If you are after a well-written romantic read that is filled with sexual tension, wit and humour, has wonderful characters and a great storyline, then this ticks all the boxes. It was a pleasure to read. Whilst there wasn’t a vast amount of steamy content, when it did happen it was worth it.

I absolutely loved Jill and Chet. They were both strong individuals with characters traits that weren’t unrealistic. Jill, a chef, is honest, open, witty and determined. Her life goals are to run a successful

The copy I received was a pdf one, 226 pages long. Turns out the book itself is 211 pages long, with a teaser at the end for another Entangled release. I'm a fast reader, but not that fast, especially when life/kids/hubby/kitchen is screaming for my attention every other minute.

So imagine how it is possible that I read Bachelor's Special under 2 hours? I read it in bits and pieces, but I computed the time, and it's less than 2 hours. How did this happen?

Well, nothing else but the easy, flowing

This book had everything that makes up a great romance read.
It was fun and light at times, with many sexy, sensual kisses. Throw in a bit of conflict, a few broken souls who constantly disregard their true feelings and it’s a match made in heaven.

The characters are all really great…okay maybe not all…Gina was a real skank. I was immediately thrown into Jill’s world of culinary pleasure. Her passion for cooking was clearly visible but when the dashing Chet Castle entered her kitchen it all went

This is a romantic roller coaster ride from the first page! Jill Adgate has a job she's been dreaming of for a long time. She is a sous chef working for a well known restaurant. She loves the hard work and long hours. She is prepping the dessert for a private birthday celebration, when Tall Dark And Handsome walks into her kitchen. She is immediately flustered, and things go downhill quickly. She is fired. Plus, the head chef who fired her spreads evil gossip, and her reputation is ruined.

Chef Jill Adgate career has not gone as smoothly as she had hoped once she graduated culinary school. The first thing that started the wobbly path of a chef was an unfortunate accident involving a cake, a few tears, and the most heat intensive kiss she had ever experienced. A year and several jobs later, she has agreed to a blind date and finds the man who set her on her tumultuous career path.

Chet Castle has not forgotten the beautiful chef who unnerved him. Having been burned once before and

I read every single word of Bachelor’s Special in one night! It took me a minute to follow what happened in the restaurant, but once I did I was hooked… that could possible be to a glass of wine or two before reading (hehehe) No, really, it was a cute read and very hot at times.

The relationship between Chet and Jill is hot from the get go. I mean he walks in and sees her and kisses her to make her toes curl! When they are set up on a blind date, Jill hopes that Chet will not recognize her, but

After losing her job as a chef in an upscale restaurant due an unfortunate accident involving a birthday cake and a hot guy (it's not what you think), Jill finds that landing another job as lead chef in any local establishment is nearly impossible. Her actions with the hot guy have labeled her within the industry and she's been bouncing from one job after another when it turns out the restaurants don't want her for her talent in the kitchen but the talent they want from her in the bedroom. ...more

I tend to get excited when a local author comes up for review, so when I got a chance to read Bachelor’s Special – even though it really isn’t one of my normal genres – I jumped at it. I was pleasantly surprised to find a funny, snarky, and romantic story within this book.

Jill is a chef, and on the night of the birthday party for a very elderly woman two things happen. One she kisses the sexiest man she has ever laid lips on. And two, she drops the cake all over the floor. Both of these events

If you can stand the heat…read Bachelor’s Special! It is delightful, combining a few of my favourite things: delicious food, gorgeous men (or man), an original heroine and okay, a little bit of how’s your father!
As ever, Ms Warner’s writing is such a breath of fresh air. I almost sigh in pleasure when I settle down to read one of her books, and Bachelor’s Special was no different. Jill is a not-out-of-the-box heroine, her quirky 50’s style of dressing made me rethink my own wardrobe and her

4.5 Stars - Delectable tale of hot sexual tension, sizzling chemistry & smoldering romance

The heat turns up and the fire flares at the very beginning of the story. It brings to mind the adage, “If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.” Christine Warner mixes a delectable dish of hot sexual tension, sizzling chemistry, and smoldering romance, all wrapped up in a tantalizing love story.

Jill Adgate is a woman determined to be a success at her job and in her love life. But her dream

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Bachelor's Special and I am so thankful I did!
Jill Adgate has had the worst year of her life and it all stems back to Chet Castle and one steaming hot kiss.
Jill is a professional chef with dreams of happily ever after. Hers includes the white picket fence, children, a loving husband and success in her career as a chef.
Chet Castle has been burned by love and wants nothing to do with anything resembling a relationship.

Their paths cross one night while Jill

Jill was an easy character to love.Well how can I not love a girl who wears vintage clothes, cooks like an angel and whose really ambitious?Just after a few pages I was convinced that if I meet her in real life,we'll be quick friends.

The prologue starts out with Jill living her dream. The executive chef has put her in charge to run a party on her own and everything is going great. Enter Chet the son of the Grandmother the party is honoring. He's come back to the kitchen to praise her work and sparks fly.

Cut to one year later when her BFF has set her up on a "blind date". The person sitting on the other side of the table... Chet.

I thought the author had a really good sense of humor. Like everyone else I loved it when Jill

A fun summer read, I would suggest to friends.

I love Jill, she is strong willed and determined to attain her life's goals and to do it on her own. And then there's Chet...sigh... Chet. Sexy, wealthy, playboy, guarded.... Chet. These two come to meet and so starts the downward spiral of luck for Jill. It's an intense but brief encounter. Life happens, things get in the way, and it's about a year before they run into each other again on a "blind date". His brother, her best friend set them up,

Braine's Talk Supe review

I really love BACHELOR'S SPECIAL, Jill and Chet's love story was beyond cute I snuggled with the book last night. The conflict was a case of wrong assumptions so it wasn't the usual cliche we often find in romantic stories. The crux of the story was well drawn out and even if it turned out to be nothing but a false emergency, it did its job in as far as shaking Jill and Chet and giving them both a much needed attitude adjustment. Aside from the well-written plot,

Bachelor’s Special is a slightly uneven, but nonetheless entertaining story of the attraction between Jill Adgate, chef and possible catering service owner and Chet Castle, a businessman with trust issues. After an explosive first kiss before they even really know each other, Chet and Jill end up in close proximity when Chet hires Jill as a live-in chef. He denies his feelings for her. Living together pushes these feelings to the surface, and well, sparks and accusations fly fast and

This is the first book of Christine Warner’s I have read and I have a new author to add to my follow list! I kept seeing her books and now I am kicking myself for not reading her stuff sooner.

Jill and Chet are a sizzling couple. I love Jill’s take no bull attitude. It’s refreshing for a heroine to have an invisible pair of balls and not a wilted flower scared of her own shadow. I find that I enjoy the book a lot more with that aspect. And Chet is a hottie. Yes at times I wanted to shake him a

I might not be the biggest romance fan alive, but I still enjoy a steamy story from time to time. I knew right going into this book the romance aspect would definitely deliver, as the sparks were shooting between Jill and Chet upon first glance of each other. I will be honest ... at first Jill Adgate came out as a gullible chick to me, good thing she's not whiny and got a great style that I kinda warmed up to her quickly. Bachelor's Special is a fabulous, tasty summer read. The heroine Jill Adgate is spicy and quick. She is a strong, empowered woman who knows what she wants. This book was an attention getter from page one with a blind date gone wrong, but with a second chance, and don't we just love second chances! The attraction and sizzle between Jill and Chet leaps off the page and keeps you turning those pages to see what happens next. Humor, heat, witty and engaging dialogue...this little book has it all. Very well done!

A great read to get you in that romantic mood, maybe where there's a will there's a way and that it somehow, maybe proves, how love can conquer all. With a hunk like Chet any woman would be willing to take the risk...

An excellent and highly recommended read...
