This second book in the Koning Clan series is a longer and more in depth story than the first one, and it’s all the better for it. Alexandria, a rare white panther, has run away from her own Clan to seek judgement from the Koning Clan Queen. The alternative is to be sold to the highest bidder for marriage, a prospect she’s not happy with.

Arriving at Gryph’s Bar to find the Pack Alpha and his Queen on their honeymoon, she invokes the right to Hospitality from the second in command, Clint, a sexy

This was a nice installment in this series with an interesting plot. I enjoyed the twists and turns that the story took while the relationship between Eva and Clint developed.

The characters were interesting but slightly inconsistent. For example, I kept having questions pop up in my mind as to what sexual experience level Eva had. I liked how we got to know Clint better but wished that perhaps we could have gotten to know Eva's background as well. Clint was a well fleshed character with a histo

Potential yet shortcomings in storyline & writing

★ (rounded up to account for my personal quirks)

THE SHORT: DNF @ 42%. I tried several times to finish ESCAPING LOVE since receiving my review copy. I wanted to be fair to the author in case it was more my “reading mood” and not the book itself. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case because for me, this was another unfortunate trifecta of underdeveloped world-building, superficial/inconsistent characterisations, and numerous writing

I’m starting to find that once you’ve read enough of these type of books they’re all the same and although they remain to be quick and easy reads they no longer hold my interest like they used to. This book was no exception to the rule and while it has been a while since I’ve read the first in the series I found myself thinking that any book of the same genre that has stayed in my head could have been the first book in the series. It was a good standalone book and I didn’t think knowing which bo ...more

***Copy received for an honest review by author.***

This was a step up from the last one. Not quite as jumpy, and the writing was a bit more clean. Heck, I even laughed more! Escaping Love relies heavily on tropes though, and this does little to flesh out Smith's skill. The male love interest, Clint, magically comes into money . . . by a timely coincidence. There also a lot of sexual phrases that were present from the last book, I found it a bit tacky.

My biggest issue was that just like the firs

Escaping Love is the second book in the series and I always get nervous when I read sequels because I tend to think they are lacking something but let me tell you this sequel was right on target minus a few things I wanted and I hope I get out of a third book. I'm not sure if there is going to be one but hint hint Debra Smith I need a third one...... Eva and Clint are in this novella and let me tell you I loved Eva. I loved Eva because she has her issues yes but she was able to tell Clint what s ...more

Alex and Clint's story - loved it.

I really enjoyed the new setting and new characters.

Holy hotness - country boy Clint is one sexy wolf. :) I loved the characters in this novel. Alex is such a strong but soft, beautiful woman. I loved watching her bloom as an individual during this novel. It's like she ran from a place where she expected to do and be someone in a position of "duty first." Watching her grow as her own person was a nice touch. Clint, oh my, sexy country thang. Loved him.

Escaping Love is a longer and more developed book than the first one and it definitely paid off.

The characters were better developed and story definitely flowed better. I think the series will get better with time.

The romance between Clint and Alex was sweet and intense. They were put in an intense situation and the feelings that come from intense situations flowed. They are a good couple together and it showed.

I figured out early that Clint and Gus were more than they appeared to be. I wasn’t

Alex is running for her life. A rare white panther, her value to her family lies more with political alliances and monetary gain. Before she is to be auctioned off to the highest bidder, she runs to the new Queen seeking refuge. She wants to be able to choose her own mate! But the Queen is on her honeymoon, and the only help Alex can find comes in the form of a wolf shifter named Clint. Clint is happily minding his own somewhat reclusive business when the most gorgeous woman he's ever seen faint ...more

Can a wolf shifter and a white panther find love or will the fur fly? Escaping Love by Debra Smith may be short on pages, but there is enough heat to cause global warming as Alex, a rare white panther seeks protection from the Koning Clan. Clint, the Beta wolf of the clan knows she is trouble, but finds her irresistible, but his past is a mystery to him and he struggles with that lack of knowledge.

Debra Smith spared nothing in the spice department, and created two strong characters who knew wha

Another great shifter read from Debra Smith.

The second in the Koning Clan books is filled with just as much action, but is longer than the first, so you get more 'bite' to the story. The relationship between Clint and Eva progresses at a fairly decent pace for a shorter novel. You get the insta-attraction, but also the wooing and courtship that's usually lacking in shorter stories. When things do start rolling it's scorching! Eva and Clint are well matched. Eva doesn't play the 'distressed' her

Oh my, Clint is just so damn sexy, "his breath caressed the sensitive skin of her neck, sending delicious chills down her spine straight to her core. "You can be grumpy and rude, but don't like to me. Ever." I loved his way of thinking, "The little cat needed an attitude adjustment, a spanking would do the trick. He doubted she'd ever had one. The idea of her a** up in the air while her round little cheeks burned from his attentions made his already hard co** pulse with need." He's just so damn ...more

I had a tough time with this book. The actions of the characters seemed to come out of nowhere at times and they left me blinking on more than one occasion. I did like Clint (and Kane, but I have a thing for the surly ones, don't I?) and I can understand why Alex ran from her family but ... I don't know. Maybe because I was trying too hard to figure out WHY they were acting certain ways, I never really connected with them.

It was enjoyable enough and I did read through so I could see how things w

I gave it a 4star partly because of the spelling errors tho I know it's not the Authors fault but it did kinda take away from the read. I liked this second story with twists and turns I hope that we get another book in the series! I like the idea of where the line is going. I read on my app on my phone and one day after my lunch break I had my girl friends at work read a few passages and well they where blushing & fanning them selfs ;) I'm thinking a few husbands got lucky that night ;)

Another enjoyable installment in the series. The characters were interesting and it has a good plot that will keep you hooked.

It was well written and had good descriptions but sometimes the writing felt rushed together, like there should have been pauses where there weren't.
The ending has left me eager for more, I'm looking forward to reading the next book :)

Much better than the first one. I would actually read the 3rd one based off this one. Still quite a few spelling errors!

Sweet erotic romance with a good plot and a great HEA. There is some anal sex so this is considered erotic romance, not erotica.
