Two of LAPD’s finest, Officer Jeff Chandler and his partner Mickey Stanton, have been together on duty for three years. When Mickey first met Jeff, a lateral transfer from Rain City- Seattle, he was crazy about him. When the men were assigned to a two-man patrol car, Jeff and Mickey’s attraction blossomed. And from then on, it was playtime!
On the street, Jeff and Mickey were tough and fearless, doing their job to protect and serve, but the testosterone charged pair were wild and out of control with their passion for each other. They loved doing risqué acts on duty and craved the adrenalin rush, until Jeff becomes burned out with patrol. His ambition is to rise up in the ranks. Soon the two men are at odds with what direction their careers should take, and Mickey resents Jeff for wanting to split up their team.
As friction begins to develop between them, they still have to continue battling the crime on LA’s streets. Between the raging fury and the sexual heat of their relationship, there is true love, and that love is put to the ultimate test, nearly ending in tragedy.
Top Men- Mickey and Jeff- The police officers you grew to love from GA’s Action! and Hero Series, back again to give fans a wild ride into the darkest secrets and desires of COPS.

I first read about police officers Mickey and Jeff in Top Men, the third book of the Heroes series. I enjoyed that book but at the time made note that it was "Quite a good read but, dare I say it, maybe too much sex?! These guys are insatiable and like it violent and often!"
After three years together, these guys still like it rough and often. The police car is a favourite place for quickly getting each other off. But although it does have a lot of sex, this story focuses very much on the deep love Mickey and Jeff feel for one another.
They live together and work together, spending each day side-by-side in the squad car. They are able to watch over and protect one another. When it looks like their careers may be taking them in opposite directions and potentially splitting them up, things come to a head.
With sex, police action, shootings and a happy ending this was a fast paced and enjoyable read.
3.5 stars
If you haven't read the Heroes series yet, I can recommended the first book Man To Man which is about lifeguards. I am now going to start on the Action series (there are overlapping characters between the series).
I now publish all my m/m reviews on my blog so if you want to see all my m/m reviews in one place come visit at Because Two Men Are Better Than One!
HOT & INTENSE. I liked it! This was a little better than Top Men for me.
Everything from Top Men was here, Jeff and Mickey, their intense relationship, their intense romance, their intense and risque encounters, it's still all here. Jeff & Mickey
The difference between the two is Jeff & Mick matured a little here. I still didn't liked how they handled their issues, but at least they're not as childish as the first one.
The scene I love the most was the climax, the bank robbery. That one got me. I salute these guys. Not just Jeff & Mick, but for all who those have relationships with people in service. Warning: NSFW GIF
Btw, I'm not a fan of the ending.
This was a good one for me. A RECOMMENDED read. I think this could be read as a standalone but it would be a lot better if you read the other books from the Heroes series first. Enjoy!
Okay, so I want to leave a review because I adored these two. Yeah, it isn't always believable for RL. But,m guess what? Sometimes I want to read a book whith a ton of sex and some quick resolutions. Throw in some damn Cops and its over. So yeah, I loved the hell out of this. Smutfest 2013! Whuuuuuut!
I enjoyed reading more about some of my favorite characters and I've always liked Mickey and Jeff. This story is like a snippet of their continued relationship with lots of hot interludes because they can't get enough of each other. But it also has a bump come up in the road for the two. I don't really feel like it was resolved and I'm just not sure where it leaves these two. I still enjoyed the interactions and the entire gang.
I'm a huge Hauser fan. I have enjoyed many of her books including the Heroes trilogy. Three stories in LA, book 1 was lifeguards, 2 was firefighters and the 3rd cops. Which is the one this story continues from.
I was not only looking forward to seeing how this couple's next few years (after their marriage) progress but seeing the other two couples as well.
The fact that they are married is never mentioned. What a disappointment.
This story should have just been a very short novella. Jeff wants to move up the ladder at the police force because he is tired of the day in and out of patrol and Mickey just loves working with his partner day and night. Mickey feels betrayed and hurt Jeff wants to stop working with him. Talk, fight, make up and give me more story. But NO it was 250 long pages of the same thing over and over again with sex thrown in.
Sex, sex, and more dirty, dirty sex. I loved that they were an established couple (on further investigating their partnership started in Top Men of the heroes series as did many of the other couples in this book) and would love to read about the other men in the series.
I did find that these two were a classic example of a co-dependant couple, however. While it's romantic in fantasy, if they were real I'd suggest some counselling.
Whatever things I missed in Top Men were all present inside this book and I loved to see Mickey and Jeff's relationship grow. Can't wait to read more about them. Hope there's more to come :D
Officer Mickey Stanton (8-Adam-1, West Bureau LAPD, aka Mouse), & Officer Jeff Chandler 8-Adam-1, West Bureau LAPD partner had just gone through the tactical training & the gun range with flying colors. They shared more than a townhouse in Anaheim, CA, together. Some police calls, stakeouts & few reports to write up. Lots of gay sex even while on the job. As a former crisis MH & school social worker I have nothing against GLBT?.
Warning: This book is for adults only & contains graphic adult content &/or sexually explicit scenarios. It may be offensive to some readers.
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A fairly well written cop book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great movie, or better yet a mini TV series. Not a whole lot of police story content. That said I will only rate it at 3/5 stars.

Jeff and Mickey are back. I'll be honest, it's been years since i read Top Men and I've forgotten a lot about the book. Some of it came back to me while reading this one. I did enjoy what little plot there was in the story. The majority of it was sex, lots and lots of sex. Which is fine, sometimes i like that, this wasn't one of those times. As usual with G.A. Hauser books a lot of characters from other series make appearances.
Wow this book is so full of exceptional men who throw their lives at crime and the cost of their emotional well being when "being in the closet" is all their "society" will except. Macho men are expected to desire "women" and not other men no matter what the toll!
Light entertaining e-read. M,/M fiction set primarily in a LAPD patrol car or Anaheim, with plenty of aggressive sex to move along the story line. Primary characters are well painted, peripheral had enough to peak interest, climax and resolution satisfying.
a lot of sex. I liked there was an established couple. A sex scene so soon into the book is okay. But I would have liked a bit more story before jumping into more sex. Eventually it got around to it.
I like how this story is told between the two main characters they both get at least one chapter devoted to their points of view. The story is also told at a fast pace. This is good if you are the type of person that can get bored halfway through a book because it moves too slowly.
This is a book that tells the story of two patrol officers, Jeff and Mickey. Now, apparently there’s been a prequel to this when Jeff and Mick first met, and there is some debate about this one not following properly on the previous story. However, I having read only this believe this is an easy standalone and did not feel lost in following it.
Reading this book left me with lots of feelings and thoughts. There are the realistic details of the job described that, while they gave the story credibility, were a bit too much. Too much detail and I started feeling the weight of all the mundane little things a cop endures during his routine. I suppose it was a great way to show how and why Jeff got burn out from his job and wanted to move on, but by the end of it, it got too tiresome.
Some of those incidents though were pretty spectacular, like when our guys get a welfare call. Good grief, I felt as if I was a bystander there and started to actually gag from the images the description caused. In the end I simply wished this read was polished a bit more and had only the intensity and the events instead of every little detail about the straps holding the Kevlars, the cleaning of the weapons and the routine of changing from civilian clothes to uniform.
More thoughts brought the relationship this pair shared. Jeff and Mickey are lovers in closet. It’s easy to see why as they are cops and don’t want the derision of their fellow cops, and they are partners in their job. A coming out would only serve in their splitting and not working together anymore, which brings us to the theme of the book.
Jeff needs to move along in his career, he has the chance to do so by testing for sergeant, but Mickey freaks out at the idea of not working with his lover, not having him to back him up, or make the day and the patrol worthwhile. Seeing as they constantly had risqué sex while working, get on each other in parking lots and abandoned buildings, Mickey goes completely nuts at the idea of working alone. So the entire story revolves around Jeff wanting to get off the first line of fire and Mickey throwing an outrageous drama fit that, while quite aggressive, was unbelievably selfish.
This is the part that the book lost me completely. I didn’t mind the risky behavior, I didn’t mind their interactions with their friends – and let me tell you that was one weird interaction even for me – I didn’t mind the impossibly long details as much as I minded Mickey’s behavior. I don’t think I’ve encountered a more selfish character that didn’t get redeemed in the end. This story ends with a huge guilt trip Mick throws onto Jeff and I was standing there, slack-jawed and wondering what the hell just happened?
Bottom end, I liked the whole aggressive, risky sex in this book, I liked the incidents the cops found in their work, even the little ones, and I liked the chemistry between the two, but I did not enjoy the rest at all. The fact that this could have been much shorter if properly polished and much more bearable made the frustration grow there at the end.
I liked this book. I understand this is some kind of sequel to a book that is actually part of a series that somehow is related to some other series... so yeah, a lot of history I didn't know about. All in all that was not a problem. Lots of people appeared as secondary characters, friends to the MCs and yes, you can feel things are deeper (with what the other series stories) but that is not really relevant to this story. You get the MCs are really close to their friends and that's that. So OK, you could read this story as a stand alone and still like it. Like I did.
The story is about a couple of cops. Partners in every way, both work and life who are also walking a little on the dependent side of things border-lining the dark side of unhealthy... and then suddenly life happens and they cope badly. They fight, they fail to communicate and start to pull apart. More things happen then as a result, drama, some action and some angst added to the mix for good measure.
If asked I'd they got their HEA but then again not really cause they don't get over what made their relationship weak, they moved the issues aside and put a 1-year stamp on it. Could be more stories on their story...
The book goes on dual POV which I like cause I'm nosy that way and love to know what's on the MCs minds at all times. The sex is hot and hotter yet when they can't wait till their shift ends ^^
2.5 stars! First of all, the guys on the cover are smoking baby! Sadly, I had quite a bit of problems with this one.
♦ The words they yelled at each other during their fuck sessions were absurd. Don't get me wrong, sometimes it was hot; however, by the end of the story, all the aggressive sex words were overdone. ♦ There was no plot, most of the time. ♦ The whole group kissing each other on the lips was weird. They might as well have an orgy. ♦ Mickey was being an immature prick when he wasn't letting Jeff do what he wanted to. Instead of talking about it and compromising, he goes bat-shit crazy.
I ended up skipping over some parts after I got exhausted, because of my unconcern to what was going on in the book.
This story could have been made into a great one; if it had a better plot, because I liked the two MCs, for the most part.
