THIS SERIES IS EVERYTHING TO ME! I loved this book, so action packed, lots of magic and fighting! Really loved the relationship between Indigo and Bishop, he was so supportive for her and a perfect boyfriend!

I'm giving this book 2.5 stars. I'm so disappointed. I really really liked the first book so much I gave it 5 stars but this one just fell flat.

Pros: This story has a lot of adrenaline moments when I couldn't read the words fast enough. There's magic. The highest level of witches are not nice. I loved Aunt Penny. Another dimension prison.

This book is so stupid on so many levels. Well, indigo is. She literally cried over everything and then when she's captured because of her immature reckless actions because she just remembered that she hasn't been grieving over her dead mother. This book is so stupid on so many levels. Well, indigo is. She literally cried over everything and then when she's captured because of her immature reckless actions because she just remembered that she hasn't been grieving over her dead mother. Her emotions are all over the place.

Let me put it this way, when you can't do shit with your magic, have no experience in rescuing people or the new place you're going to, which, I might add, is known to be extremely dangerous, you do not go alone, with no gear, and without telling anyone just because your boyfriend and aunt told you how dangerous it is. You especially do not give money to a creepy old witch to take you there who could just kill you without anyone knowing.

Also, just because you're grieving and trying to help your friend does not give you the right to emotionally manipulate your partner. It also doesn't justify you "falling in love" with someone you met twice! Like indie and the sorcerer guy didn't even spend more than 2 hours together in those two incidents in which they met, but she was willing to ruin her relationship with Bishop for a kiss in the bathroom. Wow. Yeah, okay??? Oh oh oh. Let's not forget how she was so judgy on the whole sorcerer thing since she thought she, a witch, is better than them. How she looked down at her aunt for loving a sorcerer, when she was so very willing to cheat on her boyfriend with one.

Oh. Her dad. The guy she was so willing to kill and all. And then suddenly out of nowhere he's her father. YOU DIDNT EVEN KNOW HE EXISTED TWO CHAPTER AGO! Why should that change or affect the fact that he's an awful creature who is sacrificing teenage humans to escape a prison that he deserves to be in because he wENT ON A MURDER SPREE?????

Okay. Her aunt? The whole excuse of her being restricted by "The Family" is unbelievable okay. I mean your own sister and niece, who knows scratch about magic, are in danger but you won't help because some guy said he'd make you regret it? Oh yeah. Okay.

Bishop's logic: let me tell my emotionally unstable girlfriend about this very dangerous thing that could risk her life and then go like "oh no bad idea. I shouldn't have mentioned that." LIKE REALLLYYYY??? You thinkkkkkk??? What kind of logic is that? Stupid logic.

That being said, I appreciated the sarcasm. I like the idea of an alternate dimension. And the cover is pretty cool. The writing style was okay-ish. I didn't hate it, but it's not one that I appreciate. It wouldn't make a difference if it didn't exist tbh. And I was able to actually finish the book so it's not that bad, but that doesn't say much since I try to finish all the books I read even if I don't like them. ...more

Charmed starts off right from where we last left Hexed, the first novel in The Witch Hunter series. Indie has spent the last few weeks frantically searching for her best friend Paige, after the now deceased sorcerer Leo kidnapped her. She’s tried every spell imaginable; getting her no closer to finding Paige than the last few hundred times she tried. Indigo believes it is her own fault that Paige was kidnapped, despite her warlock boyfriend Bishop telling her otherwise. There’s a reason why no one can find Paige. She’s trapped in another alternate dimension known as Los Demonios, a place where the worst and most dangerous witches, warlocks, and sorcerers are banished to for unimaginable crimes. But that won’t stop Indie from finding a way in. Despite everyone’s warnings that no one who has gone there has ever come out, Indie is still determined to find a way in. There she must team up with some of the most foulest and dangerous criminals of all time. But can she really trust them?

Indigo’s character was just as beautifully written as she was in the first installment. She is just as loving as before, as she is devoted to her friends and family, and full of determination. Sure she is also flawed with recklessness and jealously, but that is what makes her three-dimensional and real. Someone, we as reader can connect with. Throughout the first novel, Indigo grew as a person, and a witch as she learns about her heritage and what being a witch truly means. Whilst in the second novel, I found she matured a lot more as a person as she is thrown into tough situations where she must be quick on her feet if she wishes to succeed.

Bishop was just as adorable and flirtatious as always. I really love how he is so caring and loving as a boyfriend, as he never tries to control or demean Indie. Sure he gets pissed with some of her choices, but who wouldn’t? He at least understands why she makes the choices she does, and what she is going through.

I really enjoyed this book as a whole, as it surpassed my expectations and more. Everything was written in concrete detail, creating flamboyant imagery, leaving no unanswered questions in its wake. Michelle Krys does a wonderful job at transporting her readers into a brand new world of magic and terrifying wonders, leaving you gasping for more.

I was a big fan of Hexed. I absolutely loved the book and wanted desperately to read the sequel even as I was still in the middle of reading the first. Hexed was one of those books that I just knew I was going to love, and so Charmed was already a winner for me. I couldn't wait to see what was next for Indie and Bishop (my all-time favorite love interest). And I am happy to say that I wasn’t disappointed.

I enjoyed this book yet I hated it at the same time. Indie was painfully annoying throughout most of the book, and at one point I thought about just not reading anymore. But I hate not finishing a book. I'm not saying that it got much better, but I gave it three stars because I enjoyed the plot. I was surprised by a couple of the twists and I liked the idea of this other world. I was a huge fan of book 1 Hexed, but this one was just okay to me. I did enjoy the book, but I was hoping to see more relationship development between indigo and Bishop. I found myself missing Bishop throughout a lot of this book. They did have their moments, but I definitely wanted and needed more. There is definitely plenty of action in this one and I liked it, but I felt like there was something missing in this one and I hate that it's the end!

I'm a seriously huge fan of any book dealing with witches and witchcraft, so this book (and series) immediately grabbed my attention. I'm glad that they did, because this series is very well written with a perfect blend of multiple genres, which will definitely appeal to fans of all types of fiction. Indie is a fantastic main character for the book (and series). She's intelligent, strong, caring, devoted, loving, and full of determination. The first book showed a lot of character growth for Indie, and I enjoyed watching her mature throughout the story. In this installment, she continues to grow as a person - as both a regular person and as a witch. There are more tough situations that she has to deal with throughout the story, like going to Los Demonios to rescue Paige, that bring her character close to breaking - only to have her come back stronger than ever. I liked watching Indie continue to grow and to be more confident in who she is as a whole - both normal teen and witch. I was able to immediately fall right back into Indie's world within the first couple paragraphs of the book - and it felt like I had never left. Everything was written in detail with great attention to detail and vivid imagery - to the point where I could easily close my eyes and imagine myself going through the story with Indie. Another huge aspect for me was the author's use of first person point of view. I talk about the importance of point of view in almost every review, because I truly believe that it plays a major role in how the reader experiences the story. First person POV is by far my favorite because the reader gets to really know the narrator - who is usually the main character as well - on a deeply personal level that can't be achieved in any other way. We get a look inside their minds - how they are experiencing everything that's happening during the story, along with their fears, hopes, dreams, inner thoughts, memories, and so much more. The bond that the reader is able to create with the narrator with this writing style is incredibly intimate. It also gives the story a conversational tone, which I think makes it flow more naturally and helps the reader to immerse themselves fully into the book.

Everything about this book was fantastic - it surpassed any expectations and hopes I had for it after reading the first one. The characters - including the major and even some minor ones - were all unique with their own personalities and traits. The setting was basically just like our world - except for the whole witch/warlock aspect. But in this book we get to experience the underworld for a while in Los Demonios. The author did a wonderful job transporting the reader into this magical and terrifying place, just as she did with the rest of the book. The story had a quick yet natural pace, except for when things were getting really suspenseful and full of action, and it made it even faster. I found myself devouring each page to see what was going to happen next and ended up reading the whole book in one sitting. It's definitely a page-turner that's full of everything you could ask for - action, adventure, excitement, paranormal aspects, witches, fantasy, and even romance. Because of this great blend of genres, the book will appeal to fans of all types of fiction. There's a bit of something for everyone inside. Overall, I definitely recommend this book (and series) to all readers - especially those who love stories about witches, along with paranormal and fantasy fiction. The only thing I hate about series is having to wait for what feels like forever for the next installment to come out, which is what I have to do now - but I'll deal with it because I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the next book!

I didn’t remember everything from book 1, so I spent the first few chapters trying to remember what all happened. There’s a nice amount of recap in it, but if you’re like me, unless you read it a week ago, that still might not help. Even though I was initially fuzzy on the details, it still took no time at all for me to connect with the story. This leads to her taking a lot of risks, lashing out at the people around her, and generally just giving her all to save her best friend, Paige. She is one of my absolute favorite characters I’ve read because she is so human, even with her witchy powers. She is flawed and selfish, gets jealous easily, and can be reckless, and this all makes her come to life. Surrounding her flaws, Indigo has a giant heart that makes her so three-dimensional and complex. I really, really love how she learns to embrace both light and dark sides of herself as the story progresses.

Whenever I read a sequel, I get ridiculously nervous about how the romance will play out, if there is one. I’ve read a heavy amount of sequels where the relationship goes negative or the two people are apart for 90% of the story, and it generally just all feels bad. While there were times I thought something like that was coming on in this story, I love how the author handles Bishop and Indigo. Indigo is going through so much, so naturally this will affect her love life. While the two definitely butt heads (both adorably and seriously) and fight, they have some awesome good moments as well. They’re young, and with everything happening around them, they’re still trying to find a consistent rhythm and figure out what they really mean to each other, and it’s wonderful. I also think the romance is less concentrated (if I remember correctly) here than it was in the first book. Indigo really is primarily concerned with saving Paige and struggling with her aunt, though Bishop gets plenty of story line.

The plot line keeps the action coming and throws in great twists and surprises. I couldn’t put it down, and there are SO MANY times the reader will might want to cry in anger or grief for the characters as each scenario hits. I read this in one sitting, and by the time I finished, I felt like I just wandered around in an emotionally crippling daze with a major book hangover coming on.

If you love a good witch story with heart, I can’t recommend this duology enough. It’s intense, has a kick butt main character, a swoony guy, and lots of other incredible elements. Indigo is a character I won’t forget, and I can’t wait to read more from Michelle Krys!

I really enjoyed this book. I first saw book one (Hexed) when it was an audiobook prize at Armchair BEA last year. Ever since I didn’t win it, I’ve wanted to read it. So when the Charmed tour came around, I knew I had to jump on board!

First of all, let’s talk about that amazing cover. It blew the first book’s cover out of the water (and I really liked that one!) Even if you have no idea what the book is about, the striking image on the front should make you want to pick it up.

I loved Indie and her progression through this series. I’m not sure if this is the end of it, but I would be happy with how things resolved if it was. However, I will be super on board if there is a book three because I really liked this one. I think Charmed was stronger than Hexed in some ways, so I can only imagine how a third book would be. While Hexed focused on the characters, this book was all about action and the plot was a driving force.

Hexed ended on a major cliff, as Indie’s best friend Paige has been kidnapped. By the man she just killed. And no one else knows how to find her. So yeah, that was a fun end (let’s just say I’m glad I could immediately start the second book!) Of course, this brings the focus of book two to finding Paige. Indie now knows the secrets of her past and is on a mission. However, that didn’t stop Krys from revealing SO many more things about the past. There are lots of secrets coming to light in Charmed.

We definitely see a different Indie in this book. Whereas in book one when she was open and honest with her boyfriend and aunt, she was secretive in this book. She took reckless chances and was willing to do anything without considering the consequences. You can see the hurt of losing her friend and how that changed her as a person. Seeing that character development was a great asset to the book, even if it meant she made some seriously bad choices. ...more

Does anyone know if this is supposed to be a trilogy? I'm asking because this book felt like it was the end of Indie's story. There was nothing left untied or any unanswered questions and usually that makes me happy, but in this case it doesn't. Maybe because I was expecting it for it to be a trilogy and it's not? As I had said before, this sequel (to me) was Unnecessary. It was the exact same difficulty that I had with the last book in the Mara Dyer Trilogy. There was so much created tension from the death of Indigo's mom that, the kidnapping of Paige should have not been added. In the first book, she realizes that The Family basically had them as a decoy with PROTECTING a fake bible. If my mom died because of a FAKE book I thought was real and was thought I was protecting the Witch's race, I'd be fuckin ...more

I read 'Hexed' in 2016 and was obsessed. Krys did a fantastic job with the world building, characters, storyline, etc. I shipped Bishop and Indigo so hard..so why did 'Charmed' fall so flat to me?? I will say, I have been in a reading slump lately. Obviously, this changes my excitement for books, so that could have a big role in this. I had a lot of fun reading Michelle Krys' debut, Hexed, which came out last year, so needless to say I was looking forward to reading the sequel!

Indie is a great character, and one who stands out to me from most other YA heroines. She's a little bit sassier, and it's also interesting to me to see a character who (at one point) was considered one of the cool, popular girls rather than the more common, bookish type. And it's precisely that attitude and spunk that leads Indie to continue on her jou I had a lot of fun reading Michelle Krys' debut, Hexed, which came out last year, so needless to say I was looking forward to reading the sequel!

Indie is a great character, and one who stands out to me from most other YA heroines. Reasons to Read:

1. Indie's loyalty:

One of Indie's remarkable character qualities is the loyalty she exhibits towards those she cares about. And the events in Charmed show just how far Indie is willing to go to help others... and it's pretty darn far! She isn't the type of person to back away from a challenge or anything difficult. Instead, she tackles those problems head on and tries her hardest to find a solution. It's an admirable quality and one that will endear her to readers.

2. A closer look at this world of witches and warlocks:

Hexed was our introduction to the world of magic that Michelle had created, and while it was mysterious and interesting, we didn't get to learn that much about it in the first book. Charmed is a much closer look at what's going on here, and we also get to visit Los Demonios with Indie, which is a whole new experience and very eye-opening for her. And with this new world comes new secrets, of course...

The beginning of Charmed moved along at a slower pace than I like and particularly so given the immediate problems. The stakes are incredibly high, yet Indie is forced to run through the motions to appease her aunt and act more like a normal teenager. And I get it - I can understand why Penny would insist that Indie obey the rules, but it didn't seem to fit the story and it didn't really seem to fit Penny's character either. And overall, that made this a slower read for me.

As well, as much as I loved learning more about Los Demonios and the people who are trapped there, I also felt like there wasn't too much attention paid to them. There's a lot going on in this world, and not much of it is dealt with nor solved by the end.

But Indie's story is told and it's told well. Michelle has a talent for writing, as evidenced by Indie's clever thinking and feisty attitude. And the action in the story is very well-told.

I definitely liked Charmed better than Hexed even though I gave them both four stars.

I think the reason I liked this one more is because there wasn't as much high school drama. And when there was high school drama it was coming from Bianca and not our main protagonist so I had more respect for Indigo as our lead character.

I enjoyed this one a bit less than the first. It was still lighthearted and engaging, but it felt a bit rushed.

It's well written, like the first book, but the plot felt very disjointed and confusing at times. Jumping from dimension to dimension can make a readers head spin. Where did that even come from? Another dimension that was conveniently never mentioned in the first book?

Why the love triangle? I don't mind them usually, but in this case it just took away from the story.

SO thankful to have gotten a review copy for this one! In case you didn't know, I'd read book one a month back and was having a bad book hangover. I needed to know what happened next! I enjoyed this book so much more then the first, the writing was a lot better, I didn't have as many issues while reading it. The story line was again fast paced and entertaining and the additional characters were great !
plus bishop wasn't nearly as annoying as he was in Hexed

I kept telling myself that I'd hate this book considering my reaction to the first one however it exceeded my pre judgments and delivered :) this was my first audiobook and I thought it was really fun and easy to read... ...more

Overall, I really loved this book. I read it all this afternoon in about three hours. I love the characters and the story grabbed my attention and wouldn't let me put it down. I loved the ending, which is SO sweet. The only bad thing about receiving an ARC is that you have to wait even longer for the NEXT book. I can't wait to see where the rest of the series takes Indie and Bishop.

Indigo was a bit annoying sometimes, but I loved all the other character even more.. especially Bishop!
Charmed was as entertaining as the first book or maybe even a little bit more.

Does anybody know if this is a duology?
I would really love to read a third book in this series!
