Nice and Steamy

Really liked this one!!

Chelsea has been living with guilt and trying to find her way back to herself for the last 2 years after tragedy and heartbreak... She's independent and trying to make a way for herself by herself. She doesn't want to be rescued....

Xander..He doesn't know how to NOT rescue someone.. he's got pain of his own in his past and when he helps Chelsea out of their apartment building during a fire drill he see's something in her that needs saving. He doesn't want a relationship.. he doesn't believe in them. But he thinks she needs company, needs someone to talk to.. and lots fucking. Yep, he thinks lots of fucking will help her out and he's just the man for the job.....

So neither want a relationship...Chelsea is ready to get her feet wet again ( and her hoohah) and if Xander is willing to be the man to bang her back to life, so be it. So they decide to play.. and they play all kinds of ways.. roll playing games.. things get really hot really fast and they can't get enough of each other....

They get under each others skin and each begin to chip down the walls the other has erected around their heart...It gets tough and things of course get complicated when they try to figure out what they want but it was an awesome ride watching them get to their HEA.

This was an easy story to read and yes, the ending was predictable.... but the way their relationship played out was really very different from any other book I've read. The roll playing make it extra hot.. smokin hot. The story flowed smoothly with no drag time. I really enjoyed this one...

The End ♥♥♥

The expression 'Everything happens for a reason" has always been a favourite of mine but never has it been so perfectly depicted as in the new read from Natalie Anderson.

The read is about Chelsea, after her fiancée being tragically killed in a car accident and she severely injuring her leg, her life tumbles to the ground and she looses her independence. Letting others help her is the one thing she hates most, so she fights her way back to the top, making sure she can and will do things for herself and she does a truly great job at it.

She doesn't count on ending up in the arms of don't-deny-your-attraction-to-me-or-I'll-have-to-prove-it Xander. Soon there is a blazing hot passionate affair between them but this is only sex to the both of them, Xander lives for fun and fun only, and Chelsea does not need some hunky do me every-way everywhere you want lifeguard to save her, she does things on her own or not at all.

The character of Chelsea was for me as reader was one that showed courage and strength in fighting to get her life back on track, a strong heroine is always remarkable, but at the same time this heroine was something else. She goes from strong and independent to a complete helpless mess and back to her ready to fight mode and yes back again to complete mess.

This might sound like a see -saw character that no doubt will turn you off , but the reasoning behind her actions were so stunningly depicted and explained by the author and it brought me the understanding I needed into her fears, the more I read the more evolved and remarkable she became.

The character of Xander was a true hero, not the usual kind a woman dreams of, more the 'I will only be using this sex on legs for a good time' kind. He is hot with a capital H and is guaranteed to bring every female reader to her knees.

But at the same time he is the understanding kind, the man is able to draw out pleasure and at the same time he is able to tell what Chelsea needs on a emotional level. That is not something we always see in romance reads, as it goes from meeting each other to the hot sex and then the I love you's comes, with no real depth into the in between and the what he or she is able to do for each other. The fact that author let him be so in tune with Chelsea and her emotions, slowly but surely drawing her out from her shell made him the perfect bad-boy hero, and gave me as reader the true level of depth for this read that most reads completely miss.

The backdrop settings were fun and exciting, but mainly very wild and oh so very sexy! From the very wild and controlling 'office sex' scene to the anger overload aquarium scene the entire read was filled with wild, crazy, hot unbridled passion.

The author packed so much emotion behind the sex that it brought tears to my eyes it was truly as if I could feel not only the very raw heat between Xander and Chelsea but I could almost touch the emotions of joy, anger, fear, lust and pain.

The dialogue was flirty and extremely sexy, you will be squirming in your seat when you hear the things Xander says to Chelsea, and I am willing to bet there isn't a woman alive that would be able to resist. But the author also gave it her all on the emotional front.

She took the characters dialogue from flirting to wild in seconds and to kind and caring in a heartbeat. Yes a few curse words were used here and there, but not to the point of overuse or to the point where the curses were killing off the romance element of the read completely.

No more to the point of it being real life depicted, as in certain relationship moments today's couples do actually get to the f@#% you point in their conversations This to me as reader showed that the author really created remarkable characters that were realistic and that many readers can connect to. Fantastic work Natalie.

Now if your thinking that because of the high level of sexual content in this read as I mentioned that this is another 50 shades erotica you would be very wrong, the difference lies in what the author has done with her characters, giving us a stronger more believable hero and heroine, a better and more powerful message and a more in depth look into the characters, their emotions and ultimately what can save them.

I highly recommend this read for lovers of realistic romance with a sexual content that is pushed from vanilla sex to vanilla with sensory overload of drizzled strawberry syrup topped with whipped cream and covered with a blanket of true soul-mate found love.

I am very much looking forward to the other three books in this series, as the author let me in on the friends of Xander and I can tell that we are in for one heck of a ride with these boys. I fully anticipate this series to hit the best sellers list.

The message am taking away from this read is that sometimes you need help and letting others breathe for you will allow you the become stronger that you have ever been before.

Now that is how you do sexual chemistry…..

During a midnight emergency evacuation drill of her apartment complex, 24yr old Chelsea Greene is swept up and Rescued by Xander Lawson.

~"And who are you? Fire services?"
"You mean you don't recognize me?" His baby blues lit up, and chuckle tumbled. "Sweetheart, I'm Superman, didn't you know?"~

description

Xander Lawson exudes easy charm. He likes his women fun and playful.
Xander needs a woman unafraid to match his appetite.
Meeting Chelsea stirs his need for fun.
Experiencing one-look lust has happened before, but never has the pull been so strong.

Just one touch and everything changes.

Chelsea's body says yes but her heart is saying no. Xander can see her internal struggle and offers a one time deal.
For Chelsea to give into temptation, he realises her need to release all control over to him and can’t resist spinning a sensual fantasy world around them.

~"One afternoon. One fantasy. Just one."~

Chelsea discovers a desire to satisfy this arrogant, demanding tease. Unable to express her own fantasies, she finds unspeakable pleasure in serving his.

But once isn't enough and soon Xander and Chelsea find themselves is a strictly sexual relationship playing out all types of sexual role plays.

The fantasies were Brilliant. I loved the cat burglar one!

~"Cats love to play with their prey…. she said softly. "We love to torment them. We like to let them think they've escaped…"
"But they havent."
"No." she ran a fingernail down his chest. He felt it edge through his shirt. "They can never get away.
"What else you cats like?" He asked
"We like to lick."~

description

~"Alright," he tore his mouth free and spoke in a low, laughing growl. "I"m Tarzan, your Jane and I've just rescued you from some wild beast. I'm wired and there's only one this to ease off the adrenalin. Not gental. Not slow. Sure you can take it?"~

description

~"It's your boss. You're in major trouble."~

description

~"I'm a mermaid."
"And who am I?" He asked carefully. "A sailor?"
"You're a pirate," she corrected him.
"Oh." His smiled widened.
She put her hand on the tiled edge and pulled herself out of the water a little, whispering. "You've captured me."~

description

Xander says he doesn’t do complicated or emotional, yet Chelsea compels him closer. Never had played like this before, but knowing that Chelsea needs it, Xander finds himself wanting more from her.

She will surrender herself to his every command, but what is she hiding behind the hurt in her eyes?

~"You're caught in your inability to communicate. Your family- his family- would be appalled if they knew you were sabotaging your life because of misplaced guilt. It's time to talk. Time to give it up."~

As passion spills outside their carefully selected boundaries, will someone be left heartbroken.

~"I know you said this would be over if I became attached, but it's your fault I did. It's your fault I've fallen in love with you."~

Natalie Anderson did not fail to deliver here.
The sensual build up towards the first kiss…….off the charts.
The intimacy was at times just the right amount of hot, but then delivered sweet and heartfelt.

~"Breathe for me," he said hoarsely. Holding her, rocking her to pleasure. "Breathe for me" ~

And that epilogue… AMAZING

This was more than just a fun, sweet, erotic romance, it's a journey of recovering from a tragic past and learning to let go of mistakes and regrets.

Breathe for Me is the first instalment of the Be for Me series. Logan is up next and I can't wait for his story.

Aww, this book left me with a smile on my face. The end was so cute 🥺🥺🥺

"It’s your fault I’ve fallen in love with you.”

"But for me, it was always you. And always real. And you’re right. It’s love. I love you.”

Natalie Anderson is so underrated let me just say that. From penning my favorite Harlequin of all time, I knew I wanted to read more from her. (Grateful to Scribd because that's how I discovered her there.) I was obviously happy to discover this was offered as a free ebook so I snatched it up.

I wasn't expecting that much erotica haha, but it was crucial to their relationship and the way they set it up as a no-frills, almost a friends with benefits sort of arrangement. But there was also a side plot with Chelsea being scared of the water, having an injury and being partially disabled, and a secret.

But yeah, it was hot and steamy, and they did a lot of fantasy, role-playing that was interesting and fun to read about. Xander isn't my favorite name, but the guy was hot.

Even though it was still really good and I enjoyed it (I'm literally in Spain and it's 3 pm and I still haven't left my room OMG guys~I was like I need to finish this first; I really need to go outside right now, it's so bad), it did lack that final magic to make it a 5 star read. I was thinking this earlier: I'm not sure if I'm the only one who thinks this way, but 4 stars are really good but a lot of books that I liked around the same level either get 3 or 4 stars, you know. It's kind of a toss-up. But for me, there's a big difference between 4 stars and 5 stars. Like there's a big gap, you know. Not a big gap between 3 to 4 stars. But 5 stars are basically perfect reads for me like I LOVED the book. It 100% satisfied my need for romance. 5 stars just have that extra magic that make them flow almost perfectly.

Having said that, I highly recommend this book. And why not get it? It's free and only 208 pages on Kindle...

Warning, there is a little bit of the dead ex trope. And yes, duh I was wondering if Chelsea liked Xander or her ex better and I think Xander. Her love for her ex was more of a first love type, whereas, with Xander, the chemistry was just off-the-charts.

It was a game. She got that. Except the sizzle that she felt wasn’t entirely playful. It was intense. And as she stared up at him the smile in his eyes and on his lips faded as a predatory look hardened his expression. She raised her hand. Pressed her fingertips on his mouth. To stop him? To touch him? She didn’t really know.

He stilled beneath her touch , his eyes locked on hers. In their depths she saw it, the reflection of her fantasy. Of being with him, against this door . Right here. Now. Hard. Rough. Fast.

She felt his breath on her fingers. Then his tongue. Curling around her middle finger. A sizzle shot up her arm. Intense, fierce desire ripped through her. She snatched her fingers away.

“Sorry,” she mumbled. Embarrassment burned all over her face. She’d been about to moan in the middle of the hallway.

“S’okay,” he softly answered , his eyes never leaving hers. “Anytime.”

4.50 RATING- If you haven't read this book and enjoy contemporary romances, you should! It's fun and sassy and sexy. Xander is going on my best boyfriend shelf. I loved him! He's arrogant, charming, protective, and HOT!!! Chelsea is an easy heroine to like. Together, these two characters are fabulous! The chemistry between Xander and Chelsea is instantaneous and believable. It works from the get go and just gets better and better. The sex is playful, their role playing is laugh out loud funny, and everything about this story left me wanting more!

With one hand on her hip and the other in her hair he held her still— so she could never escape. He shouted her name as he thrust into her again and again. Pounding more wildly than he’d ever done in his life. No more words came from her hot mouth, just a raw scream. And all he could see was red. A cloud of passion drowned him in an orgasm so intense he lost all sense of his surroundings. There was nothing but her. Nothing but him owning her.

The writing is solid, the pacing is good. There are some editing issues but nothing that wasn't easy for me to look over, a few missing words, etc. Both obstacles the characters faced were understandable, nothing was blown out of proportion. There was no drama just for dramas sake. This was just a good, solid, sexy romance!

This is the first book I've read by Natalie Anderson but it won't be the last. What a find! I was happy to see there were are more books available in this series. I definitely plan on reading the next book, Beg for Me, very soon!

ONE NOTE: The reading order can be a bit confusing on this series. Some sites have Bared for Me listed as book two in the series. However, Bared for Me takes place towards the end of Beg for Me. Because of that and to keep the series sequential, I recommend the following:

1. Breathe for Me
2. Beg for Me
3. Bared for Me

Just a note: For SCRIBD subscribers, this series is currently available to borrow.

Revised! What I originally wrote: DNF. Is it just me, or do all of these "new adult" romances seem to be carbon copies of each other? There's nothing wrong with this one; I'm just in the mood for more story than sex. I may give it another go one day.

What I think now: 3.5 Stars. I decided not too long after making that statement that I was in the mood for some sexy after all and picked this back up. I'm glad I did because once the story really hit its stride I realized that it does stand out from the morass I complained about earlier. I don't want to go too much into the plot because the author did a nice job of surprising me a few times and I won't spoil it for anyone else. Even though Chelsea and Xander are initially ensnared by extreme insta-lust and don't waste much time fighting it, the feelings that develop between them later on as they attempt to have a "just sex" relationship are very realistically portrayed, and I ended up really liking both characters. I was wrong about Xander; he turned out to not be such a man-slut and he was very noble and compassionate. And I loved how tough Chelsea was as she struggled to move forward past the accident that left her damaged, and as she attempted to distance her heart from Xander. Oh, and that "just sex" relationship? Super hot, humorous, and sweet as Xander concocts night after night of fantasies for Chelsea. It gets bumped down for being too typical in the early part of the book and for having lots of errors, but I would check out future books from this author.

This was an okay story. It was kinda boring though. There was way too much fluff for my liking. All the sex and making out started to get boring after a while also...especially, with all the inner thoughts (usually from Chelsea) prior to engaging in any activity. In all, there wasn't really much going on.

There were a lot of grammar issues. I'm not the best when it comes to grammar, but even I noticed some mess-ups here and there. Either sentences that didn't make sense or there were missing/added words or the punctuation not used correctly.

Ex:
1. "Thanks be the guy was an ex." Poor punctuation and I'm not sure what she was trying to say here.
2. "Somehow that didn't that surprise her..." Adding extra words.
3. "A literally 'living' room." HUH?
4. "What else you cats like?" Wrong word there.
5. "Fuck freaking out." I don't even know what that is? means?

I also couldn't help but notice how the author used some English terms when referring to certain things, like knickers, bloody, and lift. Yet, the characters were all from the US... Who did her editing?

Questions/Comments:

Xander. It was weird how Xander was all about getting laid, and that seemed to be it. Yet, he was the first to realize that he wanted to give Chelsea more. Gotta love his one comment, "What is it you want from me?" I honestly wasn't sure why he was even asking that at the time because there was nothing (in my opinion) that made me think Chelsea was trying for more.

Chelsea. I wasn't a fan of her at all. All the feeling sorry for herself was annoying. I get that she hurt her leg badly but come on. Her comment, "She was going to him. Not just the sex. But him." Right, Chelsea. That's why you barely can even talk to him, and all she ever thinks about is what they'd done the previous time they were together...in the bedroom. I didn't believe that.

Questionable comments made:

1. "...remember the simple sensual delight of warm water washing over skin..." That was when Chelsea was looking at the pool. She showers with no problem, so what is she taking cold showers for some reason?

2. All the guys were getting ready to play water polo. ..."not to trunks, but brief Speedos." Um, aren't all speedos considered briefs technically?

3. "Yesterday's emo nightmare had been more than enough." Huh?

I'm sure Chelsea wasn't living on her floor all by herself. So when Xander rescues her when they have the fire drill, how did he know which apt she was in? Yet, not know her name or anything?

Septuagenarian. The author would really use that word when referring to someone over 70? Instead of old lady? Where did she even get it? Or make her think it was a good choice? Or chutzpah?

Xander comments on Chelsea's "raven locks," yet, prior to that, we're told (by him) that she has brown hair. Which is it?

So Chelsea and Xander are by the pool making out. He's planning on going downstairs on her...how have they forgotten about the cameras? I can only imagine the one gay lobby guy watching the show.

Why exactly does Chelsea do on Twitter? Does she have that exciting of a life to where she needs to keep her fans updated?

Who uses the word "mightn't"? Something about that word annoyed me.

How old was Xander? We know Chelsea is 24 and that Xander has been working "hard for the last eighteen years." Cradle robber?

FYI, Chelsea and Xander's sexual time only took an hour. It's kinda funny how the time length never changed.

After Xander tells Chelsea that he doesn't think the two of them are going to work, he leaves. Yet, not too later, he's back again, and they're going at it. What happened?

Clueless dumbass aka Chelsea. She's so wanting more from Xander, yet, when he obviously is heading to that area, she has no clue. Ex...him telling that if another man ever touched her, he'd basically beat them. Hello Chelsea!! Her inner response? "As if Xander-effing-Lawson would get jealous?"

When Chelsea comes back after apologizing to her dead fiance's mom, things are just weird. First, she's dressed like a dominatrix in a 'fucking suit', but more importantly, SHE'S RUNNING! Much less in spiky boots! Sorry, but with all her limping around to suddenly be running? I don't think so. How long had she been gone? It didn't sound like very long. So she apologizes and suddenly is all peachy keen? Again...I don't think so.

Xander ends up thinking that he's just like his father because he was basically ecstatic that Chelsea ended up coming back to him and because he forgot to use a condom? Seriously?

When Chelsea finally goes in the pool, one second she's in her suit stepping down the stairs...then suddenly she's lost the suit?

Book Review by Anna Patterson
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Breathe for Me, By Natalie Anderson, a work of fiction and first of a series.

I approached the reading of this novel with some trepidation since I personally felt I might find it a little daunting since it hinted that it was not only a little longer read (something I liked to see), but it also was a little hotter. This I wasn’t sure of for me.

I have joked with friends about wanting to read Fifty Shades of Grey, but actually haven’t done this. I am an avid reader, and love romance, but when the heat levels turn up, I usually bow out. But I have read many of this author’s other novels and I like the sheer fun and delight of romance I find in her books. I wondered, would I find it in this hotter version, or not?

So I got out my cup of coffee and decided to see for myself. Unfortunately, for the housework which was waiting for me and the list of to do things, once I started reading the novel, I couldn’t put it up.

Xander Lawson and Chelsea Greene are compelling romantic people from the first. She was breaking the rules when she met him. And she had many reasons she was striving for independence. But she was going the wrong way.

He was extremely helpful and playful in an interesting way. They were caught in some kind of game, old as time, right in front of everybody.

She was an artist trying to get her life back after it nearly ended for her. I liked her spirit, her independence, but I also liked her joy for living which includes a zest for romance. She could not go back because of the death of Tom Holt and the car crash.

Zander admitted to himself he was used to the “fast but fun game” but something was drawing him to this complex girl before him.

She saw him and knew right away he would be a challenge. But unfortunately, he took her breathe away.
If only the nightmares of the past would set her free.

I have read several of this author’s works previously. I especially enjoyed the novel “Waking up in the Wrong Bed.”
I found to my own surprise, I did like this hotter book, and I found it a fun read with depths of feeling which were surprising and a pleasure. I look forward to other books of this series. It hooked me and I want to see more.

XANDER & CHELSEA

Chelsea has moved to the busy city to find her independence after a horrible car accident took her fiancé Tom’s life and left her with a permanent limp, night terrors, and lack of self-confidence.

Xander playboy just living his life and trying to be in control of everything while also being carefree. Xander has made a career in the security area and is doing pretty well for himself.

When a fire alarm suddenly goes off, Chelsea is caught in only her bathing suit & in the middle of the staircase with about 20 more flights of stairs to go. Enter Xander (or as he says SUPERMAN). Xander helps Chelsea and is immediately interested in her.

The two find themselves in an interesting friendship with benefits and their lives became happy and complicated. As their relation progresses the two find themselves more comfortable with each other than they both thought possible.

Chelsea needs to find self-confidence again and take control, Xander needs to give control and find that he can confide in Chelsea and trust her with his past experiences and not be judged.

Together they concur some inter demons and find peace and happiness TOGETHER.

I picked up Breathe for Me as an Amazon freebie several months ago and am so glad I finally read it! As soon as Xander and Chelsea met, the sparks flew. Their chemistry was intense and their sexy fantasy play, which is what made this novel stand out to me, was playful and so much fun! Both of the characters were emotionally damaged and there were a few sad scenes yet I didn’t feel dragged down by all of their drama and found them to be so endearing, Xander especially of course! It was an unexpectedly entertaining, enjoyable, sweet and sexy romance and I look forward to reading the next one in the series about Xander’s cousin Logan.

"Breathe for me," he said hoarsely. Holding her, rocking her to pleasure. "Breathe for me"

description

And that epilogue… AMAZING

This was more than just a fun, sweet, erotic romance, it's a journey of recovering from a tragic past and learning to let go of mistakes and regrets.

Breathe for Me is the first instalment of the Be for Me series. Logan is up next and I can't wait for his story.

Breathe For Me by Natalie Anderson

Still recovering from a devastating car accident, which took the life of her finance Tom. Chelsea doesn't want to feel that kind of pain and lost ever again. She is just starting to get her life back on track, by moving to New York City for a few months while doing an internship and working on a post-grad qualification. But she is finding it extremely difficult to not give in to temptation.

Xander Lawson is the "lets have fun only type of guy". He is loyal, has great friends, self made, flirty, loves to lend a hand, rescues damsels when needed. But when it comes to love, he wants no part of it. Not after the life he and his mother suffered at the hands of his father. He can rock your world in bed and even up against the wall, but don't make the mistake of falling in love, because that is when he checks out.

From the moment Chelsea Greene and Xander Lawson meet you can almost feel the sizzling attraction. Just one touch from the very witty and sinfully attractive Xander, has Chelsea feeling things she hasn't felt for almost two years. Once these two agree to have sex it is with the understanding, that this is all it will ever be for both of them ... Or I'll it ? This is one VERY Intense and passionate read. The scenes were extremely HOT. I also loved Xander's humor in this book, there were quite a few chuckles. I found it very hard to set this book down, until I was finished.

This was the first book by Natalie Anderson for me, but I look forward to reading many more in the future. I can't wait to read Logan Hughes story in Beg For Me!

3.5 Stars!

This one was okay for me....it was a quick read. I never really developed much of a connection with either the heroine or the hero.

Chelsea is trying to make a new start in NY, after suriviving a near fatal car accident. A fire drill finds Chelsea being "rescued" by Xander. Chelsea and Xander both don't want a relationship....but hot, meaningless sex? Why not??

But of course, feelings and emotions get in the way and lines get crossed. But will both Xander and Chelsea be able to trust each other and open up about their pasts in order to have a relationship??

This was a rather predictable read...and again, I didn't have much of an emotional connection to the story or the characters. I didn't find the fantasy sex (or any of the sex for that matter) to be very hot...it was just okay.

I don't know...I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. It is going to be a series, but the other books in the series will be about other characters. This was a standalone with a HEA, which was a plus. I would consider reading the other books in the series.

Xander that boy is a sweet talker, "if you're going to break the rules and swim at midnight, you should go the whole way and be without a suit. Midnight swims are always best naked." He doesn't give Chelsea much options when he comes to their relationship, "here are your options," he said, looking down at her with that devilish blue gaze. "Lunch at one of the restaurants down the street. Or in my apartment. You've got one second to choose." He's also a horndog (winks) but I love it, "you wouldn't be thinking about sex, would you?" he added. "Because I sure as hell am." Then there is a side to Xander that is most caring, "holding your breath again?" His chuckle warmed her cheek. "Baby, you've got to learn to breathe. In fact, you've got to learn to..." I love this cover (yes I admit it's what drew me to the bookie) and I'm so glad I read it because I really enjoyed it!

Beautifully written and well plotted story. The protagonists are so well drawn as one expects from this author. Really satisfying emotionally.

::a variation of this Review is on Amazon.com::

While reading this book, I was convinced the author was somebody who had mainly written BDSM romances and was trying her hand at a mainstream romance novel - like Sindra van Yssel or Ann Mayburn. There's a powerful feeling of a Dom/subbe relationship with the central pair, even though most of their sex scenes are pretty vanilla, incessant Role Playing aside. But no, Natalie Anderson apparently is a vanilla romance writer....

"Surrender, Young Romance Writer - To The Kinky Side of The Force...!"

The story is about Chelsea, a physically (her leg that was badly hurt in a car accident that cost her the life of her fiancé) and emotionally (she's terrified of bodies of water, even bathtubs, following almost drowning during the car accident while trying to save her fiancé) scarred young woman who meets Xander, a strapping former lifeguard/security systems expert, during a fire evacuation in their building in New York City. Xander has a Hero Complex (he picks Chelsea up and carries her down many flights of stairs because she's not moving fast enough during the evacuation), which at first annoys her - she moved to NYC to get away from everybody "helping" her so she could prove her self-sufficiency. But she also feels a powerful attraction to Xander, and he to her - though neither is looking for a relationship (because of - issues !!!!),

and at first Chelsea's not even looking for a fling. But Xander, partly to distract her while they're going down the stairs, starts riffing on Superheroes and why they rescue pretty women all the time, and as it turns more into an erotic fantasy Chelsea finds herself getting a bit tingly...for the first time since her accident.

So, after he runs into her later and basically smooth-talks her into going out for a bite with him, she says she wouldn't mind playing out his Superhero rescuing and having sex with his damsel fantasy - just this once. That begins a no-strings-attached Role Playing sexual relationship between the two of them - Xander shows up at her door with, by his own admission, a number of ever cheesier fantasies with involve him dominating her sexually, and she silently but eagerly submits to him... every night for a couple of weeks.

"Let's Play/Master and Servant...."

Even though the RP only once, late in the story, evolves into anything like a b&d scene (it's a really mild one, too!), there are a few points in the story where both Xander and Chelsea acknowledge they're in a Dominant/submissive relationship with each other - except Xander finds himself wanting more from Chelsea than just her acquiescence, so he starts to try and find out what's wrong with her so he can help heal her. As matters progress and Xander starts to treat her more as a girlfriend than a play partner, Chelsea realizes Xander's Hero Complex and choice of security as a profession is to mask his own personal demons, which come traumatically to light when, during a RP which she finally initiates (the one that involves bondage, as it turns out!), he loses it after telling her he'll never let her go -

She's Also Dressed As Fetish Catwoman At the Time - So We See Where HER Kinks Lie! :)

and breaks up with her! That's when she realizes she's fallen in love with him, and she confronts him about his fears of turning into his hated, thuggish, insanely possessive father....

Though both Chelsea and Xander can be annoying at times, you're always aware that they're fighting their personal fears and root for them to overcome those fears so they can be together. The book's title comes from a recurring thing Xander does whenever Chelsea freezes in terror (usually near water) and stops breathing - he kisses her and breathes in her mouth as he does so, telling her to "Breathe for me....", which the story uses as a metaphor for how two people who need to be self-sufficient learn to rely on each other when they need to.

One minor criticism, from someone who lived in New York City for over 25 years - New Zealander Natalie Anderson's idea of New York City is a bit like a cross between the USA Network television series WHITE COLLAR's view of NYC as a glistening urban metropolis, and the wildly fanciful descriptions of exotic lands like India, China and Japan during The Age of Exploration.

It's a lovely city they live in, but I'm pretty sure it only bears the slightest resemblance to the New York City I remember....

I haven't read such a hot read in a while. It really made me sit up.

At the core, it's a love story. Chelsea was maimed in an accident which took her fiance's life. She was left with a damaged leg and her life was interrupted. She's now living in New York City and trying to make it in life without the cushion of parental protectiveness. Xander Lawson was a child from a broken home. His father was violent and controlling. He has become something in life, owning an engineering degree and a security company. But deep inside, he's hurting.

It's said that when two people are destined for each other, they recognize each other, even if they don't really realize it at the time. Xander and Chelsea embark on a sexual relationship. Neither of them wants anything long term and permanent but they both want the kind of emotional release which they seem to be able to get only with each other. As they explore the depths of intimacy and sexuality, the unthinkable happens. They fall in love.

Natalie Anderson writes deep, sexy, passionate prose. She literally takes the reader by the hand and boldly goes where other writers don't. Short of being in bed with Xander and Chelsea, I couldn't have gotten in any deeper. Arousing? Yeah, very much so.

Therein lies the problem. How do you go back to washing the dishes and cooking dinner having explored the depths of fantasy with Xander and Chelsea?

This couple get so intimate that they feel each others' pain. The healing can begin when they literally go over that edge - going that extra mile with each other on the road to recovery and self discovery.

It's a human, sexually vivid story.

It's a very precious story.

So I would hate for someone to misread it and classify it as a 'dirty book'.

For mature readers only.

It explored levels of commitment and possessiveness that had me sitting up and taking notice. And it was that closeness, that intimacy, that moved me much more than the sexploration, the sex play and the role playing. Heck, being a fly on the wall is NOT much fun.

It also made me want to grab hold of my significant other. And get down and dirty.

Kudos to Natalie Anderson for her courage in writing a book like this. Any fault? Well, I don't fancy sharing my private world with the greater world out there - I wasn't sure if Chelsea would either.

As a certain Irishman used to say, books are neither bad nor good. Books are well written or badly written, that is all.

This was well written. Very much so.

I grabbed Breathe for Me today because it was free for the Kindle and it’s got 4 1/2 stars on the Amazon review scale. I’m picky with the books I download for free. Less then 4 stars and I don’t grab them. I hate being disappointed with a book and 3 star books or less tend to leave me wishing I had listened to the other reviewers.

I thought when I was browsing through the books on my iPad, trying to figure out where to start today, that I was starting one of my review books (I had 10 of those sent to me today also).

I went to go leave feedback for the publisher and figured out it wasn’t one of my review books but I am SO glad I read it. So glad.

This book has an estimated 227 pages and I read them all in 3 hours. Could.Not.Put.It.Down.

So good.

Be forewarned: this book does have quite a few sex scenes (so it’s only for the adult readers out there) but there is this beautiful beautiful love story behind it. This story of conquering our pasts and both Chelsea and Xander have quite the pasts to conquer.

Those love scenes, let me borrow the title and something Xander says to Chelsea, breathe for me please. Hot hot hot! I caught myself not breathing a few times. Hot.

Xander has been moved to my fictional boyfriend shelf.

I feel a little guilty about putting him there because I really loved the character Chelsea. LOVED her. I was rooting for her. I was rooting for Xander. Even when he was a jerk at one point, I was rooting for Xander. I <3 Xander and Chelsea.

I cannot wait for Natalie’s next book in the series – Beg For Me – that’s Xander’s cousin’s Logan’s story. That might be an overdoing it on the possessive apostrophes I have going on in that sentence, and that my friends, is why I am not an editor.

Whether Breathe For Me is free when you read this review or not I highly recommend grabbing it. LOVE LOVE LOVED it!

Another freebie romance from Amazon that didn't quite cut it for me. The positives: lots of steamy sex; good use of role-playing scenarios in the bedroom; and good technical writing. I had a few bones to pick with the book:

1. The plot. As usual in this day and age, insta-lust and insta-love have reared their ugly heads again. The two main characters go from easy, casual sex to a heady love in the span of weeks. The chemistry between Xander and Chelsea was believable but the last few chapters were a tad too over-the-top. Random irksome thing: Xander makes Chelsea tell all her deep, dark secrets without divulging his own until the last 5% of the book.

2. British lingo, terminology and aphorisms in a book that takes place in New York City with both characters being from the US. Honestly, this irks me because if you're going to write a romance novel based in the US, take the time to learn and write using our brand of English. Just like if an author was writing a book taking place in the UK, but only used Americanisms- ludicrous!!!

3. The magically cured leg. The beginning of the story details Chelsea struggling to hobble down 20 flights of stairs because of an injured leg. Without ever going to physical therapy, or getting into a pool to exercise it, by the end of the book she's running in 6 inch stilettos. Really? The injury seemed like it was a bit pivotal to her being self-conscious and character development, so imagine my surprise when the author forgets to mention any signs of injury for the last 25% of the book.

Anyway, in the sea of trashy porno-erotica passing as romance, Breathe for Me isn't too bad but not a stand-out either.

I received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I've read a number of Ms Anderson's books over the years and I can honestly say, without a shadow of a doubt, I enjoyed Breathe for Me more than any of her previous work. Please don't misunderstand me - I've thoroughly enjoyed the other novels, but Breathe for Me successfully catapults her into the spicier side of romance. It's deliciously hot!

There are a number of other great reviews already posted that tell you about the troubled but endearing characters, so I'm not going to repeat that. I did enjoy that Chelsea, our heroine, was totally into a sexual adventure without looking for commitment from hot hot hot Xander. I waivered a bit on the fact that she wasn't prepared to take the lead when she is clearly a strong woman. But, the reasons for this became clear and, by crikey, does she come back with a real 'bang' (so to speak) in the end!

Ms Anderson weaves a strong story for each of the characters in behind what becomes the veneer of them both just wanting 'sex' when a commitment is really what they need and want from each other (let's face it, this is a romance). Xander's three closest friends are secondary characters that spark the reader's interest so that by the end of this engaging novel you'll want to pre-order Logan's story - Beg for Me. I know I certainly do!

BREATHE FOR ME by USA Today Bestselling Author Natalie Anderson is an April 2013 release.

Chelsea Greene was caught with the elevator not working during a fire alarm in her building. And she was in a bikini as she was on the roof top pool when the alarm sounded.

So when Xander Lawson swung her in his arms and carried her down, she didn’t really want to let go! But what was she hiding behind the hurt in her eyes? Was she ready to let go of the past to move into the future?

Xander had his own demons. He didn’t really want any commitments. He wasn’t ready, would he ever be?

BREATHE FOR ME is a sensual romance which would bring tears at it’s emotional intensity. It also has off the charts sexual chemistry between Xander and Chelsea. This is a story about recovering from past guilt and grief and moving forward. The premise was wonderful and story moved along very fast. Natalie Anderson has once again penned a superb, engrossing and fascinating romance which kept me hooked from the first page.

I loved this story and highly recommend it.

My rating 4.5 out of 5 stars.

This is panty drenching hot!!! If you're looking for some meaning of life emotional book then you have come to the wrong place. However, I must say I did really like the story line but it did not tug on my heart strings. The hero Xander is every girls dream come true and Chelsea is likeable. BUT if you are looking for something steamy and fun... HAWT GIF photo: Shots hawt.gif then this is for you.****(my only gripe is that it could use some editing)but hey it was free!! so two thumbs up! thumbs up gif photo: like 2iagcqe.gif

What a steamy book! I think that for the most part this book was predictable. But it didn't take away from the story. I loved Xander. This man who has had a rough childhood lives his life rescuing people and always playing and having a good time. When he meets Chelsea he knows there is something about her and he wants her bad. Maybe even bad enough to find out what haunts her.

Xander is very creative I have to say that. I loved all of the role playing that they did. Talk about hot. Of course the cat burglar one was the best one. These two are so emotionally stunted it isn't even funny. These two are hiding from their pasts and realize that this isn't just casual sex. This is the first book in a new series from what I can tell. I look forward to the next book about Xander's cousin Logan.

They need a kindle with a fan on it for books like this! Garsh!!!

These two unsuspecting horn dogs are just going to have a good time (repeatedly) until they are over their attraction. Don't these fools read books!?!? That NEVER ends well! LOL!

Loved how they both had enough issues to open a news stand and slowly but surely healed one another and found their way around the huge walls they had built around their respective hearts. Just a great story in dealing with unique and real issues of their own.

I truly cannot wait for hot, sexy, professional athlete hunky Logan's story...maybe I'll have rigged up a fan for the kindle by then! WOO HOO!

3.5 stars. The beginning of the book is really strong and there's one brief emotional scene towards the end that resonated with me, but the rest of the book was just average. I was disappointed that Chelsea's project never comes to fruitation on screen; a good chunk of plot line is devoted to it and then the plot line just stops. Also, one of the male characters shares the same first name as my son, which was uncomfortable for me lol

Giving this book four stars, maybe four and a half, seeing as I downloaded it off Amazon for free. Good storyline, steamy sex scenes, and a touch of humor, so I enjoyed this book, and will certainly give the second book a look at.
