"The Doctor's Deceit" is the follow on book from "Vanguard of Hope", set in the 1800's it deals with a society trying to protect innocent victims of sexual abuse, rape and prejudice. I really liked this book and the way the author has developed the story from a set of diaries. It highlights the length to which people will go to help others. Another good book ...more

I loved this book and how events and people tie together. Thought-provoking and intriguing, it kept me reading. The ending is satisfying, yet leaves it open ...more

Readers discover the real Dr. Vargas. He was deceptive with his departed wife about the true cause of her first husband's death. Why? The book reveals how Peter Bartholomew really died, and bares the inner thoughts of the partner he trusted. The methods of the Sapphire Brigade and its true purpose are also unveiled as a murder mystery unravels. New questions and surprises are introduced.
