The manual reflects what we've learned through many years of responding to resuces and teaching hundreds of students. Now in its third edition, the manual has been updated and several new chapters have been added. The extensive use of illustrations and step-by-step procedures help the reader develop or expand rope rescue knowledge and skills. Topics include: safety, equipment, rappelling, pick-offs, stretcher evacuations, patient packaging, improvised high-anchor points, and organizing the response. More than 240 illustrations and photos take you step-by-step through lowering and raising systems, mechanical advantage, and rappel based rescues.

Quite interesting. Kinda makes me want to volunteer on a rescue team. Play with all those toys. Handy to have some working knowledge of rescue strategies to (hopefully never) apply to canyoneering and such. Talk about anchors and redundancy and pull systems has a lot of other applications.
