Parallel worlds and an FBI Preternatural Crime Division evoke television’s Fringe, but demons live in these realms and FBI agent/PI Caitlin Diggs’ primary associate is a wonderfully intriguing cat with preternatural powers.

The demons of Demon Inhibitions aren’t quite the enemy we might expect in our own “real” universe. And the humans aren’t always on the side of the good guys either. Author Gary Starta creates a parallel world of monsters and men—and perhaps an Egyptian goddess (appropriate, wh

I don't even know how to start this review. I used to think that if a book made you feel nothing it’s because you were reading it wrong. I was just proved wrong. I don't even know how to apply the rating here. Not a one star because I don't hate it. Not a two star because I don't dislike it but definitely not a three because it’s not even an ok story for me.

The blurb tells you all you need to know about the book. And being the UF/Sci Fi/PN fan that I am I could not turn this one down. The premi

Review of Demon Inhibitions by Gary Starta

4 Stars

A delightfully engrossing novel with much more than a hint of paranormal, “Demon Inhibitions” proved to be much more than I expected, and happily so. I enjoyed the book, but a few of the characters I found myself wanting to shake senseless; amazing our protagonist put up with them! Guess that’s what makes for tension in fiction, thoug

*This Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review*

This was a great idea for a story and the majority of my star rating is coming from the fact that I think this has major potential, for me it just isn't there yet.

The whole story is only 162 pages long and felt rushed, and the characters, especially the lead, just fell flat for me.

At times I felt that I was missing a whole chunk of back story. This wasn't submitted as a part of a series but the overall impression I had was

I did enjoy the character of Caitlin Diggs, but I will admit when started this book I did not realize it was third in a series. Had I realized this I would have gone back and read the other two book before this one. I was able to follow the story and enjoyed the mystery but I feel as if I was missing something in the story that kept me at a distance. This is definitely not a stand alone book. “Demon Inhibitions” is novelist Gary Starta’s third book set in a fantasy world featuring a crime investigator, in this one Caitlin is the heroine and she’s recently departed the FBI after losing her partner and lover to go into practice as a private eye. It’s a fast paced story involving a parallel world in which fantasy archetypes are predominant in the population. Gary Starta also brings into the story the mythology of Egypt in an unusual way that is essential to the story line. The mix of wo ...more

This is the third book in which Caitlin Diggs appears. This time as a P.I. rather than an FBI Agent. This is a fantastic paranormal mystery that intrigued me from the moment I read the blurb. I really enjoyed it!

Caitlin Diggs is a fascinating character. She is an ex-FBI agent turned psychic P.I. after an incident with a special crystal that gave her paranormal abilities. I really liked her, as she struggled to cope wit

I was given a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Caitlin Diggs had worked as a topnotch special agent for the FBI for fifteen years. Five months ago she resigned from her job; a job that she loved it was her life. She never planned on quitting but she lost her lover and partner and started seeing visions when she came in contact with people and it was hard for her to keep her emotions under control. She was afraid that people would start to figure out what was going on w

Demon Inhibitions is the third book in the Caitlin Diggs series by Gary Starta and although I had never read any of the previous installments I was able to keep up just fine thanks to plenty of refreshers throughout the story.

Caitlin Diggs was a top FBI agent, now PI investigating a dimension-hopping soul stealer. She inadvertently travels to the parallel world and witnesses the suspect murder her alternate. She as

I liked Demon Inhibitions from the beginning I started reading. The moment Caitlin arrives in Salem, her new neighbour Briana drops by. That is when Caitlin reveals she is a Private Eye making her new neighbour tell her about the recent killings. (I will try not to give you spoilers) Gary Starta was so detailed when Mr. Manners enters Caitlin’s mind, it seemed so effortlessly. As I kept reading, my question was, who is this liquid man? And what was he capable of? In her room, strange happenings ...more

I wish I'd known this was part of a series before I decided to review. The first few chapters seemed to spend an awful lot of time going over what had happened before and left me feeling a bit lost. Despite recapping previous events, they weren't very detailed, but there were a lot of them and I really struggled to keep on reading, wondering where on Earth this book was going to take me.

Not Earth, as it turns out, at least not the one we know, but parallel dimensions. Once Cai

Mysterious Story with many Paranormal species. This story has more than your standard vampires, witches, and were shifters. There are lycans, succubus, incubus, and many other demon types. This story takes place between to different time dimensions, is easy to follow, and the mystery is there. This is not a romantic paranormal suspense and I found I was not attached enough to the secondary characters to care if they lived or died or if they were the guilty party. The main character had no love i ...more

I received a gift copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Caitlin is a former FBI agent turned PI who now resides in Salem. She decided to leave her FBI career after a case transformed her in some very inexplicable ways. Brianna is a witch and she quickly befriends Caitlin in Salem. On her first case Caitlin comes into contact with not one but two Incubi. While working on this case she also receives news that a man who was put behind bars for being able to literally kill people by ta ...more

Have you ever thought about there being someone out there in the world (or a different world) that looked just like you and was your alternate self?
Well, in this novel, Caitlin Diggs does not have to wonder about this. She is forced to confront this notion.
Caitlin is a former FBI agent that left the force because she came into having some supernatural powers. When a case calls for her to hunt down a truly evil demon and try to bring him to justice, her life is changed forever.

If you like the television series Supernatural and old school such as the X-Files you will enjoy this book for its plot, similarities and blending of preternatural characters. An FBI agent has had her own brush with the paranormal and it has left her able to have visions. She becomes a private detective because her peers at the bureau would never understand or tolerate her aberrant talent.

Ex-agent Diggs, private detective, falls into a dimension crossing adventure involving incubi, genetically e

Demon Inhibitions by Gary Starta

Caitlin Diggs works for the FBI in the paranormal division. She is assigned a case to find a man who is out to steal souls. She meets up with a witch (Briana) incubus and other supernatural creatures. With Caitlin's special abilities she is able to go to another universe, and become some-what or a clone of herself.

I really liked the story line, it was original, a bit slower than I prefer, but the characters Caitlin and Briana were likable. At times I was a bit con

I guess I should have read the other books first because when I read this I was feeling a little out of the loop. It is an excellent book, with a wonderful cast of characters. I also love this book because it gives you enough information to guess part of the ending but not all of it. I like the plot line and the whole parallel dimension thing. Despite all of the great things about the book, I didn't like it that

When I first read the summary I thought "ok this sounds exciting and original" and was eager to begin. However, as I finished the first chapter, I became more and more annoyed with the writing style of Gary Starta. The story felt incomplete and just didn't connect the way it was supposed to. It has a lot of developmental potential character-wise as well as plot. I feel the author did a great job with the

As the reader is taken into part three of this amazing series, Caitlin Diggs has resigned from the F.B.I. but that doesn't mean she's not still chasing the bad guy. Caitlin has only moved to a parallel universe to find the soul stealer, Mollini. Who has been known to induce hypnotic trances to force suicides. This is a well written supernatural adventure, that combines a lot of real life inside the novel and has readers waiting for more. Gary Starta knows how to tell a great adventure and that i ...more

I am not the typical sci-fi consumer; always expecting the protagonist - regardless of the setting, whether chasing a soul stealer, traveling through a portal to another reality, or else – to search for the human factor and shed light on us.
Our souls are scanned, screened and well x-rayed here from any angle.

It's not often that you come across a book that is packed with all the different mythical figures, and the author is able to create multi-dimensional characters out of them. Prepared to be awed and taken on a journey into a world where suspense meets sci-fi. Without giving away any spoilers, this book is well worth the read and I strongly recommend it! Buy it now!

I feel Gary Starta hit a home run with Demon Inhibitions, a paranormal mystery that crosses over to a parallel dimension. How cool is that? The progression of the storyline from book 1 to book 3 is paced perfectly. The character development is superb. Gary has you guessing at every turn. I look forward to discovering what book 4 has in store.
