Well ... I just devoured that book! This is the third book in an absolutely stunning series by Tara Sivec aka T.E. Sivec & this is the best of the series so far. Loved every second!

Gwen is a whole new woman, moving on with her life. Leaving an abusive marriage with her 6 year old daughter, Emma in tow was not the hardest thing … learning to live with the after effects of her abuse, her domineering parents and her feelings of weakness … that is the tough part.

4.5....i want more!!!!! I love this series!!! I am a sucker for any kinds of military alpha hotness and a tough sassy women to compliment that! Tara Sivec has provided a super read that was so fast paced, action packed, a tad bit suspenseful, and hot!

Austin in the epitome of Navy Seal perfection as he is strong, smart and intense. He has his own insecurities stemming from a poor childhood, but he has found his stength and family in the military. His loyalty to his brothers has landed him in the

So freakin excited for this one! That little teaser at the end of Because of You.. Damn. So not nice.

Let me tell you
Once upon a time .....there was a princess named Gwen ..

She had Emma , the cutest daughter ever ...

She was running from the big bad wolf....aka her abusive husband [forgot the name]...

Gwen's brother asked Austin , our prince to take care of her and Emma ..

Gwen's best friend Ellie , who has become the earlier blonde version of Gwen , comes to meet her ..

Ellie has been dating the bad

And she nailed it….bring on the clowns!!

T.E. Sivec, who is really Tara Sivec, except when she's T.E. Sivec has created an awesome series. I expected something good, but ended up getting so much more. More as in better. Better as in hell yeah. Hell yeah as in l……loved it.

I adored Austin, but what I loved the most is that he doesn't change. Even when he falls in love, he doesn't change. Yes, he lets love in, but he doesn't become a different person. All that hardness doesn't magically become soft

4.5 stars.... this book is amazing... I luv this other side of Ms. Sivec!! These books in the playing with fire series are just so fun to read..and they grab you with in a few dirty pages and you just can't put then down! Gwen, Emma and Austin are just a great dynamic..and I luv when the heroine is not a meek little confused mouse, but someone with spirit, and intelligent who still needs her knight in shining armor!!! ...more

Though Worn Me Down can easily be read alone, I think it's best to at least read Because of You (Playing with Fire 2) first, because that's where we first meet Gwen, Brady's little sister. We me

4.5 STARS!
I must admit that I have not read any of the prior books in this series and though this book can totally be read as a standalone, I kick myself for not reading the others because I know I am totally missing out!

The prologue immediately captures my attention and from the start I am swept away into this story that was action packed, kept me on the edge of my seat and connected me to a cast of characters that I fell in love with and want to know more about. That being said, the prior book

I have to say, I love the way Tara Sivec's brain works. Even though Worn Me Down isn't the same type of book as the Chocoholics series, her trademark humor makes itself known in dialogue and character actions. Sparkly, pink gun, anyone?

Gwen, the heroine, has had such a tough life. Many times, I've heard the questions, "Why didn't she just leave him? I would never stay with someone who laid his hands on me." (Even I am guilty of that!) In this book, however, I completely understand and empathize

Where do I start? I absolutely loved this book! I am having a hard time finding the words to say why this series is one of the best you will ever read!

Brady... the badass Navy SEAL. He lives and breathes his job. Nothing can stop him from taking the next mission. His team is all of the family and life he needs.

But then comes Gwen. One of his best friend's sister. She is sassy. She is strong-willed. She is a single mom running or hiding from something.

These two embark on a journey of a love-hate

I really, really enjoyed this book. Austin and Gwen were fun and engaging characters to read and I loved their verbal sparring. Gwen is such a smart ass and she won't take any shit from anyone, much less Austin. Austin knows that he can't resist Gwen but he sure does try!

Sometimes, books where the main characters engage in a lot of verbal sparring, get weighed down with attitude and it bores me to tears. This one did not, in fact they actually talked about what they were feeling. Austin totally

Worn Me Down is the story of Gwen and Austin two characters whom we've met in previous installments. This is story is of survival for Gwen and acceptance for Austin. When they first meet, sparks fly even before they both realize it. Gwen is a spitfire, the complete opposite of the woman she was for ten years during her marriage. She completely dumbfounds Austin. He's used to coming and going as he pleases without any attachments except his SEAL brothers. They are sweet, funny, and feisty. Gwen's ...more

Hot Navy SEAL? Independent strong woman? A checkered past? An adorable 6 year old in love with barbies, everything pink, and the start of a large college fund? CHECK! Another great piece of work churned out by Tara Sivec! Literally once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I love Gwen and Austin so much. And little Emma?! Oh to have her and Gavin (from Chocolate Lovers) together would be hilarious! Well done, again, Tara! ...more

Tara Sivec has done it again - That Sivec magic. This book grabs you from page 1 and refuses to let go. It's unputdownable and everything you want in a book. 4 “pipsqueak” Kisses

There are a few things I can guarantee I will get when I read a book in the Playing With Fire series. One…it will captivate and hold my attention. Two…it will have insanely amazing bad ass characters. Three…I will never see anything coming plot wise. Four…I will fall helplessly and hopelessly in love with the couple and never want the story to end. Well…mission accomplished Tara Sivec…mission accomplished. I am hooked like a crack addict

This book was so good. I loved the dynamic of the best friend's sister and the best friend coming together, and of course hating each other at first. Gwen was a real firecracker, and she had already endured so much but you couldn't tell from just speaking to her, and Austin was just the sweetest guy even though he had demons of his own he was a hero through and through, and it was the way he was so sweet to Gwen's daughter, and how he connected to her so easily. But i didn't appreciate the way A ...more

We all know Tara Sivec can do comedy. She’s a g-d genius when it comes to it. If I had to list my top 10 favorite books of all time, you can be your ass cheeks that the Chocolate Lovers series would take up 3 and a half spots. Honest to God. I loved them. Anyway, this isn’t about chocolate or messed up comedic relationships. This is serious Tara. While I’ve read all the books in the Playing with Fire series, I can say without a doubt that Worn Me D

Worn Me Down is the third in the Playing with Fire series and this time we get the story of Gwen and Austin. At the end of Because of You we got a brief glimpse into Worn Me Down and I had been impatiently waiting to read it.

Gwen might be might favorite heroine of the Playing with Fire series. She has been through more than any woman should have to but remained a fighter. As a mom to a 4 year old the relationship between Gwen and Emma had me feeling both warmhearted and brokenhearted depending o

I received an ARC from the Author to give a truthful review.

I have been waiting for this book since the teaser at the end of Because of You. I loved the tantrum that Gwen threw wanting a pink gun and to have Austin say “Pink and Sparkles” in the same sentence. I knew this was going to be a good one. I am a sucker for a strong woman in a story not a week girl that needs protecting.

Gwen can hold her own by all means. She has had a hard life you wouldn’t know it by looking at her and her family.

Honestly, going into this series I wasn't sure what to expect....we know Tara Sivec can write funny and heart-warming, what I wasn't expecting was Tara to suck me in to this series writing as T.E. I ended up really loving this gotta love smoking hot, military alpha males and take no-nonsense sassy women who knock them off their feet!

If you know anything thing about Tara Sivec it most likely goes like this...

"that Tara Sivec is one funny bitch!"

BUT she has allowed her softer side to peek out with Watch Over Me and allowed us to step into the world of suspense with a dash of comedy with her Playing With Fires Series.

Book three in the series, Worn Me Down, brings us Austin and Gwen. Gwen is running from an abusive past. She runs to her brother who welcomes her with open arms. Weaving herself into his life, Gwen is working to g

Tara's magic came through again! Worn Me Down had everything her Playing With Fire books are known for: Hot Alpha Navy SEAL, a sassy heroine with attitude, and mystery starting on the very first page. I loved Gwen and Austin, who we were introduced to in Because of You. Gwen is Brady's younger sister who showed up on his doorstep after finally escaping her husband's years of physical abuse.

Gwen is strong, though because of the abuse doesn't feel it, and has some great snarky comebacks with Austi

The twists and turns of this book will take you on a roller coaster ride of crazy. And then he goes and gives said sweet little girl's mama the business in the shower…like a boss!! Very n ...more

This book was pretty good. It was your standard "woman in trouble, needs a hero" type of book. Which, is definitely my cup of tea.
I have not read these in order and was able to follow along quite easily without feeling like I was missing anything.
Gwen was a great heroine. Not too needy and definitely knows how to make a man grovel.
Austin was a great Alpha hero. I loved seeing his soft side with Gwen's daughter. They definitely had LOL moments from me when they were playing together.
