Sorry, I had to stop reading when the Hero came to town after a long separation of 5 years with the heroine...they loved each other and lost they virginity together and that was very sweet, but then the Hero left for war without any promise of them being together even at a distance, he did not contact her nor write to he and suddenly after 5 years he appeared in her home town expecting her to just cave back to him...with no explanation about his whereabouts and why he was silence for

GOOD: The characteristics of a 3 star book include: interesting characters, a decent storyline, and unique story elements; there was something about the story that I didn’t completely connect with; the book is a solid read. I would recommend it to a friend.
This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

My Thoughts:
Coming Back to You was sweet and sad because of the overall subject matter of the story. PTSD is raw and real and I give Ms. Youngblood much credi

** Contains Spoilers** This is a WOW for me, 2 reason first time author and she tackles a the huge issue of PTSD. Having personally worked at a military facility I have a soft spot for all military men and women that put themselves in harms way for us! Ms Youngblood gets kudos for both truly, she also writes this story from both POV of the characters, in the one book. Our main characters are Maura and Pierson who where high school sweethearts and each others firsts for everything... They had a l ...more

This book was an okay read for me. In fact not much more happens than the blurb states. Long lost love returns after going to war and telling his girl to not wait for him. She doesn’t, but of course can never get over him. He returns home and claims to have never forgotten nor have gotten over her. Pierson has some serious PTSD issues though which prolongs his return. His readjustment to civilian life makes things a bit hairy and scary at tim

This book is about second chances and one part of the book totally reminded me of "The Notebook." To say Maura is still upset that happened to her and Pierson in the past is saying it lightly, "well, look what the cat dragged in. It's so nice to see you after all these years." Pierson is still gung-ho for his girl though, "I saw you here the other night, and tonight was about all I could handle. I don't want you dancing with anyone else." He's also possessive, "I haven't either, so what's the pr ...more

I received an ARC of Coming Back to You in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this story. I love how the author was able to write a love story that stayed true to the heart. These characters are learning to deal with real life issues, that any normal couple would have to experience in their situation. She didn't sugar coat it and I love that about her. The more I read, the more I kept rooting for the couple to work out their differences, which kept me wanting to read more to ...more

Coming Back To You is a very sweet love story that touches on a subject you won't find in most romance books, PTSD. I love that the author really went there and let us into the mind of Pierson and what he was struggling with. As always I never give spoilers but I really enjoyed this book, it was well written and I look forward to reading more from this author.

This is a pretty intense book. It actually talks about a subject most other books just scratch the surface of. PTSD. A disease that is widely known but not yet fully understood.

The story starts with Maura and Ruby who have been best friends since 9th grade go to a the new night club that just opened in their small town. Out with girlfriends, drinking and dancing, Maura swears she sees someone who left her five years prior. Trying to see again, he was gone, so her and Ruby de

The writing feels stifled, almost like Maura is talking to a group of people she doesn’t know and is nervous. I hoped that this would improve throughout the book but it never really does. As a result the book never really flows for me and at various points through the book it felt more like Maura was simply reading off her shopping list. If scenes were given more to flesh them out the story would flow more freely and feel more comfortable f

This is the first book that I have read from this author. There were quite a few things in this book that I was so disappointed that the author did.
Don't get me wrong I am no expert on PTSD but the way she portrayed someone suffering from it was so wrong. When Pierson woke up to him choking Maura he was naturally freaked out. The part that really made me mad was, Maura knew he wasn't aware of what he was doing and yet she acted like he did it on purpose. Even contemplated calling the police. Rea

This is a story about Maura and Pierson and how Pierson leaves to go into the military leaving Maura behind. Maura is now 23 and has lost her parents and is working as a cater and Pierson shows back up in her life to win her back. I loved Pierson he may have his issues with the war but for the most part he is a tentative lover and he would do anything for Maura to make her happy. Maura is a little hesitant to get back with him but I love that she gives it a shot and follows her heart while still ...more

I was privileged enough to have been gifted this as an ARC and all I can say is, "Wow!"

Ms. Youngblood really captured a true to life issue that can curse our soldiers as well as the effects that issue has on those who love them.

Maura's life was anything but easy. Pierson, the love of her life dumps her just before leaving for the Marines, ending all contact. Then, her parents are tragically taken from her. Struggling to maintain, Maura finishes college and begins a catering company.

Coming Back to You by Devon Youngblood is almost like reading two books in one. The story that she writes is timely and addresses the real, modern day problem of a young, military man returning from being deployed. The heroine, Maura, has made attempts to live her life after the loss of her first love when he left for the Marines as well as the loss of her parents. However, she still holds a place in her heart for Pierson Hammer. When Pierson returns to their small hometown after being gone for ...more

This is Devon Youngblood's first novel. It's a love story about Maura and Pierson.
Pierson has returned after many years away serving in the Marines. He returns with PTSD. Maura also recently lost her parents.
I adored the start of this book.
However, I took an immediate dislike to Maura and the way she treated Pierson following the first real event that displayed the effects of his PTSD. I hoped this would change throughout the book. However, she didn't really redeem herself.
I loved Pierson, howev

What an awesome debut novel from Devon Youngblood! I love Maura and Pierson, I felt as if I knew them personally by the way that the characters were written. My heart ached for Pierson and everything that he was going through and I kind of wish Maura was just a tiny bit more understanding to that. But that's what made this book so real in it's telling because the characters didn't always behave the way that we "expected" them to. I loved that this was a realistic book about two normal people dea ...more

Pierson has returned from the war zone with demons breathing down his neck and PSTD. He came home to find his high school sweetheart, Maura, hoping to reconnect once again. But nothing is ever as easy or simple as you think it is. This book shows us a little of the ravages war can have on a person and the battles that they can face in the aftermath, and the recovery needed. Recurring nightmares that leave him tormented and her afraid for her life are only some the obstacles this couple face and ...more

A book you dont want to miss out on.

I have never read a book dealing with PTSD. But now that I have, I cant believe what people actually go through after the military. Coming Back To You, really touched my heart and how Maura protected him. This book shows how love really is, when all you want is the other person to be okay and help save each other.

Coming Back To You ~ is an wonderful romance. You can feel the connection between Maura and Pierson from the start. From them dealing with his past

I so loved this book. It was one of those books where I got annoyed when I got interrupted reading it!!
This book had it all... It had a warm feeling to it yet angsty in other parts! No cliffhanger certainly was a bonus for me:)
This book also covered an important topic which isn't talked about enough.. Of course you need to read it to find out:)

A friend of mine read this book and I loved her review, so begged to read this book. I am so happy she agreed for me to read this. I really felt for both the people in this book, the girl from one angle and the man from the other, so difficult to say what I would have done in this situation. What situation? you will have to read this to find out.

I think the author tackled this subject very very well indeed. What subject?

5 amazing stars for this book. This was an amazing book, wow I was so into this book and I couldn't put it down. It has a great message in this book its about PTSD. Maura is my favorite female character, she was strong, and loving and she stuck by her man through his rough time. This book was heartbreaking when you find out about Pierson. He is also a very strong character, what he battles with is so hard. Highly recommended this book and I can't wait to read more from this author. <3

Maura at one time had the perfect life for a young woman. She had parents, a best friend & a handsome boyfriend. Pierson left right after graduating to go to the marines. What he does tears Maura apart but she starts a business & it helps her keep busy. Years later Pierson is home. He struggles with being in the war. Can he & Maura piece back their lives & move on.

This is a great love story. It kinda took me back to my military wife years.

Dealing with the relevant and complex issue of PTSD, this love story was a sweet but emotional read that kept it real. There was no over the top dialog or situations, I felt like I was reading a true story. Pierce’s POV was my favorite! Overall the writing flowed making it an easy, enjoyable read – and some of the book was so well written, I was very impressed. This author has what it takes; I am looking forward to reading her next book!

Really enjoyable. It seemed rushed though... Everything happened so quickly. The ending was especially speeded through. Plus the same scene is written almost word for word because of the dual pov.... Would have been fine only using one. The epilogue didn't add anything. Other than that I liked this book and look forward to other books by this author

I really loved the topic of this story. It was different then most books. I enjoyed the characters. I really felt for Pierson and what he was going through. I especially love stories with the characters having a past, so that appealed to me. Good job taking on a topic that isn't touched in most books. Looking forward to reading more from Devon!
