I found this book to be incredibly helpful. Lots of tips and tricks for not only the wedding, but in dealing with vendors as well. Asking the right questions before even meeting with a potential vendor to make sure they are LGBT+ friendly.
I have completely read the book through once, and plan to reread it chapter by chapter (month by month) leading up to my fiancé and my’s wedding to keep us in check and on task with what we should be doing at that time. Some things I might do a little sooner than Coveney Smith says it should happen. Such as sending out wedding invites three months prior rather than one to two months prior. Or start wedding dress shopping sooner than seven months out. But the way I see it, better sooner rather than later when it comes to something like your wedding.
I also appreciate her money saving tips and diy options. My fiancé and I plan to do a lot of diy things. Like the flowers. We’re going to use fake flowers so that they stay pretty and are cheaper than fresh flowers. (I’m actually surprised this wasn’t a suggestion given all her tips and green suggestions) We also are fortunate enough to have people who we can call upon to help, such has hair and makeup, that will save us money. (Don't worry, just because they're friends and family doesn't mean we won't pay them well!)
Definitely recommend this book to all LGBT+ people who
