Brilliant. I was given this as a graduation present by my parents and read it every day over a bowl of Branflakes and raisins in my squalid Willesden Green bedsit in 1991. I couldn't have been further from the countryside but I adored this book. Everything from the history of man's impact on the land to different kinds of pigs. Lovely.
