With the Amazon Bestseller Shark Bait, the first novel in the Grab Your Pole series, debut author Jenn Cooksey delivered a fun, snarky, and realistic beginning to a larger story that has found its way into the hearts of readers everywhere. Thus, many were unprepared for what was coming in the second installment of the GYP series, The Other Fish in the Sea, when Cooksey too ...more

Duh. I wrote it, but even that being the case, this is probably my all-time favorite book in the Grab Your Pole series. Maybe even out of all the books in the world. Yeah, it might be narcissistic of me, but I heart it THAT hard.

This series is a serious guilty pleasure of mine. After reading GYP #2 I was shocked. Stunned. Cliffhangers are not my friend. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait too long to find out what went down. All your questions are answered. I can’t really go into too much detail in this review without spoiling a bunch of the story line, so this will be the most random of reviews... just saying.

#1 BEST thing about ‘Shark Out of Water’... It was told 100% from the male p.o.v. Yep- we get insi

After the jaw-dropping, anger-inducing and shocking ending of The Other Fish in the Sea, I was hankering to get my hands on Shark Out of Water.  Seriously, I was willing to do just about anything.  I was not above begging Jenn, Autumn, Andrea, and anyone else who had already read the book to get me out of my misery.  Thankfully, we only had to wait a few months, albeit a LONG 3 months to find out what the hell happened.  It will all be worth.  What can you expect in this installment?  Well, some
If you are already a fan of the Grab Your Pole series, you, like so many of us, have been secretly plotting ways to torture Jenn Cooksey for that cruel, yet epic cliff hanger she delivered to us at the end of The Other Fish in the Sea. I am happy to say, you can stop your evil genius planning now because Shark Out of Water is finally here.

I can't, however, say that all the hair you grew back (after pulling it out last round) will still be there by the time you are done with this read. Why? Becau

I gave this book 3 stars ~sigh~ I kept thinking I was going to give it 2 until the end, though, so this is improvement, right?

Can someone answer me how can I give the first and the second book of a series 5 stars and then give the third one 3 *almost 2* stars? Well, I am surprised myself.

(Here is a disappointed gif that my internet doesn't let me post)

Here is the thing: I hated Camie in this one. She annoyed the hell out of me. Her actions, mostly. I am going to give an example. If you heard th

I’ve put bits and pieces of the book that I thought were hysterical, so I apologize for the choppy review.

Tristan: What the hell is THIS?!
Tristan’s Mom: It appears to be a wrapper belonging to a portion of the new bedding I bought you.
Tristan: Clearly. Specifically, it’s the wrapper to a new pillow. Did the old one do or say something to offend you because I can’t imagine any other circumstance where you’d deem it necessary to kick it and the rest of its happy pillow family out of the house with

Yes, definitely, Shark Out of Water , is a fun-filled book. No doubt it is. Still, I'm bothered by how boring it became. I literally had to force myself to keep reading at some chapters. I don't know, it just seemed unappealing to me anymore. I honestly have no clue why I lost interest...

BUT, at some points, I quite enjoyed the stuff going on. Camie and Tristan's love story just bugs me... seriously. I mean, every single chapter I just beg them to JUST GET TOGETHER
The best in the Grab Your Pole series. It's intense and full of drama but its the real friendships and the love the couples share that make this series and this installment one of my favorites.

Being young is all about making mistakes, forgiving yourself as well as the people you love. It's about forming friendships that will last forever and being there for your friends even when they push you away. Tristan and Jeff's friendship is put to the test in this installment but ultimately they both co

Good book from the boys perspective.
I love them all.
Had a little trouble with Mia. Come on, which 16-year old girl is so comfortable and experienced to train a guy to become som kind of sexgod?
For me this was not realistic.
But I still enjoyed the scenes with Mia.
And I really whished Camie could react differently sometimes.

This is the review I put on know I could gush for days with my love for Jenn Cooksey and all things Grab Your Pole...I mean, I don't ONLY read smut...seriously, though...this series is perfection.

Look, I don't even really have the words to eloquently describe my love for this book...this whole SERIES.

It just keeps getting better and better and I fall more in love with the characters.

Characters that I already know and love, who I would never suspect of sneakily making me fall RE

THERE. ARE. NO. WORDS!!!!!!! Ok, maybe there are a few. By far my favorite of the series thus far. The genius that is Jenn Cooksey has truly out done herself this time.
Shark Out of Water has everything a great book should: intricate plot, plenty of angst, comedy, and lessons about love.
She picks us up from where she dropped us flat on our faces at the end of The Other Fish in the Sea and plunges us straight into the deep end. And I love her for it.
I tend to be able to see where a story is going

This is part three of a complete series review, broken up in order to rate each book.

Lea Says: I rarely buy a book as soon as it comes out and read it that same day, but I had been waiting weeks for this and given the way The Other Fish in the Sea ended, I ended up practically reading it in one sitting! We aren't going to give away too much in this review, though, because it's best you take the journey along with the characters!

We spend Shark Out of Water entirely in the boys' minds. It is one

The Grab Your Pole series is the end all be all for books set in high school. Jenn Cooksey may have sold her soul for the ability to write such a lovable cast of characters. Between the amazing characters, frequent pop culture references and witty one-liners it was hard to keep up with all the greatness happening on every page.

Shark Out of Water is the third in the series and was honestly the most hard to read. I had grown so attached to each and every character and relationship so it almost hit

This one was tough to rate. There were parts of it that were definitely 5 stars. There were also parts that were 4. This is one of the rare ones that I really wish there were half stars. I enjoyed it, but I don't know why I thought this would be more centered on a different character than it was. It still had the humor of the first two books, and it dealt with some pretty serious issues at the same time. I just found myself drifting after awhile. I'll definitely be reading more in the series, lo ...more

I rated the first two books in this series 4 stars. The reason this one only had 3 is because I did not like the way most of the characters acted. I didn't like how Tristian was handling the situation with Camie, I didn't like the way Jeff was treating Tristian, I disliked the way Jillian treated Camie, and I didn't like how Jillian was keeping her romantic relationship a secret. Otherwise the book was good. I liked the resolution and how everything was resolved at the end. ...more

Oh My Lord. I had been waiting for this one for what seems like forever! After that cruel, just plain old, cruel ending Jenn left us with, I simply didn't know what to do with myself. I wanted to read Shark Out of Water but I was also scared of what I'd find. Jenn you really need to stop putting my heart through all that emotional turmoil- I just can't take it.

Now that being said, Shark Out of Water, like every other book in the Grab Your Poles series, was phenomenal. P.H.E.N.O.M.E.N.A.L.

I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would.

Just like the previous books I found myself interested not just in what happened with Tristan and Camie (though, admittedly, they were my number one priority) but truly wondering about the other characters as well. And, just like the two previous books, I couldn't help but laugh throughout the story because there was some seriously funny shit in there.

The way in which Phineas and Ferb were truly treated as Camie and Tristan's "children" bor

I can't tell you how much I love this series. It is one of my favorites, and Jenn Cooksey has just outdone herself in the latest installment, Shark out of Water. I fell in love with Tristan, Camie, and the GYP gang in Shark Bait, which was told from Camie's point of view. In Fish out of Water, the story is told from alternating POV's from the girls. We also got to know the whole gang even better, but Jenn killed us (in a good way as I look at it in hindsight) with the ending. Needless to say all ...more

Ah, Tristan and Camie…I knew starting out that this was not going to be an easy journey for this beloved couple, but holy mackerel it was even harder on the heart than I expected! After a crushing break-up that left both Tristan and Camie reeling (and the fishing puns just keep coming…), the entire gang was feeling the effects of the aftermath. And (gasp!) they were taking sides. Yes, Shark Out of Water finds our favorite gang of rasc

This review will contain spoilers for The Other Fish in the Sea.

If you’ve read my blog, you’ll know that I am obsessed with Jenn Cooksey’s Grab Your Pole series, and after the ending of The Other Fish in the Sea, I was salivating to get my hands on book 3, so I picked it up the day it was released and immediately ignored, er, preoccupied, my children so I could start it!

Just so you know, I am struggling with deciding how to write this review. I really don’t want to spoil anything, but that’s ver
