to still get readers excited about each book that is released.

The main characters in this story are lion breed Rule Breaker. who has been around for a long time in the series. He and his brother, Lawe (who has found his mate and HEA in the 26th book, Lawe’s Justice) work as Jonas Wy

In a Nutshell: Readers who are like me and have read 28 books in this series may as well read this, the 29th.

Why I Read this Book: 28 books into this series is an investment I either need to give up or stick with forever.

What I Liked: The relationship development is the same in all the books: one or both leads fight the mating but the lust for each other prevents them from separating until they accept their emotional mating as well. Gypsy and Rule are no dif

Featured Couple: Rule Breaker (Lion) & Gypsy(Human)

Rule and Lawe Breaker are the two brothers, lion Breeds, high level enforcers who were never apart and who used to make fun of the mated Breeds.

Nowadays Lawe is happily mated to Diane, while Rule is trying everything he can not to be mated. Basically, he is avoiding the girl that he suspects that she is his potential mate.
Of course it is really fun watching him loosing it. Because it is certain that Rule will lose it. N

Slow start but so much happens!

It took me a bit longer to read this book than normal because I just couldn’t get into it at first, HoWever once I really got involved, I realized you do need the background so you have to read the first part. So much happens in this book that is integral to the ongoing storylines.

There are several ongoing storylines that are moved forward in this book and I won’t give away spoilers but I will list them. One is the the storyline about Morningstar Martinez being the

Earc received to read and write an honest review.

I have been a Breed fan since I picked up 'Megan's Mark' some four years ago, and I often find myself making up a list of Breed books I want to see written, and Rule was definitely on that list. He may not have been on the top, but he was on it for damn sure, now I can cross him off and wait on Dane and Dogs books.

Rule Breaker is the kind of emotionally traumatic book that leaves you sitting wrecked on the floor mumbling about sadistic authors wh

Wow, this book was sooooo much better than Stygian's Honor!! I have to say i was really nervous to read this because the last one was quite boring and also because it was getting such mixed reviews, similar to how it was with the last book.

It was nowhere near on par with her better books but there was a definite improvement here, that's for sure! Here's a small little breakdown of what/who was in this book and my thoughts....

Rule Lora Leigh did something completely different with

The first thing you should do before reading this book is get your life jacket ready. There is a massive flood, flow, drip, soaking, sopping, seeping wetness going on. Gypsy, has to be wettest woman in the fictional world. After hearing her describe her leaking disorder for far too many pages I had to hear her bed mate talking about riding all that wetness over and over. I swear the book's pages started to curl from the moisture.

Rule Breaker, the lion, honest and true, yeh right. Okay so Mr.

Fillers, complicated lines, no backtrack or updates to previous books to catch up. Charters were ok but some wold building would be nice ones in a while. Thought it would never finish. A killer to actually read all the way to the end. I actually read 3 books in between this one to get some breathers. 2-3 star rating. Wish it was shorter, more to the point with way less fillers.

Without the sex scenes it was just as watching bold and the beautiful. Even if you missed episodes, you would never miss

Ms Leigh getting back to the main storylines which was good. I did have to try and wrack my brains to work out who some of the 'older' characters were and how they fit in and why Jonas was looking for them, but I sort of got there in the end - Ms Leigh doesn't really give us many recaps which would have worked better for me. Glad to finally read about some sort of resolution with regards to Amber (Jonas' step-daughter) and her condition.

Breeds 29 - This is one of my original "guilty pleasure" reads and I have followed the series through dodgy plot resolutions and missing chapters, through three publishers and now hardcover release. I guess I'll be reading to the last page in the last book...

Rule Breaker follows the somehow oh so addictive Breeds formula - new facets and resisting of the mating bond, machinations of Jonas Wyatt, the usual "controversial" claiming but does move the story forward. We get resolution for one storyli

In my opinion, the original mainstream paperbacks (Megan's Mark, Harmony's Way, Tanner's Scheme, Dawn's Awakening, Bengal's Heart, Lion's Heat and especially Mercury's War and Coyote's Mate) were the best of this series. Rule Breaker does not work as a stand alone book; I was confused, and I have read all the Breed stories. I almost stopped reading this book after the 3rd or 4th chapter, and I did skim over some of the sex scenes. The plotting in Rule Breaker is tortuously convoluted, and I ofte ...more

What the hell did I just read?

I realize that this is the 20th book in the Breeds series and since I've only read 2 of the preceding ones I can't expect to catch EVERY reference and know EVERY secondary character but, Jesus Fucking Christ, this book made no Goddamned sense.

It was so confusing, so convoluted, pulled in so many secondary characters. so many different organizations, both secret and extra-secret, and so many spies and schemers and manipulators who all thought that they alone knew wh

Yes... Rule Breaker is the twenty-ninth title in Lora Leigh’s Breed Series (this includes all of the novellas). I know that sometimes I can’t believe I’ve stuck around with this series for this long. But I just can’t quit it. It’s my crack. And while there have been some not as great titles in recent history, I am happy to report that Rule Breaker is an exciting and passionate story -

I have been a fan of the Breed series for years and have religiously read the books the day they are released. But I do have to say I was pretty disappointed in this one.

The whole "Amber" arc has been going on for a while now...too long in this readers opinion. I was glad to think it was going to be wrapped up in this novel. Along with "Amber" we have been reading about the deadly Breed "Gideon" again for more than a few books and again I was hoping his story line would be wrapped up in this no

When a series goes 29 books you believe that it has gone through several incarnations. What makes Lora Leigh's Breeds different is the fact that aside from some minor tangents along the way, this series has remained true to it's beginnings.

That has to make it hard for an author. How to make it unique and fresh but remain true to the very beginning. In my humble opinion, Ms. Leigh does a stellar job. Yes, she is constantly adding

The 29th installment of Breed Series by Lora Leigh. Yup, 29, second longest series I read after In Death series by J.D Robb. And I asked myself, why I read it? Because the mystery just keep plying on top of the mystery. I want the answer!!!

Excellent! From the beginning to the end was a non-stop roller coaster of emotions and triumphs. I'm very satisfied with this book. A lot of questions has been answered. The bond between the Lion and Rule was very entertaining to see, how different personality they both seem to have and how the Lion took over Rule's mind and been watching over Gypsy all this time and going behind Jonas's back was amazing! And what Gypsy went through losing her brother was heartbreaking. The deceit and the carefu ...more

Come on, guys, you know what you'll get after 29 stories :) no sense getting pissed because it's same old, same old. It's romance, so yes, it is a story of boy meets girl, they fight the love, the heat prevents them from getting away. :) The overall plot is what makes these books interesting, in it we finally see someone else managing Jonas, a resolution to the Amber and the Navajo Affair.

I could have done without the too many steamy sex scenes, the book would have been tighter and maybe be

2.5 disappointed stars and a huge thank goodness that is over.

So now that I have chewed my way through Rule Breaker (and it was very tough in places) I am pissed that I wasted so much of my time reading a book that was boring me to tears until about 70%. On the other hand FINALLY there was some progression to the Amber story arc; it is only been dragging on for about 7 or so books. While I would sum up Rule Breaker as boring with soap opera-like ridiculous characters (like Greta - she came acro

It was fine. More of the same it felt like, lots of plot threads, sooooo many different characters that I had a hard time recalling who they were and how they were connected. More Amber drama, very little Cassie and at this point in the series (29 books in, omg) her's is really the only book I'm remotely curious about.

Twenty-ninth in the Breeds (and sixteenth in the Feline Breeds subseries) paranormal romance series and revolving around men and women who were genetically manipulated to be faster, stronger, more dangerous. The couple focus is on Rule Breaker and Gypsy McQuade and is set in New Mexico.

Be warned, this story is incredibly confusing if you haven’t recently read previous installments.

My Take

Rule Breaker is one of the most trusted commanders under Jonas. Rule has been more insistent on the others against a mate. That is the last thing he needs or wants. Even though the breed side of himself desires a mate, the human part is so insistent on a mate that Rule is determined to never let Jonas manipulate him as he has done with many other. But he may not have much of a choice against this certain woman that calls out to him body and soul. Gypsy McQuade never felt love or acceptance from ...more

Rule Breaker is the 29th book in the Breed series by Lora Leigh. Our feature couple is Rule, a lion breed and Gypsy a human. The story starts off very sad, we witness Gypsy the night her brother is murdered. For Gypsy her brother feels like the only family she really has and losing him almost breaks her. Gypsy is consumed with guilt and she takes up her brother mission to find purpose. Unfortunately she becomes emotionally suspended in time, closing off all of her emotions, which was rather hear ...more

Rule Breaker is the latest instalment in the popular Breeds series by Lora Leigh. Often times with long running series, the story gets stale and it is difficult to remain interested. That is not the case with this series. This book did a lot to move the overall arc forward, while giving us a satisfying, steamy hot couple.

Gypsy Rum McQuade is a woman on a mission to atone for a sin that was never really hers. Believing

But first, why i finish reading it:
1. I liked Gypsy Rum. I like her name, her bad-assness. The girl's a survivor.
2. Gideon (i am so excited for his book!!!!)
3. Finally, FINALLY, answers for Amber
4. Rule. Nuff said.

This is a very addictive series. This latest one was good for me. But it was so confusing for the first half of the book. This one is filled with intrigue. So many groups working in secret to help each other and yet they didn't exactly do it. I can't help but think that if they all worked together, things would work out better.

What really pulled me into this story is the way Gypsy does so well without any support or love from her family. The way she is focused yet gives a different outer appear
