All she wanted to do was forget. Forget the memory of walking in on her boyfriend in the middle of, well, another girl. Forget how she had her entire life planned out. And, forget about being perfect all the time. Unfortunately, she was Whitney Vandaveer and despite the fact that she moved to the middle of nowhere – she couldn't.

I've heard positive things about this author so when my amazon account kindly threw this book out into my recommendations I did what all book addicts do and happily one clicked this story right onto my kindle ... I don't regret the choice in fact this story had me smiling in parts, but it wasn't all 'meant to be' and sadly it ended up being a 'middle of the road' three stars. But don't be too discouraged 'escaping me' might just be your next good girl falls for bad boy five star h

Five amazingly sexy, smoldering, swoon worthy stars!!!

This was a sweet story about two young adults who struggled with finding themselves. I really enjoyed it. Cole was a hot and hotheaded guy who liked to show his emotions by using his fists. Whitney was pretty repressed by her wealthy and snobbish father. After catching her boyfriend cheating, she goes to stay with her mom on her farm for the summer. When she meets Cole there is definitely something there. After a few bumbling starts, they strike up a non friendship. It was fun to read this becau ...more

What can I say? This book had me engrossed from the first page. Whitney isn't your typical privileged girl and I loved watching her true character emerge, she is a firecracker.. but then there is Cole Pritchard. I have no words for him besides WOW!!! Talk about a heart stopper. I loved his broodiness, his stubbornness, his arrogance but also the glimmer of insecurities that he showed... I just loved him. He has shot straight into my book boyfriend list. I loved this book. If you are looking for ...more

Sweet Jesus, I looooved this book. I loved it more than Dr. Evil loves frickin' sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their frickin' heads. And let's just be honest...that's almost damn near impossible. So yeah - think about that for a second. If that statement alone doesn't make you want to read this book, I don't know how to help you.

The book was really going fine and amazing until the H's ex comes in to the view.

The H's ex girlfriend was with him until his brother returned to their town and she turned towards his brother and got ended up pregnant. H left the town after told by his brother that he's not gonna keep up with his Shit so he transfers H to some other small town where he meets h.

h was a sweet, bold and talented and I've only given the book 2 stars because of her. It's only because of her that the H and h

Whitney is a young 19 year old woman who does and says what she’s supposed to do, what she “thinks” is right. Not ever really stepping beyond the boundaries of what her father has laid out for her. Her parents split when she was 4 years old, separating her from her mother and sister. She chose to live with her fath

If only I could open this review as good as Elizabeth Lee started this story. Let’s just say when the lead girl, Whitney, literally passes out in bad-boy gone good, Cole’s, arms before even they even meet, you know you got a great story on the way. And Escaping Me was a really great story.

Whitney has lived with her father in the city all her life. She’s a city girl through and through, used to money and the fancier things in life. When she catches he

Escaping me is another worth buying summer read that make you all warm and fuzzy with optimistic emotions. From the first page I was hooked and wanted to know more about main characters, because of the great way they were created. Nice setting, amusing characters and really well bulit plot make Escaping me enjoyable romance story!

I adored this book! First of all... My book boyfriends are going to have to start fighting each other for the top for real! Anyways--

Whitney's life has never really been her own. She has always done what everyone else wants her to do. Her dad and the asshole Wes she has been with since high school have always made decisions for her. But that changes when she walks in on Wes screwing a girl he said she "had nothing to worry about." After deciding to drop his ass she moves in with her mom and sist

This one was cute and sweet. I liked it, but it didn't wow me. The storyline wasn't anything new, it was your typical NA/MA storyline. But this one was pretty well-written--which believe it or not is saying something these days.

Escaping Me is the story of Whitney and Jax. Whitney heads to the country to live with her mom and sister for the summer--after she catches her boyfriend of fours years cheating on her. The story starts with her collapsing at the end of her drive after over-heat

I enjoyed this cute story!

Whitney has been living in the big city with her father, and always doing what she's expected of, without ever really thinking for herself or knowing what she wants. She gets cheated on by her preppy boyfriend, and decides to spend the summer in the country with her mom and sister.

Cole's had a rough upbringing and can't seem to stay out of trouble. After his girlfriend leaves him for his brother - he's run

Things I learned from Escaping Me:

Drinking and driving is totally ok if you're in a small town. For real. I think the author told us that at least three times over the course of the book. Now, if you're really, really drunk, someone will probably take the keys from you, but just a little drunk? Just really buzzed? No problem. Drive away. After all, it's a small town. You probably won't hit anything.

Escaping Me was a sweet, sexy, and charming tale about two people finding love where they least expected it. Is it fate or chance that brought these two together? Either way, there is no doubt that this couple was meant to be together. Despite the obstacles they had to overcome, they followed their hearts.

I love the way the story began. It starts off with Whit running and thinking about her ex and the tramp she walked in on him with. I could completely relate with Whit and her feelings at this p

4.5 STARS!

First and foremost, y’all, I LOVE Cole Pritchett. My newest book boyfriend. FOR. SURE.

“I am the proverbial moth to his flame. I want-need-to be near him and find out everything I can.”

Escaping Me was one of those books I started and didn’t want to put down. It’s got everything I want in a book; great storyline, relatable characters, fun dialogue, a good bit of sexy times, a little booze and a oh so hot male lead. See, I’m infatuated with Col

She is the proverbial moth to his flame.

Whitney Vandaveer plans to start anew with her mother and her sister - no more letting people dictate what she would be and what she would do with her life.

Cole Pritchett doesn’t plan to start anew until his overbearing brother reached his boiling point and throw him away to a place where he would have to work – literally and also work his anger management issues.

First off yes if you know me at all you will know that I hardly ever give out 5 star ratings. Well this book has 5 star written all over it.

The main characters are Whitney and Cole. Whit escapes her posh lifestyle for farmlife after her high school boyfriend turns out to be a douchebag. Cole is escaping one small town for another hoping to start fresh.

Whit is tired of every man in her life controlling everything she does. Cole just wants to lay low and not be noticed, however people like Cole ca

This has to be one of my favorite reads of the year.

The characters were amazing. I was captivated by their story and I really cared about what happened to them.

Whitney, although a rich city girl, was sweet and quite down to earth for someone who'd been living the high life with daddy. I think she inherited more of her mother's personality, and it shone through from start to finish. Her mom and sister were so much fun, and they all shared this bond that couldn't be broken, even with the many mile

I'm giving up on the new adult books because they're all the same.

1 instant love
2 sexual tension that is predictable and off course instant to
3 sex scenes are all the same in these books. Baby you're so wet(come on get creative)
4 plot is predictable
5 bad boy always has tattoo's
6 the girl is always rich
7 The ex boy is always rich and bad in bed
8 the ex girl is always a psycho

o.k there some more things, but to sum it up: I skipped a lot and I didn't like the characters, I didn't like this book.

Impeccable writing, an emotional journey, and two of the most amazing characters I have ever read about, Escaping Me took my breath away. An amazing story of what it’s truly like to fall in love. Especially when you can’t figure out who you really are, and who everyone expects you to be.

We first meet Whitney Vandaveer. Trying to start over in a small town, very unlike the highlife society she was used to living, and pushing any thoughts of her lying, cheating, ex-boyfriend out of her head.

Take on this Journey:

Escaping Me, by Elizabeth Lee, was written with the dual perspectives of Whitney Vandaveer and Cole Pritchett. Whitney Vandaveer comes from divorced parents since she was a young child. Her younger sister, Mallory decided to stay with her mother, a throwback, 60's hippy type woman, who always laid it straight on the line, no holds barred woman. She stood by her daughters through thick and thin, never criticizing, even if she thought they were wrong. They lived in the small c

OMG, I’ve finally read a book by Elizabeth Lee! And it will most definitely not be my last book by her. I already bought Give Me Something and hope to find time to sneak it in soon. Escaping Me was such a feel good book that still managed to pack an emotional punch.

Whitney had her life all planned out, her life was perfect. When she catches her boyfriend, Wesley, cheating on her she escapes to stay with her mom and her sister Mallory. She’s trying to find out who she is now that she isn’t wi

“I’m backwoods, baby. The sooner you figure that out, the better off we both will be.”

I've been meaning to read this one for quite some time now. Everyone was just raving about a guy named Cole Pritchett and I had no idea why! The above quote sums Cole up perfectly. Not once did he ever make himself out to be anyone other than who he really was at heart. Meeting a girl like Whitney Vandaveer was never in the cards for a good ol' boy like him. Ok when we first meet Whitney she is unconscious. What a great entrance… she’s such a diva. LOL Of course a hot, handsome, dark knight shows up to rescue her. My luck I’d be found by a stinky garbage man with a beer-gut and bad-breath who’s dying to give me mouth to mouth… but I digress. Seems Whitney has been out running off her stress and frustrations over finding her perfect boyfriend “Wesley the Weasel” in bed with some college slut. She is not so used to the southern heat and passes out. Co ...more
