Little Red Riding Hood strays off the path on her way to her Grandmother’s house and runs into a wolf, things quickly take a turn for the worst as she learns her lesson about listening to instructions from her Mom. The main characters are described by their traits such as mischievous, or oblivious. This story has been adapted many times but typically the story line stays about the same. I was read this story as a child and always thought it was a fun read. I would still use it as a storytelling opportunity because I think it should be passed down through generations and can open up some good dialogue between parents and kids or students and teachers.
Little Red Riding Hood lives in a small cottage at the end of the forest. She was going to her grandmas to give her a basket of food. Little Red Riding Hood and her grandma were eaten by a wolf in the woods and then were saved by a woodcutter. After getting away from the wolf, the wolf ran back into the forest.
Little Red Riding Hood is a great book when trying to inform students about stranger danger. It's also a great fantasy book depicting different illustrations and good for getting the students to interact as well.
Cute illustrations, wolf looks cunning but not too evil. Class retelling with wolf gobbling up grandma and LRRH but spitting out at the end (woodcutter shakes wolf) and wolf runs away never to return.
Little Red Riding hood was on her way to bring her sick grandma some food. And on her way there she caught up with the wolf. The wolf ended up eating both of them but then the wood cuter rescue them.
This book and the entire series of classic children’s stories are noteworthy for the beautiful illustrations. The books are extra large approximately 14 by 10 inches allowing for truly exceptional imagery. The storylines, while adjusted for modern sensibilities, remain faithful to the originals.
I read these to my toddler while she sat in my lap wide eyed and fascinated by the big colorful and evocative images. I often wished I could frame some of the pages and display them on my wall.
