You have my explicit, blanket permission to read anything by Nicolas Wild. He is wry and funny and reports on politics beautifully.

Read this one specially for the way it speaks of the Zoroastrian religion.

Wild, you have my heart.

Bouleversant...

This graphic novel is one of the most informative that I've ever read. It teaches us a lot about Zoroastrianism, Iran and acceptance.

Could help but tear up at some passages. As a French woman of Persian ethnicity, I could relate to a lot of the characters' emotions, especially that good old frustration.
I also learnt a lot about the Zoroastrian community in Paris. Cannot wait to do some research on the Yazdanis. Especially given that my name is Ava and that I am a singer as well ;

This is a book to pick up of you've always been curious about what the concept of Zoroastrianism is.
This is a book to read about a great humanist who wanted to get his religion back to its former glory, a religion that practices and preaches peace and has been a target for religious persecution for centuries.
This is a book to read if you want a small glimpse into Iran from the 2000s through a lot foreigner's eyes.

...more

The Zoroastrian religion is one of the most ancient monotheistic faiths and it probably influenced Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Its prophet was Zarathustra, who was born in what's now Iran sometime between 1500 and 600 BCE. In a time of crisis he meditated in the desert to find the meaning of life.

Pse. Nada memorable.

Nicolas, Paris'te tanıştığı Sofya'nın peşinden Tahran'a gider.

Being a graphic novel, it is a very easy read. But the topic is also quite interesting. The only frustrating thing is that after finishing, I felt like searching information on this particular case and have totally failed at finding anything!! For the first time google has let me down!

Çok güzeldi, çok! Detayları süperdi. Hikaye insanın İran'a gitme isteğini kabartıyor. Esen Kitap Kabil Disko'yu da dilimize kazandırsa da okusak *-*
