The author has clearly done his homework. This book is extraordinarily rich in details regarding the lives and experiences for many of the actual members of the 7th Tennessee. The descriptions of the battles are so well described you feel like you are actually there ... in all its glory and gore. A must read for civil war buffs or anyone with an ancestor who fought in this mighty struggle.

If you had a ancestor from Wilson County in the American Civil War, they are probably in this book. This heroic story opened up my family history in amazing detail. These guys were the point of the tip of the spear, and served more valiantly than possibly any military unit in American history. The 7th Tennessee had 43% casualties in the in Pickets charge alone.
