Most of the stories are about personal emotional tragedies and as I was in the midst of a crumbling marriage at the time I read it, it was difficult to read. But real. Painfully real.

I was delighted to find afterwards that Panning received an MFA from my alma mater .

They're great short stories overall, especially if you're from Minnesota, but the stories together in this collection lack cohesiveness.
