I really enjoyed this book.. the interwoven mix of mystery, romance and supernatural drew me in and left me wanting more.. I really felt like I got to know the characters and cared for them.. It is definitely worth reading😊
I received a copy of Her Sister's Murder for an honest review.
Holy cow! I went into this book thinking I wasn't going to like it after the last book I read by Tabatha Short but holy mother bunches of oats Her Sister's Murder was absolutely freaking amazing.
When Abby convinces Kate to go see a fortune teller Kate’s life is changed forever. When her sister’s murder is brought up all Kate can think about is getting answers and her long time crush Adam. When Adam finally notices her though it’s at the wrong time because now Abby wants nothing more than for Adam to ask her to prom and Kate only wants to make Abby happy. Now Kate is going behind her best friends back when Adam and her take a trip to help Kate find the truth about her sister’s fate. With Adam and his brother Arthur’s help they help solve the mystery of that day when Loraine went missing and what she finds will be the start of a new future for her.
Holy smoke on the water I loved this story from the beginning pages until the end. Her Sister’s Murder is the perfect combination of the supernatural, mystery, and romance. The entire story focuses around Katy trying to find a way to the truth about her older sisters’ murder. She gets help from her long time sexy crush Adam whose psychic powers connect them. Kate thinks a lot about her sisters’ death as well as her betrayal to her best friend for her feelings towards Adam. Adam and Kate have liked each other for a long time but since Kate asked Adam to go to prom with Abby instead their forbidden feelings haven’t stopped and in fact continue to grow.
Katy finds the truth behind what happened to her sister and while she loses something or rather someone extremely important to her but in the end she gains truth and so much more.
All in all, I loved Her Sister’s Murder for so many reasons. The characters were amazing and relatable. The secrets and mystery surrounding Kate’s sisters’ disappearance was so amazing and kept me reading to find out who and why. The writing was phenomenal. I was drawn into this amazing book from page one and am so happy that I was allowed to get a copy of this amazing story. I sincerely recommend Her Sister’s Murder to anyone who is looking to try an amazing new story that is a quick read with loads of mystery and a unique story.
This was a good story. I like the old native psychic and how it melded into Kate's hopeful relationship with Adam. Shortly in the story, we find out that Adam is actually the psychic's nephew, and later on that he has a slight ability also, of sensing Kate's thoughts. Kate is a good girl, always putting her wants aside to make sure her friend Abby and her mother are happy first. After a trip to the psychic however, Kate is reminded of her sister who had been kidnapped many years before, before Kate was even born. After searching and a trip to the town she disappeared from, Kate finally figures out what happened, but doesn't listen to the warnings and finds herself in danger as well. There were a couple of spots in the book where Adam's name was used where his brother Arthur's name should have been (at 77%, not sure of the page number) and another spot where she was used instead of he, but both were easily figured out, and easily overlooked. The story was well written, and had good characters and relationships. As I got closer to the end of the story, I was afraid I was going to be left with a cliffhanger and have to wait on the next one, but thankfully, it was wrapped up very well at the end. I am giving this book 4 stars simply because the writing felt a bit redundant in some areas, possibly amateurish. This is not a bad thing, as most authors develop greatly, as their writing progresses. The story was great, the way that it unfolded was awesome. The relationship struggles were on point and the characters were vivid. All in all, I was not disappointed with this story, at all. It really was a great book. A few editorial corrections and it could be even more amazing. Like I said, not a bad thing. <3 Great read. Reviewed by Ashley E. of www.faebooks.co.uk
As so many other authors, Tabitha Short has been neglected by agents and publishers, all of whom are closely related to Voldemort. In Her Sister's Murderer, Tabitha gives us a wonderful mystery with just enough psychic twists to make it unique yet believable. It isn't set in a fancy location and Tabitha has created characters who are real to life. I also enjoyed the teen love agony and the teenage thought processes were so spot on you will think your 17 again. This is a must read! Check Amazon or with me for I know the author personally for you have to get this book.
