I was given this book in exchange for an honest review (Read it & Reap 205, the group "Shup up & Read" here on Goodreads).

I am only a page or two into this book and I am already pissed off. The very first sentence starts with the redundant use of hyphens. There are several ways to use hyphens, but it seems that over the last years, the use that has been made in the Twatlight books has become the most popular one; to add unneeded information that stops the smooth flow of the sentences. I confess that Paranormal is as far out of my confort range as is humanly possible. I've only ever read Twilight and Angelfall and I've never seen an episode of Buffy in my life ever (also, is Sabrina the Teenage Witch paranormal?). When given a chance to read Storm of Blood, complete with a demon-vanquishing heroine and her mission to infiltrate a witches coven suspected of using illegal blood magic - I was unsure how I would fare, but I was very interested in the indie-career of author Lissa B ...more

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review!
I loved the idea of this story, Demon Hunters controlled by a council of Elders and sent to vanquish the Monsters of the world with their lightning power. I was very happy that I read the prequel first it gave me a great look into Tina's triumphs and misfortunes that took place shortly before the events of this Novel, I really liked having that little bit extra while I read this one.

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side!

Firstly I would like to thank Lissa Bilyk, the author of Storm of Blood, for this fantastic opportunity that she presented me with by allowing me to review her work now moving on to the review part.

I loved it! I really did. The story was awesome and I completed it in just one sitting and it took me just three hours to eat it up! The story line just grabbed my attention when I first checked out the blurb b

Storm of Blood (Storm Force, Book 1) by Lissa Bilyk

The book begins with Christine Storm at a hearing for using her vanquishing rite improperly. She had used her power to kill a human rather than to vanquish a demon as her power is allegedly designed. Even though she killed the man in order to save an innocent girl from the clutches of a serial killer, she is still in trouble with the Council. In addition to having killed a human, she asked a demon to assist in rescuing the girl from the killer.

Add to her punishment Tina and her mother have to infiltrate the local witch coven to expose the illegal blood magicking taking place. There is meets the hot but mysterious Lachlan who has deci

"I was given this book in exchange for an honest review (Read it & Reap the group here on Goodreads)"

When I first opened the book, I skimmed the opening line, and found a trigger word that peaked my interest. Once I read the first two to three chapters, I admit that my eyes rolled a little at the similar story line that have flooded the shelves recently.

HOWEVER, I kept it, and while it did remind me of my fav tv show, I enjoyed the ride. It took me only a few hours from start to finish.

When I first picked up the book I didn't know what to expect as I had no preconceived notions about what this story was or should be, but I was pleasantly surprised. The story revolves around Tina (Christina), a young witch who is on trial for using her magic to kill a human...even though she had the best of intentions, it was still considered against their laws. As punishment her powers are stripped and she is forced to infiltrate a coven who is suspected of using blood magic. With no way to pr ...more

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this story. The characters are all well written. The story flowed well. I was confused by all the references to past events as I assumed this was the first book in the series labelling itself storm force #1. I gather there was actually a prequel which I haven't read. It may have been helpful but it isn't completely necessary.

I liked the way the story was written... NO SPOILERS but at some point during the book Tina's per

I received this book in exchange for my honest review. Tina has been banned from using her "lightning" to vanquish demons. She vanquished a human while saving her friend. Tina and her mother have to pretend to be witches and join the local coven to investigate the alleged use of blood magic. Lachlan uses blood magic on her to be interested in him. Tina already has her eye on a shapeshifting demon that has a peace treaty with her family. There is a jealous witch after Tina for dating Lachlan. Lac ...more

I enjoyed this book a lot. As I was reading though I kept questioning, is this a part two book??? I felt like I was missing pieces of the story, because the author kept referring to things that happened in the past. When I reached the end of the story I was ready to start the next book, I am hoping it is a series. I also found out that there is a prequel for this book, which answers my questions about why I was missing so much information. I am ready to order the prequel and read it, then order ...more

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

For those of you of a certain age this is a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" type adventure where our heroine demon hunter infiltrates a coven of witches while falling for a bad-boy demon. Once the author gets into her stride she writes with a light, humorous touch and provides an enjoyable read. I thought the story lacked a little originality and I couldn't quite get to grips with the lore (a bit more explanation would have helped)

I really enjoyed reading this book! Fun, exciting, and well-written, I was ready to read the next book as soon as this one ended. There are a couple of issues i found however. The first complaint I have is it felt like a sequel, not a first book, at times. The occasional reference to events in Tina's past made it feel like I had missed something as a reader. This wasn't a major issue, but frustrating at times. Secondly, American readers may struggle with the Australian vocabulary. Again, nothing ...more

I can say that this book surprised even me. When I started to read this book I thought it was going to be just like every other book about vampires and demons and witches but I can honestly say I was wrong. This book has lots of twists and turns. I cant wait to read more of this series. Lissa Bilyk has made a believer out of me.

I loved this book. It took me so long to get thru because of work but it jumped right in, and the story unfolded beautifully! I have to admit, I was fooled by the good guys and the bad guys in the ring lol! WTG!
