That’s the choice offered to shy animal empath Kirby Brown by her new friend Faith.
Faith is mated to one of a warrior race of werewolves, the only beings who can save the world from merciless demons, and she believes Kirby's abilities can help them in their battle.
Intrigued by the strange new world, Kirby is tempted to assist them—especially when she's drawn to the compelling and sexy Rane Wolfen.
Immediately upon meeting Kirby, Rane knows she's his mate. Fearing for her safety, he forbids her from using her talents in the brutal battle that is to come.
Kirby worries that she's finally escaped her overprotective brothers only to find herself involved with an equally dominating man.
Can Kirby and Rane overcome their differences and work together to help save the world? And can Rane convince Kirby that they are indeed destined to be mates?

"The second book in the Armageddon Mates series is nothing short of incredible!" Shannon at The Romance Studio
I’m a mother of four. I started writing down my story ideas in high school, and never really stopped. Writing, I have to say, is my salvation. After I've gotten all the kids in bed and have cleaned up, I sit at my computer or sometimes a notebook with a pencil, and relax, write, and escape. I am a member romance writers of Australia, romance novel center. You can find me on Facebook. I love to hear from any of my readers, so feel free to send me an email
I really have a feeling we are no longer in Kansas... Oh my Dorothy, you are sooo right!
This book is about the age old struggle of good vs evil. It's about an alternate world where Werewolves and other magical creatures exist. They fight to protect the human race from the forces of evil aka Demons, minions, and Zombies.
This is the story of Rane a badass werewolf and his innocent mate Kirby (a name that I totally hate because of the video game persona so I called her Kim throughout). You can see my problem here, right?
Kim/Kirby had a special ability to communicate and somewhat control animals and minions. A skill that would prove most useful to the group of Werewolves and Soldiers that are trying to defend all of humanity. The hero Kane wanted only to protect his mate and he did not want her to fight at all. Again, the age old struggle of the protective alpha vs the intelligent woman.
Honestly, I LOVED this book. It was super hot with the steamy sexy scenes and the sweet tender moments that has you saying Wow. Also, some cute funny banter and verbal foreplay that I LOVED! SO IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A 5 STARS FOR ME!
However, it was not all I thought it would be! Now given my current fascination with the series Supernatural this book should have been a joy to read. I should have been finished in a few short hours max, however this was not the case.
Please, Allow me to explain why.
Firstly, we had too many POV and too many stories inter connected to this one. Too many secondary characters who become the focus instead of the hero and heroine. I was very confused and I had to stop many times to reread what was going on. I felt tossed and turned around for most of the book. I could see that the author was using this in order to move the story along, but it was confusing me. I would have enjoyed less fighting and drama for nothing in favor of a more fluid story line. This is why I gave it a lower rating. The story in principle was great but for me the reality of it left me feeling a little disoriented. You know that feeling you get when you go to the washroom while watching a movie....
In all, I mostly enjoyed this book and would recommend this to all those who enjoy shifter, and alternate reality stories. Worth a read and maybe a reread down the line so that I may understand it all better. I honestly think I should read the book before this one to fully understand this story. I may do that! I really enjoy this writers passionate love scenes. HOT!
Safety: she is virgin and he is experienced but no OW scenes, no cheating, no drama, no real pushing and pulling. No condoms.
Another breathtaking romance mixed with non stop action!
This series just keeps getting better and better, Kirby is the newest edition to Faith's group of friends and also happens to be the mate to one of the Wolfen's, and that is Rane. I love the girls in this book because they are no pushovers, but they don't all start out as demon killing machines they work at it and do the best that they can with what they've got. I also enjoyed seeing some awesome heroines show these military boys that being a woman doesn't mean they can't kick some demon ass!
Unlike the alpha Rane had no intention of resisting his mate. In fact he had a hard time keeping is hands of her. I really liked the fact that Rane was more open to having a mate, but still gave her some space. He was still all alpha though. He knew what he wanted and did whatever it took to get it which is one of the reasons I love these alpha heroes they aren't afraid to fight for what they desire.
Kirby was a sweet and sassy character that I was able to relate to a lot. She was an animal lover which I found endearing and a bit funny under the circumstances. She was a bit shy at first, but really came into her own as the story progressed. I really enjoyed getting to know her and see her grow into the strong woman she is.
I cannot wait to read more of this series and its kickass heroines!
The second installment in the Armageddon Mates series was gripping and had me excited for more!
In this follow up to Kane's Mate (Armageddon Mates) it's Kane's brother Rane's turn to get his mate. Kirby has moved away from her home to get away from her over controlling brothers and parents. Then she meets Rane a wolf shifter who's just as much if not more possessive than her family. Rane knows that Kirby is his mate the minute he sees her, Kirby is a human but enhanced she has an affinity with animals. Kirby finds it difficult to believe that this gorgeous hunk is interested in her. But he literally sweeps her off her feet.
I liked this second book a whole lot more than the first. I thought Rane and Kirby's characters were very relatable. Kirby is not quite so full in as Faith was from the first story, though having said that Faith features heavily in this and is just as domineering. The balance between the romance and action parts of the story were very well balanced as well. Hot scenes were well mixed with the great action parts. A recommended read.
I think Rane's Mate Rocked. It grabbed you right from the beginning and does not let go of your attention. The world building continues to impress in this the second installment of Armageddon Mates.
Book two in the series takes us farther into the battle with the demons. And things get way more actiony! Several colossal fight scenes! Again the book is not perfect but it is an improvement on the first. And the story is engaging and dynamic.
I liked that they took a little time to get to know each other and establish a report. Things moved fast but that is the norm when you are dealing with shifter romances. The whole true mate thing moves it right along.
Kirby starts of sweet and kind of shy but boy does she grow a set by the end of the book!! I was like "You go girl!"
Rane is more of the typical Alpha wolf who goes all caveman when his mate is anywhere near danger. It is kind of endearing at times.
The steam is off the charts this time!! Hot and heavy action mingled in at just the right moments!!
I am loving all the mate pairings. I would love more information on them in coming books. Like what powers each supernatural holds. It is one of the things I become obsessed with while reading.
I can not wait for the next book!! I am so ready for Logan to get his butt handed to him!! Karma and all that!
This story was better then book one "Kane's Mate". We get farther into the battle with the demons and more action takes place. It's not perfect still jumps around some, but is an improvement from book one. I enjoy the world building, seeing all the mate hook ups, and how this series is progressing.
I liked that the main characters Rane and Kirby got to know each other before jumping into the HOT and STEAMY. Kirby starts off shy and sweet, but she grows into a woman who will stand up for herself and toughs she loves. Rane is the typical Alpha wolf who goes all caveman when his mate is near danger.
Kirby and Rane are great. If you have read Kane's Mate then you really need to read this as well. In fact I recommend that you do read Kane's Mate if you have not already done so...go read it now...then read Rane's Mate.
There are a few times when I felt a bit confused with all the characters and their names but the more you read the easier it becomes. There are times when the pace is fast and that's ok because there is a lot going on. It's a war with casualties and violence. There is some hot loving and some possessive werewolves. After reading both books, my understanding of the world the characters live in is becoming clearer. I look forward to the next book Ave's Mate.
Kirby was very shy and sheltered but through the book we see her grow into herself becoming more confident and sure about herself, standing up for what she wants and needs to do. While Rane's seemed to have learned from his brother's mistakes with his mate, well mostly learned, he still makes mistakes of his own since he is used to being in charge ,dominant and having to fight his instints while trying to give his mate time to get to know him. The story was very fast paced with its action scenes but also had some slower parts while the relationship developed and meet alot of new characters and can't wait until some of them have there own books to hear about them.
I like that there are more mates showing up. Now we just have to see if the wolves and other supernatural beings, along with the military can hold out against the demons and their minions.
Book number two in the Armageddon Mates series. It's now Rane's turn to get his mate.
Kirby is a human with an affinity with animals. She has moved from home because of her overbearing brothers and wishes to prove she is an independent woman. However, after discovering she is Rane's mate and discovering werewolves exist and battle demons to protect humans she now wonders if she left one overbearing home for another.
Rane is major in the military, now training humans to fight against demons, and has just discovered his mate. His biggest challenge now is trying to allow Kirby the freedom to grow and help in the war waging on the world.
I have to say, this one isn't a favorite of mine of the series. Kirby seemed to go from shy and pushover to independent and fierce mate overnight. I just don't think that was consistent. Also Faith seemed to get quite a bit of mention in the book because she's so special and all powerful. I just think the other females are just as important as Faith.
I am enjoying this seres. it is similar to a few other books within this genre, but i like it never the less. I think i enjoyed the first one a little better, but this one was good also. I love the girls in this book because they are no pushovers, most of the women don't start out powerful and are not fighter but they learn and then use their power to help with fighter.I like it their females have powers like the ones in Caris Roanes book. In most books the alpha has all the powers and the female is just his mate, not these books. . I enjoy the world building, and seeing all the mates hook up. can't wait for the rest. good so far.
Hazel Gower does it again in the second Armageddon series Kirby a sweet Shy girl and new friend of Faiths has the ability of animal empathy, which means she could help the fight with the werewolf's will she that is the question.
Rane hot sexy part of the team the minute he meets Kirby he knows that she is to be his mate but knowing that she is shy he will not do what Kane did to faith.
This Is another must read by Hazel Gower it's got the heat the sex and the fun and friendship and is just so hot you won't want it to end so go see what will Kirby decide and can Rane win her over?
I couldn't finish it. I liked the description of the book. But some things in it were so foolish that I just shook my head. I also couldn't get into the way the author writes. It just wasn't my cup of tea.
I loved the blend of scifi, wolf shifter, paranormal, and hot erotic sex. Also I loved the action in this story. It was very entertaining to read. When Faith kicked Logan's ass. The hilarity.
Loved this series from the beginning and it seems to get better and better with each book. Rane and Kirby make a great read with a few new characters added as well as several favourites.
