The Finder

Rate this book
Jack Breeder has only one talent, a knack for finding things, even when someone doesn't want them to be found.

After years of Jack ruining one perfectly conceived plot after the next, a dark underground syndicate believes it’s time he made a career change.

When a mysterious job, too good to resist, turns from a simple retrieval to a high stakes game of lost and found, Jack finds himself racing against the clock to save those he loves.

With a supporting cast of humorous sidekicks, the one-liners fly as fast as the bullets whizzing by their heads. The Finder tells the tale of what one man will do to save his way of life.

Enjoyed the authors sense of humor. It reads like the script of a 1940's screeplay...fun and funny, good plot and characters. Would reread when I need a laugh. Some cussing, no graphic sexuality - altogether a pleasant romp!

Disclaimer: I am acquaintances with the author; however, I purchased this ebook for full price.

I was intrigued by this book's concept, but the main character and the world never grabbed me. The writing is solid, and I would absolutely check out future projects by the author.

This book is very fast-paced, full of action, with an old-fashioned detective-like hero and double crosses at every turn. If you like a fast-paced story, this one is for you. I would have preferred a little more plot and character development, and it definitely needs some proofreading/polishing. But overall, based on the story for it's own merit, I enjoyed it and the action sequences were realistic enough. I think this story would be good acted out, maybe the first episode in The Finder as a TV series.

Is it wrong that I enjoyed this book? As I look down the ratings on Goodreads, I see some rather low rankings. I enjoyed it though. It is a fast read for sure, but it was just what I was looking for at the time. Something with some action and some fun characters. Sure some of the characters bordered on the caricature, but that was part of the fun. It wasn't the most amazing thing I've ever read, but I thought it was fun and I'd recommend it to anyone who was looking for a good time, as it were.

Fantastic Action, Great read.

The book felt like a classic noir worked into a perfect popcorn action flick. The Finder bring together a ragtag group fighting against a city gone lower than low. Rome's freshman offering makes me excited for where his novel writing progresses to next!
