Jonathan Brazee does a suburb job of recounting the history of The First Barbary War. Mr. Brazee has done an exceptional job researching and introducing the reader to a few of the non-fictional military personnel involved in this battle - O���Bannon, Decatur, Preble, Porter, Hull, and Somers.

I'm a big fan of historical Naval books and this is based on the first times the new US Navy got involved in serious conflicts. Read it straight through on the plane from San Francisco to Osaka and bought the 2nd book as soon as I could connect to Amazon.
