Every time I rate or review an Ann Coulter book mostly I spend the time just trying to get people to read them before they decide what they "think" about them. Of course it would be more accurate to say "how they feel about them.

Same here. This isn't really "new" in that it's more a collection of Ann's writings that have been compiled.

That said her style is still here...and for many that's the problem. Even if Ann gets the facts right the fact that she's very in your face, goes for the laugh and is sort of a bomb thrower get's the proverbial goat of many liberals.

Of course the same people have no problem when it's a conservative who's the "butt of a joke"...but you know, people ought not to make jokes about liberals.

Anyway, good book (as always) humor used to say common sense. Really, please...at least read it before you dislike it.

I can't believe I wasted time and brain power reading this. What an utterly useless piece of literature. Do people actually take this woman seriously?

The horrifying thing isn't that Ann Coulter believes what she is saying, it is that she has an audience who believes it too.

I'm not big on reading “columns,” but Ann Coulter’s work is not-to-be-missed, regardless of what form it takes. Here’s something you might not know about Ann: she’s really funny. Her most vocal detractors tend to be people who lack both a sense of humor and the ability to recognize sarcasm when they see/hear it. For some reason, many people perceive conservatives as being unaware of how to successfully tell jokes or make nuanced arguments. For anyone with an open mind, this book will prove otherwise.
Even if you don’t agree with Ann, there’s much to like here. I don’t much agree with Chris Rock or Christopher Hitchens, but that doesn’t prevent me from appreciating their wit. If the left had a pundit as talented as Coulter, I’d be standing in line to read his* book, too. Personally, I think most of what Coulter says is right on, and I admire her fearlessness in the face of a never-ending barrage of shrill, uninformed criticism.
There are two simple reasons why I don’t rate NEVER TRUST A LIBERAL OVER THREE…ESPECIALLY A REPUBLICAN a full five stars. Firstly, because this book is a collection of previously published columns, some of which go back nearly a decade. Secondly, because it kind of fizzles out toward the end. Two interviews are included: one featuring Ann, and the other featuring Ann’s mother. In the interview with Ann, the questions she gets asked are often obtuse, and her replies tend toward being flippant and unrevealing. Is it funny? Yes. Informative? No.
The interview with Ann’s mom is cute but entirely pointless other than to show how proud she is of her daughter. The book then closes with two eulogies, both of which are well-written and very touching (also incredibly polemic, so far as eulogies go), but neither of which felt necessary for me to read.

*I'm sticking with the masculine, gender-restrictive pronoun in honor of Ann's mother, who was a proponent of traditional grammatical structures.

It’s her interpretation of said facts that has made her such a firebrand, of course, and that fire still burns bright in her tenth book, a collection of her syndicated columns, Never Trust a Liberal Over 3 - Especially a Republican. I’m tempted to call it “The First Ann Coulter Book Your Liberal Friends Can Enjoy In Public!”, but that’s like expecting veggie burgers at Burger King to convert your vegan friends to the joys of carnivorism. Yes, Republicans, RINOS, and other GOP losers get their chestnuts roasted on Ann’s open flame here, but that doesn’t mean liberals get off easy.

I'm a fan of good sarcasm; I listen to it, read it, and even speak it fluently! I've read a few other books by this author and this latest one, Never Trust a Liberal Over Three --Especially a Republican by Ann Coulter, was more of the same. Depending on your personal political views you'll find humor, insightful thoughts, irreverent material, or anger, disrespect, politically incorrect material. Personally I generally enjoyed it but Coulter can be a bit much even for fans. As usual, she is particularly brutal to those on the far left, many who arguably deserve it. Say what you want about Ann Coulter, love her or hate her, she clearly lets you know where she stands. For conservatives this is a definite recommend, for those on the left not so much although it may still be good as exploratory entertainment.

ALL Ann Coulter books are 5 stars. Ann pulls no punches on the RINOs/Neocons (as bad as libtards) and the Demoncrap libtards. Ann backs up her commentary with FACTS (as in things that actually really happened). In fact the book is 98% FACTS - here is what happened, more than her commentary. Liberals reading this would have so much cognative dissonace their heads would explode (why they never would read it). Many enlightening facts that you won't hear about bc Main Stream Media supresses facts. Fun and scary (bc they politicians are so corrupt) read.

This book was a bit different from Ann's other books in that it was a compilation of her best columns, categorized by topic. I have all of her books and enjoy her sharp wit and the breadth of her knowledge and research, backed up with end notes. This book had the typical LOL moments that only Ann can bring.

I am not familiar with many of the people discussed in this book, but I still enjoyed it- quite funny and some great points. Extra star for spelling out the gospel at the end- Christian books don’t even always do this!

Never Trust a Liberal Over Three, Especially a Republican is a compilation articles – there is no grand theme as in many of her previous books. The title certainly indicates that Ann believes that many Republicans are liberals (I agree most are).

It is odd however that Ann supports Governor Christie, certainly not a conservative. She defends candidates giving up their staunch conservative stance in order to win in blue states – elections mean something and this is a reflection of her “realpolitik.” Point taken, but you can’t take both sides of an argument.

Still I love Ann for her passion and willingness to bluntly state her opinion. One of Ann’s favorite (here and elsewhere) themes is the Democrats long standing anti-black policies. Starting from slavery going to Jim Crow and eventually the welfare state the Democratic Party has done everything in its power to destroy black communities. Also interesting Ann explains the origin of the Democrat's arch enemy the NRA. It began as a means of fighting for the rights of blacks to arm themselves in the South, where blacks were prohibited from owning guns. This all began with Klan (all Democrats) supported legislation who did not like having an armed enemy – so the NRA as started as a means for blacks to defend themselves against Democrats.

This book is not as good as when there is a consistent theme, but it is still a worthwhile and amusing read.

America is no longer threatened by Osama Bin Laden. Bill Clinton is no longer receiving oral sex from 'chubby Jewish brunettes' in the Oval office, and the troops are coming home. In other words, things could not be worse for Ann Coulter in 2013.

'Never Trust a Liberal' lacks bite when aimed at less polarizing figures than Islamic terrorists and Michael Moore, and it's a sign that subtlety is either unknown, or uninteresting to Coulter. Venomous outbursts without direction are the hand flapping of a child in need of a nap, and like a fussy child, when the author refers to the First Lady as a 'half-black trophy wife,' you can't quite bring yourself to harsh words before tucking her in.

The obituaries of her mom and dad, re-published in the final chapter of this book, are sweet. Anyone who thinks of her the way she thinks of Liberals over three should read them, if only to see Ann Coulter with feet of clay. If you're a political wonk, her sole original chapter on Republican primary election infighting is worth a read too.

For the price though, Google will deliver you everything worth reading in Never Trust a Liberal Over Three, for free.

This was probably an odd choice in books as I am very liberal. But I used to be very conservative and it was by listening to both sides of the issues and remaining openminded that I changed my views. I still strive to be openminded so I got this book. And I definitely agreed with her criticism and outrage on some points. Honestly, I probably would have even rated it 3 stars if it wasn't for her vile name-calling and bashing of everyone. And I do mean everyone. I'm not sure whom she does like. She trashes with nastiness not just Democrats, but Republicans (and as a party and specific people), all politicians, media, every race, women, law enforcement, Native Americans, immigrants, etc. It's hard to look for the facts when you have to wade thru such filth to find it.

This book struck me as a greatest hits. A lot of the chapters were short rehashes of topics she raised in previous books. If you enjoy Ms. Coulter's personal brand of snark, you will probably like this book. If you don't like Ms. Coulter, chances are you wouldn't touch this book with a ten-foot pole but I would encourage everyone to at least read the last chapter which includes an unpublished WSJ interview with her mother as well as her eulogies to her father and her mother. Not mauldin or over sentimental but obviously written by a woman who loved her parents and if she is to be believed, loved her back.

Interesting book. I had the pleasure of seeing her in person at an event in Kansas City and received a signed copy of her book. Like all folks that express their political view, you have to take some of it with a grain of salt, so to speak. I do agree with her on several occasions and appreciate her unpacking some of the facts of events to give me and the readers a broader understanding of the 'facts'. She exposes some 'facts' by some in the political and media arena to be only a portion of the 'truth' so as to drive their own point or agenda home. Read it with an open mind and realize that there is a lot more to the story, which ever side is telling it.

A collection of Miss Coulter's columns from the past decade, she is without a doubt the most wickedly funny and brutally honest political commentator on the planet. The only thing keeping this from being five stars is that, like all other books collecting discourse on current events, some articles become a tad dated. There are new intros in the chapters but they add little substance. Particularly moving were the eulogy columns for Anne's parents that end the book. Love her or hate her, there is no arguing that her wit is as sharp as the sword of Damocles.

Brutal, accurate, frustrating.

This book is not for the feint of heart. It destroys liberals and default liberals alike. If you, like myself, once just voted "D" by default, before formulating your own opinions, you will perceive only hate herein. If, however, you actively choose rationality (even without a particular "God" bias), you'll recognize that "hate", herein, is nothing more than a tactical reflection of the subtle PC brainwashing that drives intelligent, educated, and yet stupid liberals in their semiconscious attempts to destroy the USA.

Another smash hit from Coulter. Ann is articulate, knowledgeable, hilarious, honest. She shows the fallacies of liberalism by countering their weak arguments, pointing out their flawed thinking, and exposing their sensationalized propaganda. Her one-liners and zingers are so creative (and spot on); she's brilliant. Coulter can pack quite a punch in just one sentence.

This is mainly a collection of her columns, but she's included some fantastic ones. And I loved that she added the columns she wrote about each of her parents. Yes, Ann has a softer, sentimental side.

A fine collection of her columns from the mid 2000s. Her research is always up front and her writing is brilliant. She is funny, smart and smells liberal hypocrisy like a setter smells birds. It is always a pleasure to spend a few hours just laughing and nodding with her. The eulogies of her parents will bring tears to your eyes. I had to do the same thing when my parents died six weeks apart. I have some idea what those two columns cost her. We both graduated from U of M Law School. The difference was that she was Law Review and I just barely made it.

Another year, another acerbic and witty series of monstrously offensive Ann Coulter quotes. I won't bother reviewing this entry too specifically as it's just an additional cog in the Coulter wheel. A hilarious cog that doesn't disappoint. Feel free to take a peak at my views on Coulter over at Salon.

Perpetually and dependably well-researched and with astringent delight, she slings spirited invective toward all things liberal. Ann delivers with this epistolary collection of past columns. Rife with one-liners, insults, and put downs, she proves that she is still the political Queen of Mean, and as always, is perfectly charming about it.

I wanted to expand my reading genre list and this book sounded interesting.
After reading it, I can definitely say that it is not a book for beginners in politics. I suggest, like a fellow commenter said, take it as a bunch of essays piled into a book. Also, if you are a liberal, independent, or feminist, be prepared to be insulted.

Coulter is usually witty enough to at least be amusing, but this book lacked that for me. When she doesn't have a specific theme (McCarthyism, racial demagoguery, etc.) to develop, there's not much of interest in her writing. This came off too much like a series of rants, and I had to abandon it before completion.

This is mostly a collection of articles Coulter has written over the past ten years or so. If you are a Coulter fan and would appreciate such a collection, this book is for you. There are many great pieces in it, but it's not truly new material. I was disappointed.

I like Ann Coulter and I think she's a riot! However, it's a bit of a cheap shot to release a book where 90 percent of the writing is regurgitated columns that can be read on your website for free. Since I got it from the library, didn't cost anything. But still funny, funny, funny!

Great book! This was a collection of her columns. She has a very objective style to her positions on the issues of today. Ann also has a humorous side to her stories. I especially liked her argument for repealing the 26th amendment, lol.
