Rate this book
As a former stripper, Erika Lyremark has seen it all: disrespectful club managers, cutthroat dancers, and a never-ending supply of sleazeballs. Don't even mention the long hours in six-inch stilettos. Yet beneath the stigma of this enigmatic industry, Erika uncovered the secrets of success: Remove the safety net and embrace risk victory will be yours. Ask for the dance, and an influx of new business will follow. Say yes to yourself, and you'll inspire those around you to help your business grow. Whether your goal is to build your business, increase your sales, or carry out your Red Carpet Dreams, "Think Like a Stripper" delivers the lessons you need to thrive as an entrepreneur, and the advice you'd never (ever, ever) learn in business school.

Erika's book, "Think Like a Stripper" is a breath of fresh air in world of stodgy business books. Right from the introduction I was sucked into Erika's story and immediately identified with her perspective of living two lives/stories: one, a sassy, headstrong, confident woman in the stripping world, and two, someone who thought she could survive the dueling narratives of her life.

I was willing to look past the provocative title and get to the meaty business advice hidden within, but if you are immediately judgmental about strippers past and present, this book probably isn't for you. That being said, if you are willing, this book has a metric ton of great advice for following business rules, breaking those rules when warranted, keeping brand integrity intact, and learning the concept of revamping your brand so that you and your business NEVER become stale.

There are 68 Stripper Tips in this slim volume, but really, it all boils down to Stripper Tip #1: Always Have a Red Carpet Dream.

I really enjoyed this book! Fun to read AND delivers great business advice, especially for those of us who are shy about asking for the sale.

Here's my Amazon review:
In Think Like a Stripper, Erika Lyremark tells it exactly like it is, no holds barred, but she does it with humor and style while managing to be both vulnerable and strong at the same time.

If you an entrepreneur and are stuck in your business, finding yourself not getting the clients or the money you need to sustain, you'll get a lot out of this book. Erika will help you change your mindset, step into your alter-ego (if that's what you need), ask for the sale, develop business allies, get the help you need, find your inner motivator, take charge of your business, and hustle like you mean it! (And much, much more.)

One of my favorite things about the book is that she shows you how to take just about any situation and make a business lesson from it. So not only are you getting Erika's lessons, but you're also training your brain to see the lessons in your own life. To use an old metaphor, she not just giving you fish, she's teaching you to fish as well.

Don't let the size of the book fool you. At just 135 pages, this book is easy to get through in one or two sittings, AND has so much juicy goodness to implement!

If what's missing in your business is confidence to sell yourself with integrity, I highly recommend you read (and use!) this book.

I follow her marketing tiktok and loved the angle she'd taken. It reads like most marketing books, but I appreciate a good hustle when I see one! 😉

I love how Erika gives easy to process examples that can be applied to any business. This book was not like some of the complex, showy business books that impossible and boring to read. I read this quickly and walked away with a lot of ideas. Even though I was aware of what some of the phrases were, I wish the glossary at the end had been in the front. It was fun but might have been a good way for those "new to Erika" to start. Definite suggestion for business owners.

I have to say I enjoyed this one. Truth to be told, you won't really LEARN much about business from it, but it might lift your spirits and make you giggle every now and then. I wouldn't even consider it as a business book but more as one of those books that are a quick read and they make you feel good afterwards and inspire you to take control over a thing or two.
Comparing your life situations with something exotic as stripping just makes it a bit more fun.

Erika's book is funny and smart. It is a collection of her stories from stripping (yes!) and the resulting business lessons. So inspiring, I read it in one day (and came up with a whole new offering!)
