OMG, THE FEELS! I DON'T THINK THAT I CAN WAIT TILL 2015! I NEED MORE SSSSSSSKKKKKKKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, now that I mostly got that out, damn it all to heck! Why, Sky, oh why would you do that?!

This is pretty much my reaction to the book. All. Throughout. The. Book.

I AM GOING TO GO CRAZY!

One Night With a Rock Star is an epic tale of meeting someone who you have dreamt about for a while, then falling in love with them, then having them ripped away for you. But, as you try to move on, you keep seeing them in everything that you do. It is a truly, truly wonderful book! It is wonderfully written, and even though this probably won't happen in real life, you can find that you relate to the main character, because her feelings for Sky are real feelings that normal people have and it just makes you want to root for them to be together, and in the end everything is explained about why he did what he did and I think that that is a good things for novels to have. I am going to go cry now, because after you finish the book on Kindle, there is a glimpse into the second book, and now I am terrified of what is going to happen, and I feel so bad for both Esther and Sky, and I'm just caught in a wave full of FEELS! OH. MY. GOD. I AM GOING TO DIE. Someday, I will be found dead in my bedroom, and the cause of my death will be to much stress on my heart from it always skipping a beat when something exciting happens in books. WAY TO GO AUTHORS FOR KILLING ME!! If you have not read it, I am tell you to stop what you are doing, go to Amazon.com and by One Night With a Rock Star. And, it's free. Go do it. You WILL NOT regret it!

Wow, I'm not sure where to begin. ONE NIGHT WITH A ROCK STAR by CHANA KEEFER is now on my list of all time favorite books. What an honor and privilege to have read this captivating story.

The prolog had me a little confused, as they often do. I then moved on to the story where I was immediately swept away. There's something to be said about first person, and MS. KEEFER did an amazing job. The one thing I don't like about first person is the lack of the hero's perspective. What MS. KEEFER did in regards to this dilemma was nothing short of amazing. Her writing is brilliant, with many great lines, a real page-turner.

ONE NIGHT WITH A ROCK STAR is county meets rock at its best, with a touch of Cinderella, in a unique and refreshing way. I loved the vast differences of the main characters lives and how Sky was drawn to the innocents of Esther's world.

The plot is wonderful, with characters that come to life, and will have you falling in love with then. What female hasn't dreamt of meeting a rock star, and having a relationship with them?

In reading THE END, I was okay with it. It was a good ending. Not great, just good. Good only because it left me feeling as if there should be something more. As I turned from what I thought to be the last page, I was treated to a, P.S. Kind of a mini epilog. Suddenly I needed to go back and reread the prolog. When I did, it brought tears to my eye as the realization hit me.

But if that wasn't enough, I started to read the excerpt to the sequel. My first thought, what could the author possibly do with a continuation. As I read each page, automatically absorbed into the next story, it happened. I actually gasped. I don't think I've ever experience a glimpse into a sequel as riveting as the one to ONE NIGHT WITH A ROCK STAR.

Hurry up and get here, 2015.

I must find out what happens!

I love to discover authors that are new to me. So when I saw the title of this book (One Night with a Rock Star) and found out that it was a free download I hoped I was in for a treat.

You see, I didn't read any of the reviews, I was expecting the usual hard and heavy sex, tattooed bad boy meets (mostly) good girl and shows her what's she's missing! Instead I discovered something totally different but that still held me enthralled from beginning to end and that I could barely put down until I had finished it.

Esther's faith and her relationship with God is a very important part of her, and her family's, life. She has very set ideas on what she wants and the one thing she is totally sure of is no sex before marriage.

Her rock star crush, Sky, has a "gutter press" reputation, no real religious convictions and has been previously married although is now divorced.

Match made in Heaven? Sure doesn't sound like it does it? But Chana Keefer managed with her writing to pull me into the emotional roller coaster that starts with Esther managing to sneak backstage at one of Sky's concerts and not only managing to meet her heartthrob but catches his eye to the extent that she ends up dancing with him on stage at the concert and ........ NO I'm not going to spoil it by saying any more on that!

The Prologue to the book had me hoping for a HEA - the P.S. at the end kept me in the happy bubble that the whole book had held me captured in. As I continued to turn the pages I read Chana's story of how the book came into being (quite a journey in itself). Then to my delight I found the "Excerpt to the Sequel" and tore straight in to it. The final page had my heart in my throat needing to know what happened next only to read the very final line "Look for the sequel in 2015". 2015? Seriously? So I shot straight on to Amazon hoping to 1Click book 2 hoping against hope that this was a mistake but nope nothing there :( Boy oh Boy I hope Chana manages to write faster and get book 2 out before then because I NEED to know what happens next and where Petra comes into the story.

Wow what an amazing book. It had everything, heartbreakingly sad moments that made tears well in my eyes, happy loving moments that made tears well in my eyes, and anxious scary moments too. People need to read this book, you will feel everything in this book.
It was beautiful ending. I got excited to see a sneak at the sequel until it ended where it ended. How Gould the author leave us there. My heart is left in the pit of my stomach. I hope the next book is out now or soon.

I came to know Ms. Chana Keefer through her awesome Christian fantasy novel THE FALL, which retells the story of Lucifer, Adam and Eve through the eyes of Rapha, an angel who was once Lucifer's best friend. When I heard that she was getting ready to release a book called ONE NIGHT WITH A ROCK STAR, I felt like I was gonna be in for another treat. I'm a huge rock fan and a follower of Christ, so this book sounded like a must-read. And believe me, it is. When I got the chance to read it in advance and review it, I jumped right to it.
ONE NIGHT WITH A ROCK STAR tells the story of a good ol'fashioned country gal, Esther, who has a crush on rock icon Sky. Thing is, it's not your typical corny romance. It's a complex, thought-provoking novel about 2 people from very different worlds. An emotional roller-coaster with characters that stay with the reader long after the book's been closed. Esther, Sky,young lovable imp Jeremiah, charming old lady Helena, and others who I'll leave you the pleasure of discovering for yourselves, serve as the cast for a tale of love, fame and responsibility that will have you cheering, smiling, laughing, crying, and above all, praising God. If I were to describe what this book is all about in 8 words(what I call my "lucky number", I'd say : God is the ROCK ON which I stand. Read this book. It's worth it. You won't want it to end. (It doesn't, or at least the story doesn't end in what seems to be a first book in an awesome series). Thank you, Ms. Keefer. Heaven of a job, if I may say so! 10 outta 5! Hurry up, 2015!

"One Night With a Rock Star" is such an intriguing title...most of us at one point in our lives could have inserted a famous name readily into that role, and fantasized about the possibilities. In ONWARS, Esther has to make a difficult choice as a young girl faced with a dream come true, colliding with the hard truth of giving away her innocence to achieve that dream...or does she? What would it feel like to try being true to your beliefs in the face of the greatest possible temptation? Esther struggles with her choice and we can certainly identify with her emotions, wherever we are in our faith journey. Sky is no ordinary rock star, thankfully, and the story doesn't end after one night.

Once again Chana Keefer paints such a lyrical picture of time and place that we are transported there and never want to leave, from the barns of Texas, to the misty Scottish Highlands. I read ONWARS in one day and didn't want it to end. I can't wait for the sequel!

What does a 20 year old Christian woman do when she gets to meet the man of her dreams--a gorgeous, talented rock star, whose lifestyle leaves no room for God or faith? If they fall in love, will she abandon her faith and all her Godly convictions so she can fit into his rock star life? Or will her convictions change his mind and heart? This is such an angst-filled/hope-filled/fantasy-filled love story and well worth the read. I'm so impressed by Chana Keefer's storytelling and creation of lovable characters and interesting plot that kept me reading and wondering how it was all going to end. I can't say enough good things about this inspirational romance or its talented author.

This book is in my top five of my all-time favorites. The story is absolutely incredible and I loved every second of it. What an awesome love story between two very special characters and between them and God.

I read it the other day for the second time and enjoyed it even more. Caught many things that I did not the first time around.

I highly recommend this book. Grab a box of Kleenex and settle in because you will not want to put it down until you have completed it!!!

Chana...what can I say? You already know how much I love this book and how much it means to me. Can't wait for the sequel.

This book was a change from what I normally read. The difference was that this book does not contain sex or violence. In fact it is totally free from all of the stereotypical stuff found in regular rock star books. I liked it was different and I could read it without worrying if my children were going to see it or not. However I like the dark stuff it adds to a story but it didn't deter me either way.

A girl is a homebody who never changes her routine for anyone. She is nerdy, and an all around gpood girl until her friend and roommate convince her to go to a concert for Sky. She wants to go because of his music that brought her out of her misery but she is nervous about going backstage. When she meets him she sees him as more than the rock star that she idolized.

At first I was a little disappointed about the good girl because I hoped it was a rouse but when I got deeper into the story I realized maybe that this is what was needed to be different.

Sky turns her away due to her family and lifestyle that he feels she isn't suited for and stays away until she graduates. As they meet up we see that Sky isn't the alpha male that he shows everyone. When they finally come together we see that their feelings and the electricity scares them however Esther is tired of playing games she wants him and se wants him to acknowledge it.

Overall the story ends on a cliffhanger and we are left wondering whether the couple is really going to live HEA or not. I thought it was brilliant in some ways but it aggravated me to no end in other ways.

*sigh* I don't even know where to begin.
<3 LOVE LOVE LOVE <3 This book!!!

I found this book through my Bookbub emails and the title captured my attention immediately!
What can I say without giving away too much?

What is a 20 yr old Christian girl (Esther) to do when she literally meets the ROCKSTAR (Sky) of her dreams and they actually form a connection? How does faith play into all of this? How does she walk away or does she? ;-)

I laughed, I cried, I got angry and even yelled out loud at Sky! lol and oh the ANGST!! I was like "are they going to kiss or what?!?!?!?" lol

This writing transported me back in time, to a place where I could vividly see myself as Esther.

I loved how their relationship grew and how it was not just some insta-love, but it had the ups & downs, even if at one time it seemed too good to be true.

I LOVE the Christian references and feel it was well blended into the story and appeared at all the right places at the right times. I loved Sky's transformation..if that's the word I'm looking for.

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE??? THE CLIFFHANGER!!!!!!! OH> MY> STARS>!!!! HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO WAIT UNTIL 2015 FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS!!! AGHHHH!!!

It was so real to me, I hated when this book came to an end..having major book hangover right now!!!!
With all that said, AWESOME read Mrs. Keefer! This one is now one of my all-time favorites!! :) I think I will just have to re-read over and over until the 2015 released ;-)

Genre: romance
Author: Chana Keefer
Book: One Night With a Rock Star
My Star Rating: 3
Will I read I read it again?

Intro: Good, Country-bred girl meets the Rock Star of her dreams and worlds collide.

For Esther Collins, struggling journalism student and mediocre print model, international singing star Sky has been the ultimate male since she sported frizzy hair, braces and too-skinny legs. She has dreamed of meeting this icon countless times. But life has a way of happening when you least expect it... and of coming in hues that don't fit so easily into simple black and white.

Will Esther's deep roots in family and God keep her feet on the ground when a tornado named Sky blows her world apart?

I felt that this book started off way too slow! And the beginning of it was kind of confusing. Also this book needs to be edited more because I found some errors.
BUTT, I grinned like a school girl when Sky brought Esther up on stage and danced with her. It was sigh worthy.
Lets see what the next book will bring.

I was truly surprised how much I enjoyed One Night With A Rock Star.

I had read some of the reviews and was a little apprehensive but I truly could not put it down! Not my regular reading material there is no sex what so ever but I could feel the yearning in Esther as she stopped fighting the feelings every young woman feels.
I felt it was a well explained story after I accepted so much of the story was Esther's faith in God. And I felt every emotion Esther felt with her fascination and crush on Sky. Please do not give up on this book it is a wonderful love story with of course broken hearts and some intense moments that just had me saying wow! I found myself at times not caring for Esther's father but in the end I could see his points. Grams oh how I loved Grams. In my opinion this is a MUST READ!

I read this book twice - an uncommon thing for me - back in 2013. Eight years later, it still holds a place in my heart. Without re-reading (again), I can't say for sure how well it'd hold up to a reader who is now a writer, but I can say that this story of a wholesome faithful girl (Esther) with immovable convictions who influences a worldly rock star (Sky) inspired me in my own writing and hit all the right romance buttons, showing real human attraction and sexuality without comprising principles.

As I think about it now, I realize that One Night with a Rock Star got right what one of the most influential movies of my childhood, Grease, got wrong. Principles shouldn't collapse for "love." Love should rise to meet those principles. And maybe that's why one reason why I loved this story so much. And who doesn't love a rock star romance?

First time - date unknown Did not know what I was getting into but ended up really liking this book! I liked the writing style. I liked the characters and I think the best compliment is that I think I could be friends with them as they seemed that real! Particularly liked the honesty in the heroine. I also very much appreciated the clean nature of the book despite the music business venue it was partially set it. My biggest complaint is that the sequel is supposed to come out in 2015? What?
2nd time April 13 2015- read in prep of part two. Still good.
3rd time August 13 2018 - a quick reread for fun. Great. This time I contemplated how I felt about dad’s request and if I agreed with it.

One Night With a Rock Star, by Chana Keefer, kind of snuck up on me, convincing me more and more that I'd like it if I just kept reading. All the characters' accents sang in my mind as I read. And by the time the hymn It Is Well With My Soul appeared on the page I had a steady stream of tears rolling down my cheeks. Yet again, Ms. Keefer has penned a classic. And yet another of her books kept me up far too late!

What an absolutely wonderful Christian romance. I inhaled the story that magically weaves reality, the rock world, doing good works and a young girl saving herself for the right man.

The descriptions of the scenes, characters, even their accents bring this book to life. I can easily see this being made into a movie, could we have Jon Bon Jovi play Sky?

I have to say this was a good book. It is a Love Story but not like I have read before. you get the passion heartache, Love and Struggle to deal with Life of a Rocker. It has No sex scenes but it doesn't need it. Esther and Sky is a story to read and enjoy. I can not believe I will have to wait so long for part 2.

I was late for work today because I was reading this book. Then during the day I would pull the book up on my Kindle app on my phone to continue reading. One of the sweetest, loveliest books that I have read in a long time.
If you are looking for a simple love story, filled with real emotion and relatable characters, yet a little bit of rock star fantasy, please, please pick this book to read.

beware, this is a Christian book.. and i was not informed. I absolutely loved it, however, until Esther was trying to convert everyone around her into being Christian also. which I didn't like. ugh. but anyways. all religious parts of this book aside, it was great. and there's a sequal, which is even better. let's hope its as good as this one.. maybe a little less churchie though. :P

I really enjoyed reading this book. Esther was such a fun character: real with flaws and all, but fun and strong, someone who is relatable to any young Christian woman who is struggling to live in a world where she is often negatively labeled with being the "good girl". The hero, Sky, was funny and charming as well. An entirely lovable protagonist, who is assured of his ability to sweep one off their feet.

The book was fast paced, with lots of detailed plot, although a little long. I was impressed with the character growth, as admittedly, I didn't feel like the characters acted their ages until much later in the book, which then felt much more natural. For the most part the secondary characters are in depth and interestingly drawn.

The story was definitely a love story, but it was sweet and fun and exciting, as well as clean. I usually struggle with reading Christian romances because they are often trite and unrealistic and a bit heavy handed. I didn't feel that way with this book. Yes, thank The Lord, it was clean, but it was exciting and there were definitely fun moments between the h and H.
The author had many clever lines and a natural control of language that made the book all the more enjoyable. The author developed the plot well, the story was almost plausible!

My one complaint would be the huge gaps between when the h and H saw each other. Those were definitely the best parts, but they were separated by quite a lot of other plot that was good, but not what I was interested in. I wish there had been more to the ending, after all the hard work to get there, the ending seem abrupt.

Well, this was different. Part of the novel's plot was suspenseful and intriguing. At the same time, parts of the novel seemed overly detailed and almost too descriptive. But I actually "read" the story by listening to my kindle read it to me as I drove so I may have picked up on things from listening that I would have missed by reading it. I liked that it was set in the late 80s and liked the way the author tried to show the beauty of an uncomplicated life through contrasting Esther and Sky's experiences.

I found myself wanting to park a few times and just listen to the rest of the story, but I had to go to work. So it held my attention despite the fact that I didn't "read" it with my eyes. The plot was a bit far fetched, but it's fiction so I didn't mind suspending reality for the sake of the story. The author was trying to show that waiting for the right relationship and sticking to purity as a goal is very attractive to guys when it comes like issues of marriage and family.

The author also did a great job of showing how empty a rock star's life can be. The heroine was a bit whiny and overly emotional at times, but I appreciated the author trying to pull in the reader through the five senses. The spiritual thread was pretty strong in the book and I have to say the whole turning to faith on the Rock Star's end was sweet. I may have liked the story more if I have read it instead of listening to it being read to me, but regardless, it held my interest to the end and I finished the book with a smile on my face.

To begin I must explain myself for a moment. I've never been the person who "stays in bed all day reading a good book". I actually often tell of how reading is difficult for me and I can't seem to make myself do it even though I think books are wonderful. I have had a distinct disconnect with reading since fourth grade. I maybe read one book a year, or get a chapter or so in and give up... So, when I say that I sat up all night enthralled by a book to the point of words blurring before finally going to sleep at 8 am only to wake hours later hungering to finish my read, you can now understand the meaning of those words. I had known about this book for years and a hard copy had been perched on my desk staring at me for a about a year. It was a book I wanted badly to read, but, as foretold above, you can see my dilemma. One night I decided I would force myself to push past my disconnect with reading and delve into the pages I wanted so badly to experience. This was not hard as I became entranced. The story unwinding before me captured my attention and spoke softly to my heart as the life of Esther unwound. As I was reading I was filled with a peace that only comes from God and I don't have the ability to describe. Chana's heart - the Father's heart - is evident and unmistakable. I am so thankful for this piece of encouragement and love in the midst of decisions and circumstance facing me. Peace in the midst of a storm.

I have to admit I know the author... <3 Chana... but that honestly did not sway my opinion of the book at all. I downloaded the book off Amazon Kindle onto my ipod a while ago, but kept putting off reading it because I had "actual" physical books to read (I'm still not completely on board with ebooks), but I finally decided to start it. One of the best decisions ever! I absolutely fell in LOVE with this book. I reserve my 5 stars for the very best, so this book is special. The entire story was extremely well-written and kept me up a bit too late a few nights. If it wasn't for all my homework I would have finished it in a day! I could totally see myself in Esther, having grown up in the church my whole life and always being known as the goody-two-shoes. It was nice to finally read a romance novel where the main character stands up for herself and her beliefs, and the guy respects it, and its all believable. And I love how every character is multifaceted, each with their own problems and back stories. My favorite character had to be Jeremiah, the little nephew of Sky. His goofiness and innocence was just adorable.
Thank you so much Chana for writing a book that I can shamelessly recommend to my friends. And thank you for being a woman of faith that I can look up to :)
P.S. The excerpt from a the sequel was just cruel. Now I am dying to read the next one ;)
