Short stories depicting individuals trying to live with and without their dysfunctional families, clinging to whatever stability they can find. I read this book last year and I wanted to say this book was an absolute wonder to read. the imagery is amazing and the emotions captivated me. I cant wait to read her other work
Most of the stories are about personal emotional tragedies and as I was in the midst of a crumbling marriage at the time I read it, it was difficult to read. But real. Painfully real.
I was delighted to find afterwards that Panning received an MFA from my alma mater.
