An excellent story of the amazing aptitude and life of G.W. Carver weaving facts together with an engaging story. I would caution anyone reading to sensitive children one of the scenes where George witnesses incredible cruelty by a white mob toward a black prison was hard to read and I edited some of the details for my kids. It is not gruesome or untrue but very hard truth to read as an adult and process as a child. Overall this is an excellent book and I am going to look for more picture books in this series.
