I have to admit. I didn't even give it my minimum 50 pages. I just knew right from the start that I didn't wan't to know the story. I know I made some assumptions that could have been wrong, but I really didn't like the writer's style. It seemed that I was back in the sixth grade reading a book for a book report.

Until her sister’s marriage less than one year before, Catherine Evans never expected to have a London season. But just when he realizes his feelings for her go much deeper, duty forces him to court another.

Beguiling the Earl is the second book in the Landing a Lord series , being I had not read the fist I was concerned I may find myself a bit lost but the author does a good job of providing character backround to bring you up to date and keep the story flowing, so reading this is as standalone is not an issue.

I loved the 2nd book in Landing a Lord series. This is the Earl of Kerrick and Catherine Evans the sister in law of the Marquess of Overlea story.. We meet the 17 year old Catherine and the 28 year old Kerrick in book 1 of the series. Kerrick has an immediate attraction to the young Catherine, and he tries to only have sisterly feelings toward her. Overlea is one of his best friends and he is fond of Louisa Overlea's wife and Catherine's sister.

Somebody recommended this author to be so I was very happy when I got a copy from NetGalley. Unfortunately, this book was quite disappointing. Let's start the writing. I don't know much about it, but I do know that it's a matter of showing instead of telling. Unfortunately, Medeiros did a lot of telling and forgot about the showing. This meant that the characters didn't have any depth whatsoever. I never got a feel for the pe

An overall sweet read, Beguiling the Earl was a good romance. It wasn't particularly amazing, but it was a nice book that I enjoyed.

Catherine was a great heroine. She was level-headed and made sure know all the facts before judging. She was very likable and a wonderful character.

Kerrick was good. He was sweet and a true gentlemen at heart. He wasn't the most memorable hero, but he was likable.

The romance was good. Catherine and Kerrick already has feelings for each other and they simply has to
It was BOOORIIING and irritating. I struggled to finish it but skimmed it over after Chapter 10.

It was apparent that the Earl of Kerrick's taste on women was very, very low. Catherine Evans was a selfish, annoying brat! The earl must have pedophilic tendencies to fall in love with a woman-child like Catherine.

I am so disappointed with this novel. It was such a pity because I enjoyed the first book, Loving the Marquess (Nicholas and Louisa's love story). I really hope that the next book will be b

I struggled to finish the book. It did not live up to the first book. The storyline was child like. Don't waste your money.

Louisa's sister, Catherine, and Nicholas' friend, Kerrick, get their happily ever after. Medeiros infuses her characters with personality and depth, which is revealed through their thoughts and feelings. I like that she clearly gives them complex thoughts and feelings without assuming the reader's knowledge and familiarity with all the characters. Not any easy thing to accomplish without getting verbose. I enjoyed reading this romance and look forward to Rose and Brantford's story in the next bo ...more

Part of the Landing a Lord series, it can be read as a standalone. I found this book enchanting and enjoyable. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and the ones before it too. Beguiling the Earl is delicious and wonderful. Secrets that can tear a country apart are being sold to the enemy, and it’s up to Kerrick to find a traitor, but when his heart lies with another, how much is he willing to give up for the country he has sworn to protect?

Too many unanswered questions and dangling plot lines for a book that has been out for over 2 years with no release date for the sequel!

I read the first book in this series, Loving the Marquess, and really enjoyed it. I was pleased to receive a copy of Beguiling the Earl from the author. Kerrick was a great hero. He was honorable and in a hard place due to a debt he owes to a fellow spy. Just when he was ready to court Catherine in earnest, he has to pretend to court another woman.

Catherine wasn't all that pleased with the arrangement, either! Especially since she really likes Rose, who is her competition to everyone looking in

Suzanna Medieros continues her Landing A Lord Series with a wonderful second book. Using an intricate balance of devilish desire and misinformation she leads us on a tempestuous dance, where we cheer for the hero, worry with the heroine and actually like the woman who comes between them.

Catherine Evans may be young but she is no silly miss. She is part of the ton but has lived in gentile poverty most of her life. Beautiful in a qu

This is book 2 in the Landing a Lord series.

Catherine Evan has been in love with the Earl of Kerrick since they met. Unfortunately, she has had to wait to have her coming out to pursue him. As the season starts, Catherine eagerly awaits having her first dance with Kerrick. She soon learns that Kerrick's mother has plans for Kerrick to marry the daughter of her best friend, but that doesn't stop them from forming an attachment as he has no plans to marry the other woman.

I enjoyed this book very much. Catherine and Kerrick are two very likeable main characters and there are no silly misunderstandings that get in their way. Catherine is interested in her brother-in-law's best friend Kerrick and has been for months. Kerrick promises to dance with her during her season and she is anxiously waiting for him to arrive in town for their dance. Kerrick is not ready to marry, and knows that his best friend will call him out if he gets too close to Catherine without honor ...more

This is the third book in The Landing a Lord series, I have read all three and loved them all. Suzanna writes a beautiful love story with passion, intrigue and compelling characters. Catherine and Kerrick are made for each other but they have to keep their feelings for each other a secret because of his work for the government. He is trying to uncover a traitor to the crown and to do that he has to pretend to court the daughter of the man he is investigating. The young woman he is pretending to ...more

While I could not put the previous book (Loving the Marquess) in the series down, I'm afraid this one did not engage my attention when I did not dislike it alltogether. Maybe it's just me, I admit to finding eighteen years old debutantes throwing themselves and their virginity in the bed of an 11 years older man barely 25% into the story annoying, let alone the seemingly abundant expertise they acquire in the course of a night and a carriage ride. Furthermore the tension over the deception that ...more

Catherine Evans has been besotted with the Earl of Kerrick, her brother-in-law's best friend, since she first met him. She had hoped for the feeling to be returned during her coming out season. She certainly didn't expect him to become engaged to one Rose Hardwick, but then, to be fair, neither did Kerrick.
Kerrick's interest in Lord and Lady Thornton's daughter, Rose Hardwick, was instigated by forces at a higher command.

This was a really sweet read, and I feel that most romance lovers will enjoy this. The plot was an all round enjoyable and the flow of the story was pretty good. It’s a wonderful historical romance.

I really liked the strong female lead, Catherine, knowing what she wanted and just went for it. It’s not something that’s seen in those times. And Kerrick was sweet and true gentlemen but there wasn’t anything outstanding that you would remember him by. I

Another great journey!!!

I was provided this copy through Net Galley for an honest opinion.

I LOVE Suzanna Madeiros historical romances. I have read her other books in the Landing a Lord series and thoroughly enjoyed them, and was looking forward to this one.

Kerrick and Catherine's journey! *sigh*

Her journey in this historical romance had all that I am looking for in these period pieces. The all-consuming passion that you can't help getting caught up in. There was also a side story, a situation

Our leading lady Miss Catherine harbors some serious feelings for Kerrick, "her dismay turned to outright disbelief as she watched Kerrick bow over the young woman's hand and lead her out onto the ballroom floor." Kerrick obviously needs to explain himself on some situations, "I do not see you as a child. And God only knows, I wouldn't describe my feelings for you as fatherly." The notion was the furthest thing from the truth." Catherine is a little temptress when it comes to her man, "she licke ...more
