This book provides a straightforward look at human anatomy and its relation to movement. The text identifies specific muscles and muscle groups and describes exercises for strengthening and developing those muscles. The Manual of Structural Kinesiology makes important information readily available to students through a combination of logical presentation and a concise writing style.
This is a really great reference book. It is clear and thorough in its layout and design, carefully and logically going through each muscle and its origins/insertions and articulations. I learned a lot from this guide and I am often referencing it. The illustrations and explanations are terrific and
I'm not officially finished with this book yet, but I would like to leave it in 2018 and I have only a couple of chapters left.
It is an excellent textbook, although a bit too detailed for my purposes. A big minus is that you don't have access to the answer key. This is a problem, because some of the questions are not easy at all and I'm not affiliated with any school or tutor. However, there are also various tests on their website, which are quite helpful (matching, multiple choice, flashcards crossword puzzles).
