Dawn's life can only be described as ghastly. She walks in a twilight world, unable to face the day, a woman who 'man's' the night shift, night after night. As the broken bodies are brought in, there is no balance, no day to balance the night, no health to balance the sickness. The loss of her husband and child has left her a wife without a husband and a mother without a child. A woman without a life. As a nurse, her commitment to the patients injured in emergency is commendable. But does she ha ...more

Finding the man of your dreams during your teenager years is very rare, okay not so rare but holding onto that love found is a complete different story.

You are both still young and have hopes and dreams, and if the dreams don't meet up in the middle there really is no chance of the relationship working.

In this read from author Nicole Flockton she tells the story of Dawn, she once met the man of her dreams but then he went off seeking adventure and left her behind. She dealt with the pain and hea

In Rescuing Dawn by Nicole Flockton
Andrew Holmes left Nicole after dating her for two years. He told her he was going to follow his dreams of sailing around the world and he didn’t know when he would be back. After a near death experience at sea he returns home to become a Paramedic and comes face to face with the woman he never forgot.
Dawn Granger never truly got over the young man who walked away from her. He had been her entire life. And when Andrew left so did a big piece of her heart. Aft

Rescuing Dawn, a 2013 June Crimson Reads release, took me on the heartfelt journey of Dawn, a nurse who has lost everything in the world that was precious to her. A very good looking blast from her past rolls in thru the emergency doors and like all good paramedics do, Andrew decides he will put 100% effort into a rescue, the rescue of Dawn.

I wouldn’t want to be in Dawn’s shoes and think that the author did a great job of describing how one may feel being in such a situation. I liked Andrew’s ch

Once in a while, I read a book that takes me on a journey I’m not expecting. It’s my own fault. I often don’t read back cover blurbs and simply dive in. From the cover of Rescuing Dawn by Nicole Flockton, I knew this was a romance set in the medical arena, but it was also so much more.

Dawn Granger is an ER nurse, who works the lonely night shift. She’s been working nights for several years, using the isolation of the odd hours to cut herself off from the world. She suffered a heartbreaking trage

Rescuing Dawn is a fabulous second book in Nicole Flockton’s medical romance series. Nicole once again takes you inside the ER, where senior evening nurse Dawn Granger, runs into new paramedic Andrew Holmes who just happens to be the love of her life. Unfortunately for Dawn, he left her years ago when they were younger to pursue a passion. While he was sailing around the globe, Dawn had moved on, gotten married and had a child. However, a tragic turn of events led to her losing both.

The second in this series of semi-medical romances, Rescuing Dawn is a follow up to Masquerade, Sophie and Alex's story.

Dawn is on eternal night duty which makes everyone grateful but she is really doing it to avoid life. Two years ago she lost her husband and infant son and she's chosen to cut herself off from family and friends. Focussing on her career at night and sleeping through the days is easier than picking up the threads after her terrible loss.

Until the night her first love, Andrew wal

I truly enjoyed this book. It is the story of a beautiful young woman, Dawn, who looses her family in a tragic accident. Not being able to climb out of her grief, she buries herself in her job as an Emergency Room nurse. One night a very handsome paramedic comes back into her life, Andrew, who was the true love of her life. Sadly Andrew left her many years ago to follow his dream. Can Dawn and Andrew find their way back together again? You will have to read this beautifully written, sweet, love ...more

Nicole Flockton is another author I’ve been reading in the lead up to the Romance Writers of Australia conference. I’m glad I found Nicole’s work, as Rescuing Dawn is the second in a series (that can be read entirely successfully as a standalone) that is set in my home town of Perth. Another bonus is that it has a medical theme (love these types of books) and that’s pretty realistic. (I say not 100% realistic because as part of my research for this review, I strolled past an ambulance bay and no ...more

Author Nicole Flockton has written another tender and sweet love story in her newest release, Rescuing Dawn, that captured my attention right from the beginning. I could not wait to read Dawn's journey as she tries to overcome the tragic loss of her husband and child to find love again with her high school sweetheart, Andrew. Their breakup was not good as Andrew walked away for the thrill of adventure, but now he's back as a paramedic and encounters Dawn as she works the Emergency Room. You can ...more

Rescuing Dawn provided me with a real life trauma situation. Dawn is an ER nurse who works the night shift. She works nights for a purpose, but for that purpose comes a tragic story. One that includes a drunk driver killing her Husband Tom and her 8 month old son Brody in a car accident.
In a time before marriage there was Andrew. Her College Sweetheart. Andrew was a thrill seeker and after school for him he hit the open seas instead of starting a life with his , Dawn.
Now fast forward 10 years

Dawn lost her husband and her son in an auto accident and she suffered the survivor's guilt that everyone experiences. After their death, Dawn contemplates suicidal. Then Andrew comes into her life, a high school sweetheart. Dawn experiences guilt that loving Andrew is not being loyal to her husband's and her son's memory.
I could relate to this book. A decade ago, my husband died of liver cancer. I contemplated suicide after his death, not because I wanted to die, I wanted the constant pain to

Nicole Flockton delivers again! Rescuing Dawn is beautiful as a stand-alone story, but even richer if you also read Masquerade. It was so fun revisiting Sophie and Alex and getting a hint of what's in store for Phoebe. Enough about Masquerade, though, Ms. Flockton's new release is a sexy but emotional reunion romance, but it's so much more than that.
In Rescuing Dawn, we delve deeper into the events that led Dawn to submit herself to endless night shifts where she's an emergency room nurse. We fi

In Rescuing Dawn by Nicole Flockton, Dawn Granger has been living a monotonous life for the past two years since her husband and baby’s death. She has kept away from all her family and friends saying that she is okay, but all she does is work, eat andsleep. She has no personal life beyond that, her life as a nurse defines her.

Andrew Holmes used to love to sail, to the point that he left his one true love in order to sail around the world competing. But after an accident where his best friend and

I wasn't that impressed with this book. Dawn kept living in the past so much that it kept hampering her from moving forward with Andrew. Andrew never pushed her on it either, instead choosing to keep secrets of his own. This was not a trusting relationship by any means, and yet they're exchanging "I love you"s that seem to be based on lust alone. It didn't ring true for me. I was mostly entertained throughout the story, and it wasn't all bad, but I felt it could be a lot more, especially if they ...more

Another beautiful romance from Nicole Flockton. This sweet story of renewed love after tragedy is heartwarming and lovely. The relationship between the main characters is one of learning to trust again. The story was nicely written with a slow steady build up and a touch of steam. Just the way I like them.

This one had a little more to it than Masquerade, the first in the series. It was a quick and easy read. Nothing spectacular, but nothing really annoying.

USA Today Bestselling author Nicole Flockton writes sexy contemporary romances, seducing you one kiss at a time as you turn the pages. Nicole likes nothing better than taking characters and creating unique situations where they fight to find their true love.

On her first school report her teacher noted "Nicole likes to tell her own stories". It wasn’t until after the birth of her first child and af
