Beginning with a brief overview of the Bible's structure and history, the authors highlight the development of the canon, point out the major events in the story of the Bible's translation into English, and assess the strengths and weaknesses of the different contemporary English translations of Scripture.
This was a good book, the authors do an excellent job of explaining the translation process and the background regarding the various types, formats, and translations. This helps expert and novice students of the Bible to better understand the Bible itself and to dive deeper. I know that it is an older edition but they do a good job of covering several of the more popular versions. I think this is helpful to go through with a group or a mature mentor.
