An orphaned, small-town, southern girl, held hostage by responsibility and self-doubt.

A Hollywood A-list mega-star, on the run from his latest scandal and with everything to lose.

A chance encounter that leads to an unlikely arrangement and epic love affair that will change them both forever.

When his co-star and real-life girlfriend is caught cheating on him with her new director, A-list hottie, Jack Eversea, finds himself in sleepy Butler Cove, South Carolina. Jack hopes the sultry southern heat in this tiny coastal Lowcountry town will hide him not only from the tabloids and his cheating girlfriend, but his increasingly vapid life and the people who run it. He doesn’t count on meeting Keri Ann Butler.

Keri Ann has relied on herself so long, dealing with her family’s death and the responsibilities of keeping up her family's historic mansion, that boys and certainly the meager offering of eligible boys in Butler Cove, have never figured into her equation. But fate has other plans. Eversea has a very interesting synopsis and a beautiful cover which are the main reasons why I've been wanting to read it. There was actually so much to love about this book. First is the writing of the author which is undeniably great. Another is Jack Eversea, the hero of this book, who is not only Movie-Star hotness incarnate but a very interesting character.

However, after reading this book, I felt conflicted. I believe it has something to do with the absence of chemistry between the main characters Jack and Keri Ann. Keri Ann's character also annoyed me at the first parts of the book. She was rude to Jack the moment she recognized who he was (Jack didn't even do something to make her act that way, which is kind of ironic). I was glad, though, because she eventually changed in the succeeding chapters.

I think what I also struggled with in this book was the slow-pacing. There were times when the scenes were no longer holding my attention. Also, there was predictability and at some point I already know how the story will end.

Nevertheless, there were parts that made me swoon thanks to Jack. I really love his character and how genuine and perfect he was in this book. He's one of the heroes that deserve to be added in your book-boyfriends list. :) Despite my issues, I still recommend you to check this book!

Total escapism! A fun romance between a Hollywood A-list movie star and a feisty small-town girl.

In her small town of nine thousand people, the last person Keri Ann ever expected to meet was Jack Eversea. THE Jack Eversea. But there he was, in person, the world most famous Hollywood mega-star actor sitting in her bar.

Turns out he was escaping his life, so to speak. Between the drama of a bad public break up and the non-stop spotlight on his life, he just needed a break. An escape.

"Suddenly, my heart started going a mile a minute and I was breathing hard. Jack Eversea was in my house! I willed myself to calm down and catch my breath. He was just a person. A human being. Right? I bent down for a moment and stuck my head between my knees, hoping my blood would circulate normally again."

I loved that despite the fact that Keri Ann was actually a big fan of his movies, she was able to separate them from him as a person and realize that underneath the whole Hollywood persona was really just this sweet, charming (and maybe even a little lonely) guy.

They hit it off and despite wanting to keep his presence in the town a secret, he trusted her and proposed a trade -- he'd help her fix up her house if she'd agree to do things like getting him groceries and supplies (which he couldn't do without being recognized)… and so began their flirtation-filled friendship.

Meanwhile though, quite literally the whole world was wondering where on earth their top favorite movie star had gone!

But things weren't that simple. Jack was literally bound by contract to be in a relationship with a high profile movie actress (who he had actually dated in the past).. this was a signed deal, set in stone, no way out. Needless to say, that put more than a little hitch in any potential relationship between him and Keri Ann. There were so many questions that popped up -- I mean, it was wonderful that he was in her town now, but he couldn't stay forever so… what would happen when he went back? Would he get back together with his ex? Would he have to leave soon? Could the spark between them realistically go anywhere?

I think there's just something thrilling about the idea of a romance with a Hollywood star. But despite that there was a definite undertone of angst because throughout the whole book, you just KNEW that at the end of it, he would have to return to Hollywood and would have to go back to at least pretending to be with another woman.

"What do you want me to say? I'm sorry I'm so fucked up I sold my life, my soul and my future to the devil?"
His hand left mine, and he pressed it palm down in the centre of my chest.
"If I'd know you were in my future, I would have chosen differently."

Despite this having some more serious elements to it (including Jack's backstory), there were still some really cute funny moments scattered throughout that kept me smiling for a lot of the book.

"Jack tensed, and puling away from me, turned to the edge of the pool. After several moments of mumbling something that sounded suspiciously like "dead puppies, dead puppies, dead puppies", he lifted himself out."

I have to say I really loved that Kerri Ann was mostly very up front about her feelings and I really felt for her. I mean, how would YOU feel if the person you were crushing on slash falling for "had" to be in a public relationship with someone else?

But I liked that even though she was a small town girl and he was a big shot movie star, they really went toe-to-toe on everything.

"Did anyone ever tell you how arrogant you are?"
"Not arrogant. Confident. There's a difference."

I enjoyed watching them fall for each other despite their situation. The progression of drama felt very natural - nothing that made me ill with worry but at the same time, I did really want everything to get sorted out.

"Do you think it's normal for people to feel like this," he motioned between us, "whatever this is that happens when we are in the same room with each other? Maybe you have no idea, but I do. It. Doesn't. Happen. At least not to me."

The ending was a cliffhanger. Buuuuut, I knew that going into the book. At least it was more of a "positive" cliffhanger though - the kind where you're left with the knowledge like it's all going to work out in the end as opposed to one where everything is blown to hell but still… I need book #2. Like now. Right now. Dammit.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. It was true escapism. It was light and engaging with a dash of angst and a smattering of serious. I liked the characters and the story. It didn't pull any huge range of emotions from me but I'm really glad I read it and I'm definitely looking forward to the next one, FOREVER JACK, which will be out in November 2013 :)

Note: For some reason I need to clarify that I got this book from Amazon with my own money.

_____________________________________

First, I must mention that what drove me to read this book was the beauty of the cover. Second, I thought the book was going to be in the same line of The Love Unscripted series, but I was wrong. It’s obvious that the inspiration for this story is somehow a Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson situation, nothing wrong with that, but kind of unoriginal. The main characters were too unlikable for my taste. Both main characters are undeveloped; Keri Ann was kind of a doormat and too immature for the age she portrays. On the other side, I felt I never really got to know the real Jack Eversea. Yeah I get he is handsome and a superstar, but there’s nothing deep about him as a character. The lack of spark and the real development in the story was a really turn off for me. We have this superstar who apparently has an attraction for this woman because she really sees him as a person, not a star, but the cannon proved this point wrong. Keri Ann was like a 13 year old girl whose star stuck, some of the interactions are really pathetic to be honest.

Example/ Eversea / Kindle: %40

“Look at you. I was already half in love with you before I even met you because of the character you played ...”

Continuing with the lack of development in their relationship; when do they fall in love? What is so special about her? Sorry, but I didn’t get it at all. There’s zero development in their relationship, one day he is avoiding her and then in a few days he is sleeping with her and professing his love. The conflict was absurd and it doesn’t make sense to me at all. His ex-girlfriend is pregnant, an ex-girlfriend who apparently cheated on him and he didn’t even ask for proof that this kid is his. Apparently Jack Eversea is good as an actor, but he is not a thinker. Eversea has an undeveloped Story-ARC with undeveloped characters and ridiculous conflicts that have the vibe of a crazy bad soap-opera.

Warning: this story contains every cliche known to the romance genre, and it was AWESOME!

Despite all the cheesiness, (he's rich and famous, she's a poor waitress; he's beautiful, and so is she, but she doesn't know it; he's a jaded, semi-reformed manwhore, she's an innocent virgin), I loved every single word of it! The writing style was wonderful, full of subtle humor and real emotion that had me laughing and crying in turn. And I absolutely loved Keri Ann, who was quirky, sweet, and completely entertaining. I connected with her immediately, and I thought her reactions to Jack and his celebrity status were entirely realistic and heartfelt. Plus, any author that can use the words "deploy the swoonbomb" in a sentence has all my respect. So, so good.

Despite all of the glowing reviews on this book, I found this book OK. Typical NA romance story eith virgin heroine and movie star hero.

The meet cute moment. Then the insta lust and finally the heroine gives herself to the hero. The chemistry is off. I can not feel the connection between Kari Ann and Jack. The wording can be edited much better so their banter does not sound so stiff and cold.

Overall, just OK. Not going into the second book.

3.5 – 4 Famous Jack Stars

Small town girl meets famous mega star guy.

Summary

Jack is a movie star and is known worldwide. He’s dealing with a bumpy hiccup and the best thing for him is to hide out until it blows over. He decides to go to a little town.

Keri Ann lives in this little town. She’s your typical gal, a waitress, saving money to renovate her house. She knows who Jack is and although she doesn’t really think anything of him, it becomes a shock to Keri Ann when she sees him ordering food at her restaurant.

My feelings…

I love a Hollywood/ famous actor theme book and overall I liked the “idea” of Eversea, I just wished it was more movie star oriented than small town girl meeting rich guy because it felt like that to me.

When Jack and Keri Ann first meet, it’s super cute! He comes into the restaurant in a hoodie and is kind of rude and very standoffish. Keri Ann is a total sweetheart and I do feel for her. Who doesn’t like a small town girl? I want to live in a small town, so I’m slightly jealous.

I don’t know if I was happy that she knew who Jack was, but it’s kind of unrealistic that she wouldn’t know who he was since he’s so famous. I like how Jack and Keri Ann first start off a friendship-sort-of. Jack can’t go out in public, so he hires Keri Ann to buy groceries for him. Soon they forge a friendship and both start to open up.

I had a problem with Jack’s past. The fact he is kind of in a relationship with another movie star, Audrey made me cringe a little. It’s not really cheating because the relationship is fake, but it’s still a relationship regardless. You will just have to read it and take it for what it is.

It was also hard to read the up and down roller coaster of emotions between the two of them. Jack would be sweet, then be a jerk and would yank Keri Ann around (at least in my opinion). I just felt like he could have been just a complete jerk or not. I didn’t like the back and forth too much.

The ending picks up a bit and you are hit with drama. I liked it a lot. I felt like the middle pace a bit slow so I was expecting something major and I got it. I was blown away by the ending and I’m excited for the next book!

How do to rate a story which you were thoroughly enjoying till the last twenty-five percent?

This was a light and enjoyable read where the main character Keri Ann (waitress) meets a runaway Hollywood megastar, Jack Eversea one night at her place of work. (Similar to Love Unscripted)

Keri Ann was a wonderful character, the setting (Butler Cover Island) and her responsibility to restore and take care of her inherited family home was unique. I loved all the minor characters as well.

Jack and Keri Ann’s relationship was well paced, pretty darn HOT and this reader was just LOVING the pace and the story.

"If I couldn't handle these almost moments, then I decided I should just turn them into moments. If I was going down, I might as well go down hard."

When Jack’s Hollywood girlfriend finds out where Jack has ran off to she drops a PREDICTABLE bomb on him causing Keri Ann and Jack to stop their new relationship which was going so damn well up to this point.

description

Following the predictable pattern Jack finds out that Audrey’s reveal was in fact bogus and as a reader of books would guess he….

Overall, a light, sexy, witty read that I was enjoying till the author let me down with her lack of imagination in breaking our couple apart.

Here's hoping the sequel doesn't disappoint because I'm pretty sweet on Jack and Keri Ann.

Loved this book. Full review is coming soon :)

With that ending there had better be a sequel!

Full Review

I really enjoyed this book. It is a fun read but it also has lots of depth and emotion. You will get lost in the characters and their stories. This book is escapism at its very best. It is a beautiful coming of age story with lots of lovely romance mixed in.

The synopsis may make Eversea seem somewhat clichéd, but there is so much more to this book than it just being a movie star romance. It is a coming of age tale about two people realising that what the people around them want them to do and what they want to do may be two different things. Without realising it Keri Ann has settled into a life that doesn’t make her happy and Jack is discovering the downside of true fame. Together they help each other realise who they really are and what they truly want.

I love books set in the south (I think it is the sexy accent) and this one captures the southern feel perfectly. The authors’ writing is very visual and you feel as if you have been transported to Butler Cove. You can almost see the characters and they feel so real.

Keri-Ann is a great character, she always puts other people first and she is kind and caring. I would love to know her in real life. Jack is a character you will wish was real. He is so swoon worthy; sexy and powerful but he also has an innocence that makes you want to look after him. The romance builds slowly. Jack and Keri-Ann have an instant attraction that becomes something deeper. I felt that the romance is really believable and it is the perfect mixture of sweet and steamy.

I recommend this to fans of NA books and any type of romance. The ending makes it pretty obvious there is a sequel. It isn’t really a cliff hanger but it certainly isn’t a happy ever after. I can’t wait for book 2.

It was impossible while reading Beach Wedding not to go back and reread the first book. I wanted to relive Jack and Keri Ann's story because Natasha Boyd is that kind of author. You can't just let go of her characters, they stick with you and you want to experience their feelings over and over. I also bumped up my rating to 5 stars because this series is pretty awesome.

Seriously? I know people liked this book. But I did not. The heroine was annoying as shit. TSTL Immature. A blabber mouth. And I was sick to death of being in her head.

Jack was also a weak, wishy washy loser. Dude, grow a pair!

Book is a cliffy

Books like Eversea are the reason readers like me can cozy up to the genre that is romance. Over the past I have tried to read quite few books under this theme, only to lose interest in the story within the introductory phase of the story itself. But being stubborn as ever, I still haven't given up on romantic fiction as I try to read books in this genre.

If you ask what's different in this book when compared to the rest, I do not have the answer as I haven't read enough material on this genre to form an opinion. But Eversea fits right within my taste limits (if that's a thing!).

Verdict: Must read if you are not a fan of the usual romantic novels yet still want to give the genre a try.

Cliffhanger! NO! Natasha Boyd...I have to have the next one...like NOW!!! OMG I can't freaking wait until NOVEMBER! What happens to JACK? How does it end?

I fell in love with this book.
Natasha Boyd is an author on the rise and I can not wait to see what else she has in store for us.

Jack is a young Hollywood star who has recently underwent a significant break up with his on screen and off screen romance. He is looking for some space and some privacy and asks a friend to hide out in their small coastal town cottage. Jack is looking to lick his wounds and get his life back on track without being discovered by the paparazzi.

Kari Ann is a small town girl whose family owns a historic home. She was orphaned and she and her older brother have been taking care of one another since. He is off at college getting his education. Since they can't both afford school at the same time, Kari Ann stays back to take care of the house and work. One night a rude customer comes in and changes everything.

Kari Ann finds herself face to face with the most beautiful man she has ever met. She knows that she would never be good enough for Jack freaking Eversea! She has several "OMG fangirl" moments but soon discovers that he is just a regular guy looking to stay under the radar. She can't help but feel herself being drawn in by his charm and amazing good looks.

“He was like a bright and beautiful rogue planet. He pulled the entire galaxy into a gravitational wobble until he got close enough to suck you in and tilt your axis head over heels.” -Keri Ann

Jack may have left Hollywood behind for the time being, but he can't stay gone forever. He has obligations, contracts, appearances that he must go back to.

Jack agrees to help Kari Ann with her home restoration. In exchange, she will help him go unnoticed. Jack is not as simple as he seems, he has a dark and troubled past. Kari Ann does everything in her power to resist Jack but in the end it's useless. He had her heart all along.

Jack's past comes back to haunt him and he must decide what future he will choose. In the end, he may not really have much of a choice. This is where the cliffhanger comes in...

I hate cliffhangers, I hate them with all my heart. I couldn't help but love this book. This author is amazing. The characters were so real and the chemistry was amazing. Kari Ann is a smart girl who knows what she wants in life. She is strong and sure of herself, even if she is a bit unaware of her beauty. Jack is a tortured soul who made me ache for all he has endured.

FIVE HUGE AMAZING STARS! I love Eversea!

Read this...like right now, drop what you are doing and go read this book!

Being a Charleston girl I read this book with such pride. Totally devoured this read and loved every minute of it. Jack Eversea pierced my heart and left me longing for more. Love Keri Ann and her sass and true southern appeal. Natasha had everything from the Lowcountry down. This was more than a love story, but an experience. Can’t wait to dive into book 2!!! MICHELLE'S REVIEW OF EVERSEA
I received an ARC copy for an honest review.

OH EM GEE.

What the hell just happened to me?? Holy cliffhanger. I was not expecting that. I kept thinking- gee I only have a few pages left so I guess this will be one of those quick wrap up endings.

Damn you Natasha Boyd.

Ok I loved this book. Jack and Keri Ann were awesome. I loved that they fell for each other organically. I thought the chemistry was just amazing and the sexual tension-almost killed me. I loved that there was honesty- although not always right away. But most of all I loved that it developed. Yes- I was getting a wee bit sexually frustrated myself but it was worth it. So worth it. By the time it happened it was like Jack and I were together...

Sorry- I went somewhere for a minute. I loved the relationship Keri Ann had with the town and especially with her friends and her brother. I am interested to see how things develop with a certain brother's BFF named Colton cause I wouldn't mind a try at that myself.

Also I love drama. And this book had it and I loved it. So much drama. It sustains me.

I recommend this book but know this:
The sex is hot but you have to be patient and wait for it.
The drama is there but again- it brews slowly

Can't wait for book 2!

EXCERPT

My cold hands found Jack’s warm, smooth skin. He tensed under my touch, his eyes now slate grey in the darkened hall. Jack’s hand came up to my face, and his thumb brushed over my lips like when my tongue had accidentally found him. This time he pushed it against my lips, seeking entry. I hesitated a split second before sucking him into my mouth to taste the tang of his skin. Jack’s breathing hitched as he fed it to me, sliding it in and out against my tongue. His mouth grew taut, his nostrils flaring slightly, his gaze pinned on the action.

Watching his reactions, my own breath had grown shallow and irregular. My pulse was spiking, the heat inside of me swirling up between us like a fever. Slowly he pulled his thumb out and rubbed the wet pad across my lower lip pulling my lip down. The laughing was over. Every point of contact my body had with Jack’s was like a conduit for an ever-increasing maelstrom of feeling. The feel of his rough denim clad hips under my bare thigh, the press of his hardness against my apex, and the warm skin of his hand as it roamed up my thigh and waist to my neck, to my chest. His mouth. My heart. Jack tugged my scarf from its loosely wound place at my neck. In moments, his hand cupped my breast through my dress, his thumb running across my nipple. My breath came in ragged pants.

“Jack ...” I managed, my chest involuntarily thrusting forward into his hand.

His lips quirked. “What about this?” he whispered roughly and slipped his fingers under the low neckline of my dress, tugging it and my bra down. He feathered a light touch around my bare nipple in the cool air.

“Gah ...,” I mumbled.

He chuckled, and then his warm hand palmed my breast more fully and I moaned. Jack’s eyes flickered. Sliding down my body, he bent his legs and hooked my other leg around him. He stood up quickly, taking my weight, his hands on my bare thighs and pressed me firmly back against the wall. I gasped and grabbed onto his broad shoulders to steady myself. Jack’s face was intense as he lowered his mouth to mine. He stopped millimeters away—his breath softly fanning my lips.

“Are you sure?” he whispered.

I nodded. “Yes.”

He captured my mouth into a deep kiss and pressed himself hard against me.

5 Wonderful ★'s!!

From the blurb:

"An orphaned, small-town, southern girl, held hostage by responsibility and self-doubt.

A Hollywood A-list mega-star, on the run from his latest scandal and with everything to lose.

A chance encounter that leads to an unlikely arrangement and epic love affair that will change them both forever."

Hmm, doesn't it sound a bit cliché? That's what I thought. But sometimes, the girly-girl in me loves this Cinderella-ish kind of storyline and that's why I requested an ARC, even though I was prepared for some cheesiness and eye-rolling.

Well, don't judge a book by its cover. I mean the back cover! The front is gorgeous, even more so when you realize the significance. Eversea is a great example of a somewhat standard plot, executed brilliantly. I was expecting to like it, imagine my delight when I loved it!

The biggest plus of this book is its narrator, our heroine Keri Ann Butler. She is a breath of fresh air and very real. She's one of us. Her reactions upon finding one of the biggest Hollywood stars are how I'd imagine myself to act. I like that she isn't ignorant of who he is and doesn't act unaffected. I like how she gets all flustered and klutzy. That she drools over him while the rational part of her realizes that much of her desire (at first) is because he plays her favorite fictional character. I even like the fact that she blabbed to her best friend about his presence, even when sworn to secrecy, of course I'd do that!

Her reactions aside, I could connect with her on so many levels. She is strong. She has a lot of responsibilities but that isn't what's kept her stuck in Butler Cove, it's her own fear of the unknown. She loves to read. She may not have real-life experience with boys, but she finds plenty of romance in her books.

Jack Eversea is also a very real star. He's not perfect, he's rich and spoiled and arrogant. He doesn't give the oh-please! "I'm really an ordinary person with an ordinary life" line. He's unsettled and lost after his onscreen/ off-screen girlfriend is caught cheating on him. He has a 'tragic' past but it's not used to define or excuse who he is.

I love how the story unfolds, slowly, unsteadily. They start off trading favors, then becoming friends. There's a strong attraction between them but they know acting on it isn't wise. He has commitments, and whether he wants to or not, he cannot just give up his old life. She knows that he'll leave, that he has to go back to his girlfriend for contractual reasons and she'll be heartbroken when he does. There is some "What could he possibly see in me?" and "She's too good for me" dialogues, which are expected but thankfully not overdone.

Despite knowing it's wrong, will these two still take a chance? And if they do, what happens next?

The writing was excellent, I felt like I was right there in the sleepy South. The make-out scenes were sizzling and sensual... and frustrating! Haha, you have to be patient!

I hate to say this, but IT HAS A HORRIBLE CLIFFHANGER!! Grrr, I can't believe I have to wait until Fall to find out what happens next!! That said, I'm glad this story wasn't quickly wrapped up and I'm sure there's much more this couple have to face. I will definitely be reading the next instalment, and looking at the calendar impatiently meanwhile!

Eversea is the kind of book you read with a carton of ice cream , to escape for a while and daydream for hours afterwards. It's the kind of chick flick you'd watch and swoon over (and over) with your BFF's on Girls' Night.

Thank you so much to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. It was an utter delight!

I loved this book. I love my celebrity books so when I saw it was up for review, I jumped at the chance.

I loved Jack Eversea! His character was a perfect mixture of "arrogant celebrity" and "they're just normal people". I really felt for him because you can see how hard the whole thing is on him - he's actually hating himself for being a cliche celebrity.

Keri Ann was a great heroine, too - because while she was being fangirly about Jack Eversea (yes, I can't just say Jack) she saw how annoyingly fangirly she was actually being and she made fun of herself for that many times.
She was also a virginal heroine. Did not like this one bit. But okay.

Sadly, it was insta-love. I really thought the book would go a different way because all the signs were there, however - five days after they meet, they're in love, and they didn't even spend that much time together. Feelings are pretty intense, they have never felt like that before, etc, etc.
I wish the author was patient about it! It's only a matter of prolonging it a week or two and I would have believed it. This way...nuh.
But as usually, you just have to ignore these things in books.

Jack Eversea and Keri Ann had great chemistry and I loved every second they spent together. He teases her, she teases him, it's an all around great friendship that makes you go aaaaaaw.

The writing is great! I mean, really engaging, and funny. A few cliches here and there but overall very tight and I loved it. The side characters were awesome, I think Joey and Jazz were my favorite and I loved them.

I didn't like the conflict because that whole Audrey thing was just so unclear to me. What was the deal between her and Jack Eversea? I wasn't sure, he made it sound like one thing, then another, then back to the first. It kind of made me dislike him.

There is a graphic sex scene in this book :). It was well written, and wasn't overly graphic, and I thought it suited the story.

Okay, so, you know that feeling of DREAD when you're 95% into the story and it isn't coming to a close? I felt that with Eversea.
There is a big, fat cliffhanger in the end. The book doesn't end, it's more like an end of a chapter. I was violently hitting the next button hoping it doesn't work and is skipping something and that's why I can't read the next chapter. But that delusional thought fell apart when I saw acknowledgements.
So be prepared for another one of those books that leave you hanging. What kills me is that it's a damn good cliffhanger and now I want to know what happened! I'm scared by the time the next book is out (which I have no idea when), I won't care :(.

I actually didn't want to write a review straight after I finished the book because I was really, really pissed and I didn't want to snub the book because of that. I just can't ignore it, though - it doesn't say anywhere this is a series! Not in the beginning of the book, not here on Goodreads. I wish authors told you this so you didn't go in blind thinking you're reading a standalone.

Overall, I loved Eversea and recommend it. The characters are honest, the story was engaging, and I devoured it in a matter of hours. Now I wait. Patiently. Hopefully.

Goodreads does not have enough ★'s for this book. This book has instantly become a favorite for me. One of those books that I want to re-read and I do not re-read books, well, almost never. Wow! Full review to come, first, like Keri Ann, I am going to kayak and gather my thoughts. Just wow!

I am not the biggest fan of the celebrity romance books. I like them but I always feel so stressed out reading them. They are so often full of such trust issues that I have a hard time seeing the actual love story. This one was different. This one wasn’t a chance meeting with a celebrity and trying to make it work while battling the paparazzi and all the untruths printed. This was a chance meeting far from the lights of Hollywood. The meeting of two people who just want to be seen for who they are and find it within each other. I just fell in love with this story. The setting was amazing. I love the South and this book just painted such a beautiful picture to go along with a beautiful story. I loved, loved, loved Keri Ann. She is the perfect book heroine. She has the best personality and I just couldn’t get enough of her. She for real deserves a HEA. Now, what can I say about Jack Eversea? Oh my, I think I love him too. He was just so, yeah, he was just soooo…Loved him! He really just wants to be himself even though he can’t completely remember who exactly that is. He finds it with Keri Ann. Well, he finds it but then…the end of this book just wrecked me. I was screaming at Jack, my heart ached for Keri Ann and then, my heart completely broke for Jack. I will be the first in line to read the next book. These two need to be together. Loved it!

Okay, maybe my expectations were high because of all the love for this book, but I seriously struggled to finish it.  It was very YA to me even though the main characters were in their mid to late 20s.

Small town girl meets world famous actor who is hiding from the world, and it was that kind of insta-attraction that I'm not always fond of, but I guess it worked.

I think the best part of the book was the last 15% or so, and then I read the Prologue for the next book, and yep, that was enough for me.  Don't know if I'll ever go back and read the 2nd book, but I do have it.

I really liked this book ...really liked it. I am kicking myself however bc it's a cliffhanger and I see no date for book #2. That said, I will be anxiously awaiting the next book. Definitely worth the read.

I really liked this story because I am a total sucker for girl next door and the Hollywood legend type romances. Eversea didn't quite live up to Love Unscripted (a total favourite of mine) but it certainly kept me captivated and made me give up my whole Saturday which tells me something...

Yeah, Jack Eversea... I kinda love you.

Its a 4 due to the ending...well...its not an ending, it ended pretty much on a TBC and I was like, 'Nooooooooooo' because I needed some form of character reconnection and I didn't get it and won't bloody get it until book two! Gah!

okay... this isnt my review, this is my book residual hangover musings. ;)

Book Review: Eversea (Eversea, #1) – Natasha Boyd

Eversea is the start of a compelling and heart-warming journey of how a Lowcountry girl from South Carolina, captures the heart of an A-List Hollywood superstar, when he takes a three week hiatus away from the glitz and ‘fake’ glamour of LA. It’s a story of self-discovery, of taking a step back and remembering the things that truly matter.

I take my literary proverbial hat off to Natasha Boyd; she has delivered one hell of a page-turner! Written in first person with Keri Ann providing the voice, she has taken a far-fetched idea, the fantasy, and gave it plausibility. It felt authentic as I felt myself connecting with both, Jack and Keri Ann almost immediately.

*

Keri Ann Butler is an orphan. Her parents tragically killed in a road accident, all that remained was her Nana and her Brother Joey, as they spend the rest of their young lives growing up in their large family manor home in the small town of Butler Cove.

Now, with their Nana gone and Joey at med school, Keri Ann is left alone to renovate the house while working as a waitress. With a handful of Butler Cove friends, including one best friend, Jazz, Keri Ann’s life seems to have come to a monotonous standstill.

Jack Eversea is a Hollywood Superstar, but when the tabloids and gossip magazines catch wind of his Girlfriend’s indiscretions, his only refuge and means of escape is to a beach house in the sleepy town of Butler Cove.

Late one night he wonders into the local restaurant and orders a burger, but when he hears two girls gossiping about the ‘latest’ Hollywood news, he turns to leave. There is only one problem, he’s hungry and he can’t exactly wonder into the local supermarket without getting mobbed. He is totally out of his comfort zone, with no friends, no protection, with no-one knowing of his true whereabouts, he wants to remain anonymous for as long as possible, but in order to do so, he needs help!

Keri Ann offers him the Burger that he paid for when she spots him outside, but almost faints when she realises it’s no other than Jack Eversea himself!

“I certainly didn’t need to check the tabloid magazine Jazz had been reading, which definitely did not do him justice, to know that standing in front of me, Keri Ann Butler, outside the Snapper Grill in Butler Cover, population nine thousand, and hundreds of miles away from his expected location in Hollywood, was none other than Jack Eversea.”

Taking it upon herself to help him, they fast become friends when Jack offers to help her renovate the family home, if she promises to deliver all the bare essentials.

Keri Ann is young, an innocent, but not naïve enough to know that being in close proximity to this God-like creature was going to have a profound affect on her heart. He is only staying for three weeks, so with this realisation, Keri Ann decides to keep a distance, even though the pull they both feel towards each other goes against her decision at every turn.

Eventually it gets too much, and when Jack starts showing an interest beyond the trade-for-services friendship they have going on, Keri Ann feels herself being consumed by Jack the man, and not the actor as she finally starts to disconnect the two.

“You don’t see me as a famous person, but just as a person.”
Surprised, I said quietly, “You are just a person.”

Just as Jack and Keri Ann resume a passionate, yet stunningly beautiful love affair, things are brewing back in LA. With Jack’s disappearance, Audrey Lane - Jack’s girlfriend, wants him back and will go at any length to make her dream a reality….

*

When I say that parts of this book are stunningly beautiful, I MEAN IT! It’s been a while since a book has really captivated me when it comes to ‘first’ love scenes. I can truly reel off about 4, possibly 5 books that rendered me into a puddle, and Eversea is one of them! My Tummy Flutter richter-scale went OFF THE CHART!

This book, although starts off strong, does steer off a little around 20% for it then to pick up around the 50% mark. It became a slow build with sexual tension that could choke a horse, but by 75% you are swooning and sighing and grinning like a total idiot.

But of course, things have to change as both worlds collide. Enter the ex as she storms up trouble, or rather - drop a bombshell of epic proportions, and the whole vibe of this story completely changes.

The ending has a little cliffhanger, but it’s not overly frustrating because you know its going to be continued in book two, and I get the impression it will start off where it left off… well, lets hope so!

I need more Jack and Keri Ann and I can’t wait for the sequel because I will definitely be continuing with this series.

I recommend this to fans of Love Unscripted by Tina Reber.

Another FAVE of 2013! This is A MUST READ!

This pic describes my love for this book-just in case you needed any idea :)

I am in LOVE with Eversea. This book pulled me into it's arms immediately. It is so wonderfully written, that I was trying not to read it so darn fast. But I did, darn it. It is one of those light, quick, feel good books. Author Natasha Boyd has a way with her characters. If every book could be as compelling as this one, then I would be in freaking READING Heaven. No joke!

So our heroin Keri Ann is the epitome of perfection and innocence. I don't necessarily think that she is naive, but more reserved and unsure of things. She has the heart the size of the Pacific, and welcomes everyone with open arms. She loves with everything she has and holds her bestie and brother close to her heart. These two are her saving graces in life. I loved their bonds. It was important to me that they had such a great relationship. Because it just shows us that Keri Ann is a real person.

The gorgeous and alluring hero, is the famous and mouth-watering Jack Eversea. He is our dark, handsome, mysterious type of man. And readers let me tell you, I COULD NOT GET ENOUGH of him. I so wanted to lick my Kindle when he would do something sexy or just playful. The mysterious aspect of Jack was refreshing. Yeh so he is a movie star, that has some baggage, ok a lot of baggage...he might as well have a camel to carry it on. Seriously, this man is like a vagabond with his baggage. But I promise he is a freaking lovable vagabond. Boy is every woman's wetdream, oh wait...guys have wetdreams...oh well! You get what I am saying. :)

Because you will need to FAN yourself....Jack is SMOKIN'!!!

The playful witty banter between Keri Ann and Jack was perfection. I could not have asked for a better way to have these two carry on. My favorite thing about Keri Ann, is she coins Late Night Visitor for Jack. And it is rather fitting. I won't get into detail, but WOW....just wow. So these two pretty much own my heart. Yeh they are both from opposite ends of the spectrum, but I think that is why they, in a sense, complete each other. Life isn't always rainbows and roses, and Jack and Keri Ann both know this. Keri Ann has lost her parents and grandmother, and Jack is on a road of self discovery after an incident leaves him unsure of things.

Soooooo, Keri Ann and Jack have some crazy chemistry. I knew the moment Jack walked into her life, that things were about to get interesting!! The intimate interactions, not sexual, more flirting, talking, and eye effing, that they share DROVE.ME.WILD!

I just loved it. Girl doesn't know what to think! And I don't blame her, Jack is ball of scrumptiousness! But just because they share some wonderful chemistry doesn't necessarily mean they're meant to be....or are they? (Now to get this answer you must read the book....go run fast and get it!!!)

Book two needs to be here, like yesterday. I mean, holy hell Jack and Keri Ann! The ending, just blew my mind.

Honestly, I was stuck on what I was going to rate this book because it was so sweet and cute. You know like a kitten that wants to snuggle on your lap, with those big ole' kitten eyes?

Yeh that is what the book was like for me. Then BOOM, I was hit right in the freaking forehead with the ending. Yeh, I knew it was a 5 STAR READ, before I even finished the first sentence of the last chapter, it just took my heart and ran.

Seriously, the ending left me salivating, needing questions answered (even more than I already had), and wanting to snuggle like a kitten on Keri Ann's lap. Eversea will forever sit as one of my Faves of 2013! And what has me most at awe with this story, is that this is the debut novel for Author Natasha Boyd. So now go out and get this token of greatness-like right now!

Oh my goodness...I have totally hit the book jackpot lately! Eversea is another debut novel and once again, I am blown away by the previously undiscovered writing talent out there. I can only hope to join the ranks of these incredible writers one day.

Starting off, I loved the Low Country setting in this book. I was literally just there for Spring Break and adored this area that the author obviously loves. If you haven't been there before, you will want to go after reading this book.

Beyond the setting, the writing is just so darn good. I pretty much had a smile on my face from start to finish and couldn't put it down (unless the bathroom was calling, of course, and even then...). I also haven't been so...um...turned on by a book in a while. Yes, girl can write her some romance, that's for darn sure! ;o)

And I adored the characters...all of them. Okay, except for Audrey, the witchy Hollywood wench (look at me, throwing out the big bad curse words...LOL). Obviously, I loved Jack (who wouldn't?) and I really loved Keri Ann. But the supporting cast was also perfect: Joey, Keri Ann's protective older brother, her small-town group of friends, and especially Jazz, Keri Ann's best bud.

Making friends halfway through a school year in a new place was not high up on my list of skills. I wasn't sure how I lucked into Jazz, but somehow this blonde ball of energy with a round face of sunshine had turned her light on me one day in the fifth grade hallway, and I had been basking in the warm glow ever since.

Ahhhhh...so super sweet.

Great. I get to meet Jack Eversea, the Jack Eversea, and I act like a complete imbecile. It was so good Jazz wasn't here, she would have clobbered me by now. For that matter, she would have clobbered him and dragged him back to her lair.

LOL. Yeah, I was already thinking that Jazz needs her own book, and then a quick check on the author's website confirmed that she is! :o)

Jack laughed again, a slow, easy sound that ran over my skin like too many soft caresses. It must be the humidity. That, or I had managed to avoid having an unrealistic crush on this heart-throb through all of his many movies designed to make girls swoon, including playing my favorite fictional hero, only to have him walk into my place of employment, in the flesh, and deploy the swoon-bomb that was rapidly detonating over all my good senses. Had I been singled out? Did the Devil look up and see one sensible girl left and decide on tactical warfare to bring me into line?

Genius...pure genius!

Usually I'm not much for cliffhanger endings, but with this one, I really didn't mind. I appreciate that the author didn't rush the end, add a quick epilogue, and leave me wanting more with no promise to deliver. Plus, it wasn't a hanging-on-the-edge-of-the-cliff ending. Also, I just really wanted more of Jack and Keri Ann so one book wasn't going to suffice.

Keri Ann’i çok sevmiş olabilirim.

Yapamam... Yaralıyım, neden anlamak istemiyorsun? Uzun bir süre tek başıma kalıp kendimi, olanları dinlemem lazım. İnişli çıkışlı şeyler yaşamak istemiyorum. Şu an dipteyim ve bu yeterince canımı acıtıyor.”

Koşarak 2. kitaba başlıyorum. Lütfen, 2. kitapta Jack kırık kalbimi tamir etsin 😔

Bir de kapağa bayıldım. Hikayeyi özetleyen kapaklar gönlümün efendisi. Kitabı okurken durup durup kapağa baktım.
