OUTRAGEOUS HISTORICAL REVELATIONS IN FEWER THAN 140 CHARACTERS! THEY TWEETED WHAAAATTT? History's most famous personalities share their ridiculous, scandalous, and humorous thoughts. From the ancient tweets of @Plato and @Socrates to modern updates from @Napoleon, @Hitler, and @BabeRuth, Historical Tweets has all the answers to history's biggest questions: What happened to the dragons? What does "four score" mean? WWJT? For those who can handle only 140 characters' worth of history at a time (and don't mind breaking their history teachers' hearts), this is the perfect book. @Kissinger Which button do I push to erase my last 18 and a half tweets? This is crap. Why would anybody buy this book? How many did they actually manage to sell? It takes barely 10 minutes to read through. Allow yourself to chuckle a few times before you find yourself bored out of your wits by the most predictably adolescent attempts at humour. I know this is not supposed to be high art, but this is pretty damn low.
It is an okay one time read, but I didn't find the humor entertaining. Maybe it was because I don't find modern American humor funny (i.e. SNL), that could be why I just didn't get a laugh out of it. The Adam tweet was good...
After coming across Historical Tweets accidently, I bought the book from amazon on a whim. As much as I enjoy History, I thought the short and snappy concept of this book was a great idea. My favourite of the book was "Brutus: @Julius C - Thanks for the birthday knife. I’ll always have your back."
It was a quick, enjoyable read but I am glad that I didn't pay full price for this book.
Meh. I didn't really find this very funny. To me the book just came off as kind of dumb and inane, though it did make me smile once in awhile. Perhaps I would have liked it more if I didn't know so much about history.
Cool concept. I saw a website that did something similar to HISTORICAL TWEETS and I was crying from laughter.
As for this book? The humor didn't work for me. I think I smiled once or twice, but the rest bored me. It felt like the authors tried too hard to make the tweets funny.
A book of giggles! A comical collection of what some of the most famous personalities from the past would have tweeted on Twitter. If you’re a history junkie, this short and witty book will prove to be a blast to look through.
