Oh my goodness I do NOT know where to start! I've been an avid follower of this series since I first laid eyes on it. Zoey and her ragtag family of creatures have always kept me entertained and googling to learn more about the latest weird and wonderful mythical creature and this instalment proved to be no different.

If I were Zoey

When I'm looking for a fun, light hearted read with a huge collection of weird and wonderful supernatural creatures this is my go to series, R.L. Naquin never fails to make me laugh and Demons in My Driveway was no exception to that. I have to admit that this story was a little darker in tone and had a few less humorous moments than the previous books but I'm still an avid fan and looking forward to seeing how Zoey's story ends in Phoenix in My Fortune. Actually, I'm not sure that I'm ready for ...more

This was much better than the last book. I think Golems was a transition book and they are hard to write well.

I had some issues with this but mostly they were settled in the end. I am now really curios where the next book will lead.

Bernice takes a reluctant Zoey to England for a Hidden meeting and everyone reacts with alarm to see her out in the open. They are told that every country has now had Aegises attacked and only a handful are left alive. Zoey flees home to find Maurice in a panic, especially when a portal to the demon world opens on their driveway. Talia the Demon Queen is not happy about it and decides to help try and stop it but the church cult which includes Pansy keep chanting to open more. When each portal op ...more

Enjoying this series and I'm excited for the next book as well as sad that it's the last in the series. Things are coming for a head with Zoey and the gang. The Big Bad is coming. Things didn't really pick up until almost to the end. A lot of waiting in the middle and some of what happens in the storyline confused me as they have happened before the beginning of the book. I almost thought I missed a book in between. All in all pretty good

I don’t know why it took me so long to finally read this book. I think maybe reading this one, I knew I’d immediately have to read the next one and then the series would be over and I don’t want it to end. This series was a surprise to me. I had a feeling I would like it, but I didn’t realize how much. I have fallen for Zoey and her family of Hidden and I don’t want to say goodbye. Thankfully, I don’t have to as this will definitely be a series I will re-read in the future.

Well the story is progressing smoothly I guess but its still getting bogged down by circumstances and way too many characters to keep proper track of. There's only one more book to go so I'm willing to see how things end.

Not as good as the earlier books. Does a lot of telling rather than showing and was a bit repetitive. Still an interesting world and some good characters.

I'm a little freaked out because as I write this, I know that the next book will be the last, and I'm gunna cry! I flipping love this series. I've become so attached to these characters!! I love them, and their story! But anywho, Zoey is always in trouble. And this time, it's a big deal. Zoey finally has her mom back, BUT all the other Aegis are being murdered and it's gunna cause the apocalypse, literally. They hold the human world separate from the supernatural world so if they die, we all die ...more

This series quickly became one of the few that I follow very closely when I read the first two books a little over a year and a half ago. I always look forward to the next instalment, and this being the penultimate book in the series I was sure the stakes would be upped yet again.

We join Zoey in England a few months further down the line following events in book four. We pretty quickly find out that during that downtime Zoey and Riley broke up. All the way through this book I kept asking myself

With this being the second to the last book in the Monster Haven series, DEMONS IN MY DRIVEWAY spends a lot of time setting up for the end through big revelations and big changes for Zoey and her friends. The clever, quirky creatures and light moments help balance out the loads of death, near deaths, and losses that pervade this book. Its the loyalty and strength of Zoey's family and friends that make the coming apocalypse in the next book seem pretty m

I was so excited to get this book on Netgalley. I fell in love with this series and am excited to see where it is going and looking back, it is amazing to see how far Zoey has come. The last book, Golem in My Glovebox, had Zoey searching for the person who kidnapped her mother. Zoey and her boyfriend/bodyguard Riley were on a cross country trek to reestablish the Hidden police force aka O.G.R.E.S., all the while trying to stop a serial killer who planned to make Zoey's mom their big finale. I am ...more

I just love this quirky series and "Demons in My Driveway" is another great installment. There is apparently only one more book left in the series and this book is beginning to tie things up nicely. We get the opportunity to finally obtain resolution to some of the character drama that has plagued us since the beginning.

Our story begins with Zoey attending a meeting in Europe where she hopes to meet other Aegises. Unfortunately, she is dismayed when she discovers that people are treating her as

Not as good as the second book, but a great improvement over the last one.

After the boring last book, this one redeems both itself and the series by having an interesting story and some actual pacing. This is the fifth book with the sixth already announced, so there might be spoilers for stupid people:

It feels like the book is setting up all the pieces for the grand finale and it does succeed. Yes it is extremely hard to feel any kind of suspense if the deadly threat to our heroine comes true or

Update: I think I'm enjoying these books even more the second time around, especially since some of my gaps in backstory are now filled. I do miss the less worried Zoey of the first few, but it's nice to see things grow and develop.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

If you’re looking for a zany and amazing group of misfit paranormals, look no further than this series! They have everything from closet monsters to gnomes and all the paranormals (or “Hidden”) in between

Zoey Donovan is one of the very few Aegis left in the world. She helps the Hidden stay safe in the human world. Her house is generally bursting at the seems with creatures that need some help or somewhere safe to stay. This time around things are a bit different. Zoey's mother is back in the picture and living at her house. But that's not the only change, the reaper boyfriend we've all grown to love is out of the picture, though they're still friends. Being an Aegis is taking a toll on Zoey, and ...more

3.5 stars = I like it, but..This is normally a lighter series, and though there does tend to be some death in the stories this book just didn't seem to have as many humorous little bits to balance that out. With just two Aegis left in the US, Zoey heads across the pond to an International conference and discovers that the loss is world wide - and that there is a plot to wipe out the rest of the world's Aegis - plus a zombie apocalypse is looming.

So the foundation of the story is sort of sad and

"Demons in My Driveway" is the fifth book in R.L. Naquin's Monster Haven Series. Zoey heads to London to attend the international gathering of Hidden Governments with Bernice to find out that the Americans aren't the only ones suffering losses. With the opening up of a portal to another world, Zoey and her mother are put on lockdown inside her Fairy Ring. Whoever is trying to break the Covenant is stepping up their game. Can Zoey and her mother survive long enough to keep the Covenant from falli ...more

Part of a most excellent series.

The Monster Haven books are wonderful. Fun to read, the author has courage and is willing to take risks. Demons, book #5, not as enjoyable as the first 4, I'm assuming that she's grown tired of Zoey and her gang. But, I'm committed, and will buy #6, to find closure for the friends I've found in this series.
I won't ruin anything by saying, I'll miss Zoey and Maurice, Riley, Sara, Darius... And all the rest. This author has me hooked, I've already enjoyed her second

Zoey and the gang are back! This series generally features the more rare of the Hidden: brownies, chupacabras, closet monsters, etc. In this book we finally get to see the more cliche vamps, demons, and werewolves--with, of course, a wacky spin. This book has a bit darker a tone than the earlier books as we build toward the final novel in the series. I was taken aback by Zoey & Riley's (off-screen) break-up, but there are some cool developments in Sara's plotline and I loved the businesspeople z ...more

I'm a sucker for these kinds of stories. Although the description hardly touches the main storyline it gives you that immediate feeling of "this is going to be fun!". The hidden world of monsters is in trouble and they need help. This light hearted book series, which is a complete and finished series, has a way of getting to you. The monsters become humane and at some point tears are involved. Anyone with a weakness for the underdogs should read this.

Light-hearted supernatural adventure continues. It's nice to see a supernat author who pokes fun at the genre while writing. This series is a good read for a blah day when you're not feeling like having to think too hard. That said, one can relate to the characters and no one is two-dimensional.

This is such a delightful book! Once again R.L.Naquin has brought me to another world and has had me laughing out loud at her captivating characters. I love being entertained from page one to the end. Zoey fights for her life and the lives of her friends once again, the mystery thrills and will keep you turning pages. I highly recommend this book/series!

Love this series!! Once again Zoey & her posse of Hidden are on a race against the clock to figure out what and who is killing all the Aegis. In true Monste Haven style we meet the rest of Hidden creatures. Demons, Weres, Vampires and Zombies. None are how you may think they are.

The only reason this is a 4 star rating is the "love" side stories were boring and drawn out.

Better and Better

Everything has come a head for Zoey and crew. The end of the world as they know it. The bodies are piling up and no matter how hard they try, they can't save everyone. There are ends and new beginnings because all is not lost... It just feels that way. Great characters and story. Intelligent, creative and well written.

With each book in this series I am drawn further in. I love how Zoe gets herself it so many predicaments but manages to get herself back out again with the help of her friends of course. I will be sorry to see this series end. R L Naquin has really got a great imagination and and is great with putting it on paper. This is one of the best series I have read.
