Always falling for the wrong guy, Gracie Walker hasn't had much luck finding Prince Charming. She's reached a point where it's easier to forget about romance and focus on what's important: college, clubbing, and her friends.
But the best-laid plans don't always pan out as hoped.

Favorite Quotes:

He’d strolled over to me and used a cheesy pick-up line to get my attention. “Hi, my name is Milk. I’ll do your body good.” My response was beer coming out of my nose from laughter. Apparently, that was a turn-on for him.

The great thing about the South was there were a lot of gentlemen. Unfortunately, I never seemed to date any of them.

He moved to the underwear section and squealed when he found a pair of glow-in-the-dark underwear that said, Stay calm and call Batma

Let me just start off by saying this book was AMAZING!!!

Gracie has a bad habit of always falling for the wrong guys. She has been dating Hudson for a few weeks now and all seem fine and well but slowly he is starting to show signs he is not who he appears to be. Cam, Gracie's gay best friend (love him!!!!) even tries to warn her but she doesn't listen.

One night Gracie and her friends decide to go to a club where she meets Ashton. They have an instant connection and quickly become friends. Grac

This is a story of Gracie who at the beginning of the story is dating Hudson. A bad relationship that dissolves into a very abusive one she finds solace in Ashton who is friends with her best friend who she had a childhood crush on. Ashton becomes close friends and a support system that Gracie so needs but soon it starts to feel like more. This book is emotionally straining at times because of all the gut wrenching events. Be prepared going in. Look forward to Amy's next book
Secretly Adorkable Readers
"For the Love of Gracie" by Amy McClung is a New YA Romance that truly surprised me. It was definitely an emotional and thrilling read from beginning to end. There is an abusive relationship with a rape scene. Good story overall about true friendship, love, and survival. You will not be disappointed. Cannot wait for more from this series! Would love a story on MJ and Derrick :)

Wanted to like this book, but the plot just wasn't real. The ex-boyfriend thing was believable but everything else just seemed added to try to add drama. Made the book seem forced.

Wonderfully written story of friendship that knows no bounds and a love that is destined to be forever. This story will have your emotions on a roller-coaster, but mostly I found myself laughing at the lovable banter between the roommates..ok mostly it was Cameron who had me laughing the most because..come on...he is Camulous!!! I loved the bond between the 4 friends and I loved the heart that the lead characters had, not just for each other, but for everyone. Cameron is Gracie's gay bestie and ...more
This was the first book in the series and we have a great introduction into the characters. In the first book of the Southern Devotion series we meet Gracie. She's a sweet girl who has fallen for the bad boy, the kind of guy who seems nice but you know something just isn't quite right. Her friends try to get her to realize it but it takes a new member of the group, Ashton, to make her really see that something isn't good. Ashton (swoon). Ashton offers Gracie advice and friendship in a way she do ...more

I gave this book 4.5 stars!

I have found a new one click author!!!! I can't believe it took me so long to find this Amazing, talented author!!! I simply fell in love with her writing style, her storylines and her characters. I simply devoured this book in a matter of a couple of hours.

Gracie was always looking for love in the wrong places. Falling for the wrong guys and never having Prince Charming sweep her off her feet. When she meets a guy, he is

So for the past few years I have taken great measure to avoid these types of books. Why may you ask?.....because I'm single and I tend to compare every guy I meet with the perfect fictional ones. Amy McClung sent me this as a "loaner" threw an unfair contest on Facebook. Since you only get it for 14 days I figured I would pause on my other 4 current novels and read it. Not only was I shocked to be hooked within the first 2 chapters but I found I couldn't put this thing down.

Let me just start by saying WOW.....This book was absolutely amazing!! For Amy's first attempt at NA, I think she went above and beyond. I couldn't put this book down. Definitely read through it in less than 2 full days. The emotions throughout this book are extremely real and you can tell that Amy did her research. One of the things I love about Amy's books is that they keep you guessing until the very end. This story was no stranger to the twists and turns and that is what made it

For the love of Gracie was one of those books that you will remember. It was exceptionally well written, with wonderful characters.

There are a lot of moments where you feel like your heart is gonna stop beating from panic but rest assured everything works out and it's awesome. I laughed, had a few stray tears, smiled and felt all giddy. You will wanna shake Gracie more than once, junk punch Hudson, throw you arms cam, and devour ash.

Wow! This book is a 5 star rating for me, I would give a 10 if given the opportunity. From the beginning, we meet Gracie, I fell for her personality and her friendship with Cameron (her gay best friend). We also get introduced to Hudson. Its hard not to be captivated by this story. There was so much drama and so much emotion that ran throughout the book. Starting with one of my favorite quote book

“Someone may have several friends surrounding them at all times, yet can feel utterly alone.”

This book has two things that aren't really what they seem although I can't say what they are I can say I was very, very pleased with the outcome in BOTH circumstances. Hudson he has a tattoo so I found that of course hot, "he had a large dragon tattoo over his left shoulder that screamed 'bad boy'" Why yes it does why I didn't find hot was how he was hot one minute and cold the next I knew right from the start this boy was trouble, "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. I've had a rough week ...more

I loved this book. I got it free on Amazon and sometimes I find free books to be okay, but this book was Great. Gracie has the best group of friends, Angel and Mary Janen her roomates and Cameron her gay best friend forever. Cameron is hilarious throughout the book and a great best friend to Gracie. Gracie falls for the wrong men and then she meets Ashton. She assumes Ashton is gay because he is friends with Cameron's friend Gavin and hangs out in the gay bars with them. She falls hard for Ashto ...more

I was given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for and honest review. Well, here it is!

Gracie is funny, loving, and a great friend. This story made me laugh and cry, then I got angry, then I laughed and cried some more.
Gracie has had a not so pleasant history with guys which is a shame because she is a sweetheart. Her latest guy Hudson is the worst of the worst. He is possessive and abusive. When Gracie tries to break it off she finds herself and her friends in more danger than she ever imag

Gracie was cute, fiercely loyal, loving and funny. Her insecurities were endearing and made her real. While dating Hudson Gracie met Ashton through Cameron her gay best friend. Assumptions are made and Gracie fights a growing attraction for Ash while trying to head off Hudson’s jealous rages until the inevitable happens.

Ash was just so cute. It's so refreshing to come across a nice guy and a novel that doesn't sink into the carbon copy bad boy image to provide the angst. Yay.

Well, yay. I downloaded this book yesterday and just finished it. It was a really really amazing story. I couldn't put it down.

Gracie, what can I say about her. She garners a love/eh relationship with me. She is strong but definitely, and admitting mistakes, knows that just cannot find the guy. Hudson is *insert choice curse word here* and while she knows it she stays with him.

Ashton, well you just love him from the beginning. He is the whole reason I kept reading the story. He is my paper crush

After you read this book you will forget about Travis who and Ashton Collins will be the next book boyfriend. Gracie attracts all the wrong men until she meets Ashton. Gracie makes assumption that he is gay just because his best friend is gay but so is Gracie's. Gracie current relationship ends badly when she tries to break-up with him when she realizes she can no longer deny her feelings for Ashton. Will she be able to pick up the pieces of her life and move on with Ashton and Cameron (the best ...more

I really liked this book and all of the character relationships! Cameron is an awesome best friend to Gracie and knows even better than her what she needs when it comes to love.

Gracie has to go through so much drama and heartache, however the light at the end of the tunnel (in the form of her prince charming and her best friends) keeps her going.

Its a lovely read with many great quotes. For example... "What a bunch of cunning stunts you are! Feel free to rearrange the letters for what I really

I can't put in to words just how fantastic this book is. Grace goes through so much, thought she found the perfect man only to find out he's a monster. Ashton enters her life right as chaos begins to emerge, and because her knight in shining armor. Their chemistry is intense, and they fight it for the wrong reasons at first. For the Love of Gracie is a great read, and very well written. Full of angst, action, suspense, and romance, it has something for everyone. Highly recommend to anyone lookin ...more

Although For the Love of Gracie was not my favorite kind of story to read (Kinda like the friendships you'd see in Sex in the City- focused on fashion and gossiping), it was a good read. There was drama, secrets, angst (girly screaming, and yelling when mad or screaming when scared-- sigh), and a whole lot of misunderstandings. But, putting the verbal outbursts aside- I found the book well written, and I adored each of the people in this group of friends. I personally prefer more mature characte ...more

Okay now that I have a major book hangover after listening to the audiobook all night long, I can review. This story is wonderful. It really kept me intrigued through the whole thing. The writing was good and the characters were interesting. Like I said before, I preferred the Ebook, but I think that's because the narrators voice is not how I imagined Gracie and the fact that it was in first person meant that Gracie was the narrator. That being said, I give a 4 star to both the Ebook and the aud ...more

This was an amazing story that will definitely keep you interested. I absolutely LOVED this book and right now it's one of my favorites. I read this book in one day I just couldn't put it down I needed to know what was going to happen and how it was going to end. There were so many loveable characters in the book. My two favorites would be Ashton and Cameron of course! When reading the book you almost feel like your there. It was a very easy read with a bit of a love triangle.

I love this book! The concept of the story is GREAT! I love the characters.

The story was easy to relate and once you started reading it you can't put it down.
Gracie and Ashton's story is really romantic. The author really made a great job in making this book interesting and relate-able.

A really GREAT and FANTASTIC book! And DEFINITELY worth reading.

The book was ok. It was too much of a good thing. True she had a lot of bad things happen to her but it was too perfect when things started turning around for her. There were times when you thought awwwe that's so sweet but there were others (many others) when you were like just too perfect not realistic.

What a great read. Gracie is a beautiful young woman who is loved by many, but has a hard time living herself, until a wonderful, beautiful man comes into her life and changes it. There is pain, but there is also happiness and hope. Don't miss this book. I love Gracie-bug and you will too. I looked forward to MJ and Derrick' s story.

This story was a touching story about friendship, love and survival. Gracie was great with Ashton. All the characters were wonderful together. I love their devotion to each other. Hunter was crazy but I feel that the story could of had a bit more of his craziness. Ashton was my favorite character along with Cam. They were great. This story was well written and I really enjoyed it.
