The elite and beautiful Ririchiyo Shirakiin has a bad habit--she can't help but lash out at people with her vicious tongue, all while hiding behind a mask of haughty cool. This attitude has a lot to do with people minding her business because of the Shirakiin family name, but it troubles Ririchiyo to no end. In search of independence and solitude, she moves to the Maison de Ayakashi, an apartment building full of wealthy tenants and with its own Secret Service. Ririchiyo is eager to be alone, but upon her arrival, she is greeted by Soushi, an SS agent arranged for her by her parents. Ririchiyo tries to turn Soushi away, but Soushi's dogged devotion to his new mistress will not be deterred. The threat against the residents of the Maison de Ayakashi are not to be taken lightly, after all. And despite his puppy-like demeanor, Soushi is not to be trifled with either...
Cocoa Fujiwara (藤原 ここあ 藤原 ここあ Fujiwara Kokoa, April 28, 1983 – March 31, 2015) was a Japanese manga author and illustrator from Fukuoka Prefecture. Her debut was with a work called Calling, which she made when she was only fifteen. She chose not to go to high school so that she could draw manga. Fujiwara was a fan of RPGs such as Final Fantasy, which shows in her works. She was also good friends of Jun Mochizuki and Yana Toboso.
Fujiwara's works Watashi no Ookami-san and Dear have both been published in Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Wing. Two drama CDs have been made of her work Dear. Fujiwara's manga Inu x Boku SS was adapted into an anime series by David Production which aired in Japan between January and March 2012. At the time of her death, she was serializing her manga Katsute Mahō Shōjo to Aku wa Tekitai Shiteita. in Square Enix's Gangan Joker online magazine, leaving the series unfinished.

I'm crying so much, I can't recover from what had happened in this volume. I am so sad and I don't know what will happen next. I wasn't expecting this to happen, but I still think that this series is beautiful.
Ririchiyo is a girl who is born into a wealthy lifestyle because of what she is. Although she has everything she wants, she doesn't have the love of her family. When she tries to make friends, she gets hurt while hurting others. Since she didn't want to hurt anyone, including herself, she uses her lashing tongue as a disguise so that she can be alone. Later on, she moves into Maison de Ayakashi and meets Soushi. He is there for her, understands her and is not affected by her lashing tongue. Will Ririchiyo accept Soushi's kindness and get closer to others including Soushi? Read more to find out! :)
I am having so much trouble writing this review because of everything that happened in this volume. I am so scared to read the next volume, but I have hope as well. I hope that everything goes well in the next volume. The characters in this series are so unique and different from each other. They all have crazy personalities and I love all of them. Natsume is hilarious, as is Onii-Sama. Banri is great and Roromiya is a great friend, she is the best! Ririchiyo went through so much and I love her character. Soushi is great, I just hope for the best, I don't know what will happen next.
The pacing is so fast in the past few chapters. There are a few comic relief chapters that help me cope with what is happening. All of the things that happen in this series is unpredictable. It's so much fun, but there is painful moments as well. Learning more about the character's pasts is really interesting.
I am super scared to read the next volume, wish me the best of luck! I'll be off to the next volume and I already started reading Carry On and I hope it's good!
This volume was better than the past few have been, mostly because of the smaller amount of those stupid pointless random pages. The pages everyone else likes because they are supposed to be funny. Well, they aren't. This book had some character building chapters, and honestly would be the start of actually giving anyone who isn't Ririchiyo some dimension. If something didn't (I GUESS) happen that changes everything. I am horribly confused. The end of the book makes it look like (spoiler alert)
everyone died, including Ririchiyo, because she seems to be flooded with memories, but they only show that Miketsukami (sp?) dies. WHAT GIVES? If everyone does die somehow, how, when, and why? There was just getting to FINALLY be something to the characters aside from one track personalities. I am kind of annoyed, and confused. Still, this is a lot better than two and three, and I FINALLY actually want to read book 5 instead of dreading it.
So Volume 4 finishes up the "prologue" to the series and covers material that wasn't in the anime. To avoid spoiling anything, all I can really say is "shit just got real."
Whereas the rest of the series so far has opted for a slice-of-life with magical monsters sort of feel, the majority of this volume introduces a proper villain and raises the stakes. Well, as much as the stakes can be raised when you reincarnate with large portions of your memory in tact. Dangerous, life-and-death struggles kind of lose something when you're just short of a DBZ resurrection, you know?
I don't think the "prologue" has a satisfying finish, but it may just be a matter of preference.
I don’t even know what to say about this volume. I want to cry and rage and throw the book at the wall and re-read to try to understand all at the same time. I just don’t understand what happened or why it happened or what’s going to happen next.
I’m going to try very hard to not spoil anything, but I don’t know how to talk about it without… talking about it.
So it started out pretty good. There was some focus on Nobara and her relationship with Sorinozuka, which was nice. There were some humorous comics, which is always nice. The comedic element of this series is just gold, perfectly done, and truly hilarious.
Ririchiyo and Soushi went to her home, and we got to see some more of their relationship, and ohmygod they are so cute. Then something happened with Roromiya. Which just expanded into something worse. And then exploded into the worst thing ever and I don’t know how to handle it. And then slowed into something that purely has me confused.
I don’t understand. That’s all I can say at this point. I don’t understand what’s going to happen next, or how anything can be done about what happened. I actually want to cry, because my heart is breaking over what happened. But also my head is exploding and I don't know how to handle it.
So I don’t want to wait for the next volume. I want it right this instant, because I need to know what happens. Which means that the wait till it's release in October is going to be just horrible.
Sidenote: I love the cover on this volume. I'm not sure why it stands out so much more than the others to me, I'm not even sure if it's Roromiya, but I just think it's gorgeous.
Teda až na poslední díl, ten to naprosto zkazil, protože má žluté okraje a název, což nemá žádný díl, a bílé pozadí.
The last chapter boosted my rating by one star. Like the previous three volumes there’s so much chaff it bogs down the main plot lines and can get meandering and confusing. As always, Coco’s art is stellar and that last chapter is proof. The next volume should start on a high note and I’m looking forward to reading it.
Even if I knew what was going to happen, to actually read it and see the images was too much. Cuz I like all the characters, a lot. This volume has some funny moments (like when Ririchiyo-sama is practicing to say 'I like you' to Miketsukami in front of the parrot, and then the parrot repeats it in front of Miketsukami) or Nobusara with Renshou (she cares for him, but it is her nature to behave like that).
Then it changes with the attack to Karuta, and the problem of her not able to turn into human again. The last chapter was very sad. Miketsukami is such a sweet, pervert, crazy and beautiful character. It was nice to see all of them fighting together, even Zange, who demonstrates his power here.
Not sure if there's anyone who didn't see something similiar happening. (As in, on they were happy, obviously now something horrid must happen to them!) I don't like how the time-skip's been handled so far, though. We'll see..
(If the others all got 4 stars, then #4 and #5 get 3.5 and 3-3.5 each, I think.)
Everything was too peaceful for the good times to last, but why start with Carta? She's one of my favorite characters in the story with her endless love for food (her throwback is a gashadokuro after all). We've had foreshadowing, so I wasn't caught off guard by the tragic events, but I was still surprised by how everything went down. Now to see where we go from here...
WTF? Really, I am so confused! Everything started pretty cute with all character development and so..then it turned out tragedy! Inugami Mikoto, that new demon guy! I hate you, but your face is beautiful. And maybe Kageori isn't that bad at all. Two things: Poor Karuta and Soushi :'(
This was unexpected and heartbroking! But I'm hopeful for the future, based on what I've heard so far about this manga (read the summaries for volume 5 and 6). Himnae!
It finally happened! What the previous volumes had forshadowed. It was sad how they die and I was left wondering how they would pick up the story and continue. The whole time thing is interesting...
