An exciting book on the truth of God's Word and the Providence of God in our lives. Inrig uses plenty of Scripture showing the will of God in the life of the Christian and showing how the Christian can surrender to that will.

There is lots to like in the content of this book. It is very mediocre in the writing style. The nautical themed understanding of how we can find God's vision and direction for our life is helpful. This book could have been shorter and less repetitive to make it more effective and engaging. The author of this book was the previous pastor at the church where my cousin now is shepherding.

I loved how he used all the navigational terms throughout the book on our spiritual walk. It was very interesting but not overwhelming. Very good read.

Gary Inrig uses mariner analogies to explain how Christians, who are living and traveling in uncharted waters (our changing societal norms), are to navigate life in the faith. Mariners have long used the North Star and a sextant to navigate open waters. As great as the changes are facing believers today, there are constants that are even greater. By utilizing the life of the Lord Jesus Christ as our fixed point, the North Star; and the Bible as the Christian’s sextant; these God-given navigational tools will lead us to our God-intended destination. For me, this was a very good read and perfectly applicable to our times.
