It would’ve been different if I had courage, even an ounce of it. But I was a coward from the day I met you, Ryan Crowley. I still am. In the end it doesn’t matter. The bottom line is the same. It’s my fault.

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. Normally when I add a book to my TBR list I read through the synopsis decide wether its my cup of tea or not and add it. Once it's on my list I don't read the synopsis again so when it comes to reading the book I don't have a clue what to expect, I like the thrill of finding out what it is all about while reading the book not reading a teaser on the back of it. I figure if i added it in the first place i must alre ...more

I’ve been sitting here for weeks trying to figure out how to review this book. I’ve found it hardest to write a review about a book that touches home, that speaks to your soul. Not because the book is bad, quite the opposite actually. It’s hard because there’s so many emotions and feeling flowing through you that you don’t even know where to begin.

Danielle Sibarium is one of my favorite authors. I fell in love with Jordan Brewer from her book For Always, and like any diehard fan, I’ve read every

I love Danielle! She is one of the first authors I met when I started blogging at Paperbook Princess, and I absolutely fell in love with her Heart Waves Series, and I plan on reading For Always as soon as I figure out how to get more hours in a day! So when Danielle started talking about To My Hero on Twitter, I immediately needed all the details!

I received this book for review from Danielle, and started reading it within a few days (as I said before there is not enough hours in the day!) This

To My Hero: A Blog of Our Journey Together was a powerful story, told in a very unique manner. The story consists of a series of entries, from Carly to Ryan, told in chronological order. It is told with a strong sense of foreboding, and begins a horrific event. As To My Hero goes on, it continues to tell of Carly's journey with Ryan past that intense beginning, leading to another night in which events become out of control.

I know what I've said about To My Hero is terribly vague, but I'm not qu

Wow! Just finished this book and am kind of at a loss for words. I received an ARC of this, and once I started reading, I found myself completely immersed and unable to put it down. I will admit the title of the book didn't excite me, but the book is amazing and upon completing this book, the title made perfect sense. There are some heavy and haunting topics written into the storyline. My heart completely broke for the main character, Carly, and I found myself on an emotional roller coaster with ...more

Just WOW!!!!! I received this book from the author for my honest review....... This is the story of Carly and Ryan and their journey to find peace and love, after a horrible "incident". I must say this book gave me the chills. The love they shared flew off the pages. I felt Carly's pain, the low self-esteem and the feeling of loneliness. Ryan was a true Hero in ever sense. I was so proud of the characters in this story. I was truly blown away by this story. Again many thanks to the author for th ...more

I really have been striving to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to the books I read. I used to only read light and fluffy or paranormal books. I've really delved into the world of contemporary and have even challenged myself by picking up books with more heavy and often tough subject matter. To My Hero challenged me but not because it wasn't a good book. It was about rape. There's no way to sugar-coat the topic nor do I want to. It's not a book for people who can't deal with the bad par ...more

I have just finished reading an ARC of this book and I am still considering what words I can use to describe the experience. I will go with epic!
I have never read a book that has yanked out my insides quite like this book has. I loved the style and the way it was written. I couldn't have put it down if the house was on fire! (well maybe......but you get my point)
I was asked for an honest review but I am failing to find the words to give it justice. I can only say

It took me a bit to get into the book at first and connect to the language in which Danielle Sibarium was using. I was worried that I had gotten my hands on another teenage love story that was written with a plot unrealistic and too mature, thankful I quickly found that was far from the case.

After looking closer at the title I began to connect witht the dialog that Daniel used. The story took me through so many emotional moments.

Ryan and Carly, two highschool seniors weeks from graduating, have

When i first started this book I wondered why Danielle was writing in a weird first person/second person tense. By the end though I came to realize why and the name if the book suites the situation well. I love the story and I LOVE Ryan. He seems so hot and strong and protective. This is one of few New Adult book where I felt like the girl main character isn't annoying and whiny. So kudos for that. Also I love the detailing and emotional depth of it, its like Ryan said they aren't "bubble gum an ...more

To My Hero is a book that stays with you days after you've finished it. I already know I need tissues in hand when I read a Danielle Sibarium book. I was not prepared for this journey. It was raw and painful and emotional and beautiful. I could truly feel Carly's pain. At times I had to put the book down just to take a breath. I was angry for her. I absolutely understood her insecurities and internal struggles. The character of Ryan was wonderful. I appreciate how he wasn't a caricature of a sup ...more

WOW, Danielle you are one of my favorite authors for a reason! I loved this story so much. I love Ryan and wish everyone was as lucky as me to have a Ryan in their life. He's not perfect. Yes he has flaws and those flaws just make him that much more lovable. This book was so emotional and so full of heartache and yet I loved it so much that once I started reading I couldn't put it down. So glad that your books always address real issues without sugar coating things. I love your work and can't wa ...more

Very powerful!
I was so emotionally involved in this book, I lost who I was and became Carly. I felt what she felt. Made decisions I might have made in that particular situation. Even though Carly is young, she had been through so much (I can relate) and handled herself well. I think that's what Danielle did in this book, she made it where I, as a woman could relate.
Ryan was lovable, yet still a little rough around the edges. If only we had a Ryan in our lives at a young age :)

I really enjoyed this! It was so intense at some parts, and my interest was captured from beginning to end. There were a few things I didn't like, but overall this was a good book. I LOVED THAT the story was told in second POV. I'll post a full review early next week! :)

As you can read from the synopsis, this is not a light-hearted book by any means. It deals with very real circumstances and your heart can't help but break for Carly, the main character. I applaud Danielle for tackling such a difficult topic because I think she's done so in a way that both enlightens and informs.

Carly as I said is our main character. The book begins in present day but does have a few chapters where we flashback to a previous point in time, usually a scene involving Ry

I received this book a while ago for review and I am totally kicking myself for not reading it sooner. It completely consumed me and wrapped me up into the story of Carly and Ryan. To My Hero was a beautiful story about Heartbreak, Pain, Love and healing.

Carly has been in love with Ryan for years but has always missed her chance to make a move and let him know how she feels. She ends up meeting Will, a guy whose parents have business dealings with her family, and they become a couple. Things wit

I have been trying to write this review for a few weeks and thankfully Danielle is truly an amazing woman and understood that I couldn’t get out what I felt for this book. I'll be the first to admit that I'm still not a huge fan of the New Adult genre, I can see the demand for it and think that the genre is needed but I would like to see a lot more diversity in the characters, plot lines and sub-genres in the genre which is why I when I agreed to review To My Hero I went in with an open mind.

To My Hero was an emotional, gritty and heartbreaking read. Right from the first page of the book Danielle had me hooked with the honesty of the writing and while it was not a

When I first started on page one I was completely blown away. Danielle Has Done It Again!!! When I read books by the same author often the stories tend to all fade into one story, but for me Danielle really knows how to change it up. This is the first book I've ever read this way. I get the feeling that the main character "Carly" is reading us her story like its right out of her journal.

To My Hero was an emotional, powerful book that I really enjoyed. Carly is a high school student in an abusive relationship. She is the victim of an assault, and no one in her life will support her. Her parents don't believe her side of the story, her friends take the attacker's side, and she's all alone. Except for Ryan. Ryan has liked Carly for forever---unbeknownst to Carly---and she's liked him too. Ryan is Carly's rock as she recovers from her attack, and their friendship is her sa

What can I say but that this was the most moving book that I have read in a long time! Danielle Sibarium grabs you from the first page of this book. This book is written as a blog that Carly writes to Ryan. It is written in first person and its like reading someone's blog post or diary. I LOVED IT. I loved reading Carly's feelings for Ryan and reading about her interactions with him. Review: Danielle has done it again writing a story with so much emotions. Rape is a rough subject to talk about and we imagine it’s just as hard to write about. The way Carly is raped and beaten took our breathe away and brought chilling tears to our eyes. Too many of us know someone or is someone who’s been rape. As hard as it is to read about the rape it is a wonderful ride to read what comes next. We are not saying that all that comes next is roses in fact it’s the oppisite. We get to see Car ...more

This is the second book I bought from Danielle Sibarium. This book is a departure from the first one. Her first book was a YA love story. It's good to see an author branch out. This book is also unique in that most of the story is addressed to “you.” I think this would make it second-person point of view. Most authors use first or third person. To keep the story in second person isn’t an easy feat.
The person telling you the story is Carly. She’s in an abusive relationship because her boyfriend’

To my hero is a difficult and sad story but it is also a story about trust, friendship and love. Carly is broken after everything that happens to her, then her parents betray her and the only person there for her is Ryan. The boy she liked for years and the boy who was in love with her from 9th grade. They are people who missed a couple of chances because of misunderstandings so they decided on friendship.
