Nicole Unice’s book “Not What I Signed Up For,” this re-telling of Joseph’s story mixed in with her storm and trials of life has been so life-giving!
We all walk through hard seasons when others look in from the outside; they see challenges to us in the midst of them, and it feels impossible to move forward. When we are in the waiting season and feel overwhelmed not knowing what the next steps will be you can trust
Yet God never leaves or forsakes us and is with us at every step. If we are faithful enough to keep going through the revelation, the other side will show us the growth we have endured. When life feels overwhelming with the grief and loss of the unknown, we can still find light as we read Joseph’s story and Nicole's life lessons!

This book changed my perspective on how to move through life’s challenges; she gives many good nuggets. I can’t wait for you to read this as well

I loved, loved, loved this book!!! This is a Must Read for anyone who is currently or has previously felt like where you are in life is not what you anticipated or not where you wanted to be. We have all experienced times when we question God about why we are going through a tough or unexpected time. Nicole is so open and honest about her experiences. I felt like I was sitting with a friend hearing about her life. I was drawn in from the beginning. The book it positioned around the life of Joseph and how we can relate to his life experiences through our everyday challenges. I pray that many will be blessed through the words of healing, encouragement and hope that Nicole shares through this book.

A Must Read for when you’ve gone through a dark season or are in the middle of one. In the midst of several major life issues right now at the same time, Not What I Signed up for has spoken deeply to me and helped me to realize that although I am not where I want to be, God is good and faithful and He is always with me. Joseph’s story is inspirational to see how he kept the faith and persevered despite all of his struggles. This book has shifted my mindset to look outward. God loves me and I pray that my dark season is used for His purpose.

In "Not What I Signed Up For" Nicole Unice has woven the story of Joseph with authentic life lessons from her own life that are so encouraging to anyone struggling to find purpose in unexpected seasons. The book has a forward progression that helps see how fear and uncertainty can be replaced with strength and hope. Nicole’s book “Brave Enough” was very powerful in my life several years ago and this new book has helped me to further process some past seasons of my life that were marked with regret and shame and to find peace and freedom. Nicole’s style is very authentic and it feels like I’m sitting down with a friend. (Or walking with one when I listen to her audiobook!)

This book is wonderfully written. I love all of Nicole’s books. She is real and honest. She makes you feel like you aren’t alone with your emotions.

Nicole does an excellent job of helping us relate our own unexpected seasons to Joseph’s unexpected trials. Life is often full of things we don’t expect and to be able to learn new ways of thinking and coping is priceless. So happy I read this book. It is a good reminder that God will help us and use our seasons to bring forth good things.
