When the evil you fear is born from within, who will save us…from ourselves?

Sometimes our souls hear what our minds and hearts refuse to accept. It will whisper its continuous cadence until we're strong enough to glimpse the truth. But when the soul's whispers morph into screams, we're forced to gaze into the mirrors of time and see ourselves for who we really are.

Even as the fourth book in the series, this is just as good as the rest of the series. There's something amazingly special about this series that never fails to capture your attention and make you fall in love! You cannot go wrong with this series, once you start, you are hooked!

Are you kidding me right now? This series is still amazing even at the fourth book! I don't think I've loved a whole series the way that I love the Daughters of the Sea books! It's thi

I absolutely love this series and this book may be the best yet! Olivia is so complex and I adored getting to know her better. The Sebastian twist was brilliant, and I love Fallon. This is an amazing series and I can't wait to read more!!

I have no words... Totally shocked! Loved this book! Kristen Day did it again! I love the characters in this series!! Stasia got a little annoying in this installment (I mean I get she was all zombie'd out but still!) but Finn was as sexy and smoldering as usual. I am so happy we got to read from Olivia's POV. LOVE HER! Always have! And Phwoar! Sebastian! Yummy! Steamy scenes with those two! Love that she went there! I was totally surprised! Five stars again! I cannot wait to read the next book! ...more

Now this book picked up relatively where we left off in the ending of book 3. I am so very glad it did too. I so missed Finn and Stasia! I loved the new twist in this book with Atlantis. And the action in this book once again will keep you guessing at what will happen. I have to admit that while I love Finn and Stasia there really is not a single character in this book that I don't feel a bond with. I love how easy it is to make these characters your close personal friends. Kristen Day did an AM ...more

This book certainly deserves 5 stars and may, possibly, be the best of the series so far. I was instantly hooked when I read the first few pages of Forsaken and I have stayed hooked through to the end of this one, book 4. I can't wait for the next!

Every character in this series is well written and draws you to them. This book gave us the opportunity to find out more about Olivia which was great and introduced more humour. It was even better when Olivia also 'found' Sebastian. Move over Finn y

Holy cow, what an "ending"! Now I have to wait for Proven! I absolutely loved reading from Olivia's point of view, and Finn's. I am in love with Sebastian, he is funny and adorably cute! I don't want this series to ever end. It's so nice to have found an author that encompasses everything I look for in a book. Well written, action packed, unpredictable, whitty conversations or remarks that have me laughing out loud, sad moments that make me cry, and of course a tiny bit of sensual romance. I am ...more

Wow Kristen Day has done it again with the fourth book of the Daughters of the Sea Series. In Hearken we see Stasia having bad nightmares and ending up on the beach and they are getting worse.

As a Sea Goddess she has to choose her council. One being Olivia, who none of the council really like her . Olivia is keeping a secret from Stasia though, she is a Paladin and she is there to protect Stasia, not being an annoying hang on that Stasia thinks.

You don't realize how much you miss someone until you start reading about them again and boy did I miss all the sexiness that is Finn, "looking for me?" The voice echoed in my thoughts at the exact moment I tumbled hard into something solid. A very amused Finn appeared out of nowhere and pulled me close as he chuckled darkly." And he still has it bad for his girl, "I' build you a whole new neighborhood of houses," he declared out loud, and everything around us faded away." And you don't say anyt ...more

Amazing! I can't believe this series! It has totally blown me away and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love how Anastasia has developed throughout the series, but Olivia has grown and changed so much that she's hardly recognizable. Overall, this series is now a favorite and I am just floored. I can't wait for Proven because I can't get enough. The relationship between Finn and An

Best yet!

Love this book the most so far! At first the different POV made it confusing but once I got use to it, it made for a far more dynamic story!

Despite Anastasia’s recurring nightmares and the fact a couple of ancient relics have been stolen right under the Sons of Daimon’s noses, the show must go on and Stasia and her newly formed Council travel to the mythical island of Atlantis. There, Stasia’s newly appointed Warrior Olivia must learn about Stasia’s protection the hard way, even if it means suffering a broken heart along the way.

Where do I begin? In keeping with the series, this book continues the saga with beautiful horses and the
Forsaken tells the absolutely enchanting story of a young girl with a terrible past and terrifying destiny.
17 year old Hannah, who had been found on the porch of a police station at an age of only about 8 months and gone through many foster homes - not all of them good places - has no sense of belonging to her adoptive family and a thick wall build around her heart, not letting herself to get attached to anyone. This was a cross between Harry Potter "You're a wizard Harry" and Percy Jackson "You're a Demi-God" or in Hannah/Stasia's case Sea Goddess.
Hannah was abandoned by her Sea Goddess mother and raised in the foster care system, before finding her way into a rich family who could afford therapists to help her deal with her traumatic past, which is ultimately how she had her "you're a wizard Harry" moment... but instead of being told what she was, she was shipped off to some strange island to be with
I'm just going to go right ahead and say it - I loved this book. I don't think I've ever read a novel where it was based around Sea Gods and Goddesses - I mean, I know about Percy Jackson and the like, but they talk about all the Greek gods in general - with Forsaken, Day zones in on just the sea gods and their powers, which I really found intriguing The plot was thick, the background was set in stone, and the writing style was captivating - it was everything I look for in a good read.

Ms. Day has woven together a wonderful combination of endearing characters and intriguing plotlines to create The Daughters of the Sea, a five book series that will wrap up with the final book expected to be released in 2014. These are not standalone novels and should be read in order since each continues where the last left off.

Stunning imagery and the development of more complex characters makes this my favorite book yet in the series! Olivia has become my favorite character in the series. I know - I'm supposed to like Stasia the best - but Olivia is my favorite because she is snarky and has a razor sharp wit. She can flay you with words or dazzle you with her brilliance, but deep down her heart is big enough to move mountains.
Sebastian is super yummy, and his amazing ancestry had me picking my jaw up off the floor.

At first i was skeptical when i heard about a fourth book because i though the third book ended pretty well, but Kristen Day managed to write another amazing story. the the plot was perfect. This book I was just too good! As soon as I got it from the author I started reading and couldn't stop until I reached the end. Usually when the narration of the story is split between two different characters I end up skipping on of the narrations because I find it too repetitive or I just couldn't wait for the next part. I felt that the author in Hearken was able to efficiently split the narration so that each part was exciting a

In this installment we really get to see a whole new side to Stasia and unfortunately less of Finn. There is something different going on with this one. Kristen Day put a new twist to the story with this one adding to the reveries that Stasia has.

Again I loved it. There was adventure. Love. Magic. And it kept me on the edge of my seat. You really never know what is going to happen in a Kristen Day book.

Only twice in my life have I finished a series and had actual withdrawals. First was the Harry Potter books and then the Twilight saga. I read a LOT of series. I also read a lot about the sea and it's creatures and anything connected to them. I have fallen in love with the Daughters Of the Sea series. The characters are incredible and the story is addictive. Finn is my dream guy and Stasia is who I wanna' be when I grow up :D I cannot WAIT till Proven is ready!

I have love Kristen Day since her first book! The Daughter of Sea Series is by far one of my favorites!

I love that we see so much of Olivia and learn more about her. In the other books, she popped in, but you knew that more was going on there. Then there is Sebastian! Oh, that boy *swoon*!!

Oh, and lets not forget the surprise twists and turns that only Kristen Day can write!!!

When is the next book?????

I started reading this in May, then forgot all about it! (pls don't ask how because I have no idea)
Once I remembered that I had this on my kindle, I made short work of reading it all.

The different POVs was refreshing and not at all confusing.
I was pleased to see that the next book will be released on the eighth.
I've pre-oredered, and looking forward to being one of the first to read it!

The fourth installment in this series does not disappoint. The books just keep getting better and better. This book caused me a whirlwind of emotions. I love the addition of Fallon and "Sebastian" and a few others. The other also shows development of supporting characters, by switching the point-of-view throughout the book. I can't recommend this series enough. Kristen Day is a superb author who has not received enough attention!

I always hoped there would be more to Olivia than the snotty slutty classmate. She seems to mature a lot in this book. She learns more about herself and her destiny. Sebastian is more than he seems and Finn and Olivia are concerned. Stasia gains far more family than she needs in this installment. Cliffhanger ending makes the wait for Eventide seem that much longer
It was a very nice series and we got to see others point of view which was great I like Olivia soo much I love her personality and how she can go beyond the line o protect Stasia and I'm starting to like Sebastian also, I need the next book as soon as possible!!!
