George Washington grew up in Virginia and desired to be a soldier like his brothers. Through this book we learn the story of how he came to be a great leader. After the fight against England the people decided that he would be a great president. This biography was great because it told the story of Washington in simple terms but still got across how important he was in the founding of America. The biography would be good to incorporate in a 2nd or 3rd history lesson when they learn about presidents.

A nice, small biography great for any classroom! This book went through the different phases in his life, when he was a child, a teenager, and an adult. I think this is a great book to have in the classroom, especially during a social studies unit for students. I liked how this biography mentions that he never wanted to be a leader but he served the American people as the first president.

I thought this would be a great book about George Washington for younger readers. It has good illustrations but the information is too brief to garner much interest from a reader, even a young one. I think there are probably better biographies available on George Washington.

The book Let’s Read about… George Washington is a book that explains what happens to George Washington in his life.

This is a great children’s book that is easy for them to read about George Washington life. The books does do a pretty good job by going in sequence on what happens in George Washington life. The form of the book is biography. You could sue this book when you are teaching students what a biography is because they should be able to read it to themselves. A different time that you could use this book is when you are teaching your students about the first President. You could have your student write a time line on what happens to George Washington life, which this would help the student work on writing and listing to what happened in the story. The pictures in the book do a good job showing what the people looks liked back in that time.

This is a great book to use for students beginning to learn about US History. The book is very basic and covers George Washington's life from birth to first job and concludes with Washington becoming President. I would recommend it for early primary grades. Very general but tells his story.
